The Art of the Fugue

This morning we will be traveling through time on a journey to understand the fugue: where it came from, how it was transformed, and where it might be going.

I have just clicked in. What a pleasure. Happy to have you in my digiteria. I hope you are having a great show.
Richard Mitnick 6:11:26 AM
Dave Brubeck had studied with Darius Milhaud at Mills College and wrote fugues for his Octet. Do you have any of that music/ How about something from the classical side of Keith Jarrett, or from Simone Dinnerstein?
J.S. Bacchus (host) 6:15:19 AM
Hey Richard! Thanks for tuning in.
Richard Mitnick 6:15:31 AM
I somehow lost the chat. I had asked about Brubeck, Jarrett and Dinnerstein
J.S. Bacchus (host) 6:15:49 AM
Not sure if WPRB has that music in the stacks, but if I end up making a second part of this show that includes more contemporary uses of the fugue, I will make sure to look for those. Thanks!
Richard Mitnick 6:16:51 AM
I aim to serve.
