He had several teachers in Kirana, Gwalior and Agra gharanas. Recorded live at Kanara Saraswat Association, Mumbai on 28 March 1979, with Shashikant Muley (tabla), Purushottam Walawalkar (harmonium) "Nirguni" bhajan relates to the concept of a deity that is without form or attributes. |

| Sidhram Jadhav Pilu Thumri Sundri Recital Odeon 1968 Sidhram Bhimrao Jadhav was born in Sholapur, Maharashtra. His father, Bhim Rao, played the shehnai in a South Indian style. ASHA BHOSLE (1933- 12 April 2026) known mainly for her Bollywood playback singing, she was a versatile singer. She was born in 1933 into a musical household; her father Deenanath Mangeshkar was an actor on the Marathi stage, and a classical singer. Asha Bhosle’s sister is the equally renowned Lata Mangeshkar. | L. Shankar Ananda Nadamadum Tillai Sankara - Ragam: Savithri Who's to Know ECM Records 1981 Born in Madras on 26 April 1950, he is the son of violinist V. Lakshminarayana, and brother of L. Subramaniam and L. Vaidyanathan. While attending college at Wesleyan University, he met jazz musicians like Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Garrison, and John McLaughlin. With McLaughlin, Shankar founded the group Shakti in 1975, one of the early groups in which Eastern and Western musical traditions met. This is the debut recording of his custom double-neck electric violin, which soon found its way onto numerous crossover collaborations. I could not find any reliable information about this raga. It is not mentioned in my reference books. With Sivaraman on mridangam and Zakir Hussain on tabla, playing Ali tal of 8 beats. |

| Jnan Prakash Ghosh & V. Balsara Folk Melody Raga on Keyboard - Jugalbandi Saregama India Ltd 1978 Keyboards are an import to the Indian subcontinent. The harmonium arrived in India during the mid-19th Century, possibly with missionaries or traders. The harmonium quickly became popular, being portable, reliable and easy to learn. The harmonium has almost completely replaced the sarangi as an accompaniment to Hindustani vocalists, even though it isn’t really well suited for Indian Classical Music. This duet features harmonium by Jnan Prakash Ghosh (1909-1997; usually a percussionist) and Vistas Ardeshir Balsara on the piano. Shyamal Bose on tabla. |

He has spent many years studying and playing a wide variety of music, including jazz, world, Indian, and experimental music. He has studied with Samar Saha, Sharda Sahai, and Pankaj Misra. The "bulbul tarang" is a keyed electric string instrument, literally “waves of nightingales”, evolved from the Japanese taishogoto, which arrived in the subcontinent in the 1930s. | Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Dhun: Bhairavee Classical Instrumental Swarashree Enterprises 2008 Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan was born in 1927 in Jaora, Madhya Pradesh, and died in 2017. He developed his own unique style of sitar playing, called "Jafferkhani Baaj".
