cracking open my redbull rn

I have been clicked in. Happy to have you in my digiteria. I hope you have a great show.

Hello Aneek! I am hearing silence right now

Yes sorry! It wouldn't be a khichdi set without some tech difficulties, how is it now?

It's fine!

And shoe-gaze-y

And hi TAndy and Richard

Great, thank you for tuning in Rob!

Sipping on some coffee; congrats on the new slot Aneek, can't wait to explore music with you.

Hello Richard and TAndy!

Hello Pengy!! Thank you for tuning in!

Afternoon Pengy

Hi Aneek! It's been dropping out for me on and off the last couple of hours. All good now.

hello hello Roffle!

Rob! Always love catching you in the chat.

as always dear listeners feel free to let me know when the broadcast is spotty

Aww, Pengy, same here

Howdy Roffle

So if there's a similar band from Madrid they would be a zapato-gaze band?

Heya Rob, heat wave next week. Great birding weather!

Roffle, yes, heat wave = highs in the mid 30s! Woo hoo!

yes and I am a firm believer in the fact that we need to change the shoegaze names to mean shoe in every language

Roffle, yes, heat wave = highs in the mid 30s! Woo hoo! ;;-)

If a cobbler makes shoes, whoe makes those?

With a warm breeze too. :)

why is maryland khichdi-deprived

Signal drop. :)

I'll take mid 30s at this point

i will take anything above 18 please

i'll take the mid 30s too, i don't want it to be warm yet

another brief drop

i would go back to my mid 20's but mid 30's have been eh for me xD

(40s here in florida feels like i t could snow!)

I reached out the station about the drops, ill try and see what they can do

What is the best age guys

I think my peak will be 35-50

the best age was 27

that's a pretty solid answer tando

2015-2018, things were pretty good there for a while !

I am intrigued by Noor Bakhsh's instrument. The "electric benju"? reminds me of a bulbul tarang.

This is such a pretty song

@TAndy A.R. Rahman is a visionary

@Aneek, Maryland is khichdi-deprived because Mrs from Maryland doesn't have any moong dal. We will go out in search for it, perhaps to Patel Brothers

Yes! I am providing you with a recipe for sweet khicdhi this season too. You have two types to make now

Fwiw KSPC in Pomona California is surrounded by temperatures in the 80s right now. I'd love to see 80s again (temperatures, maybe even music)

ty DJ Aneek! We will defo go out for moong dal some time this month after roads have gotten even clearer

of course, the khichdi is calling....

I'd love if today's temperatures were in degrees C instead of degrees F. It's 27F near me right now. 27C is about 80F! 😀

east side supremacy!

ohidere mrm

Ohio? 😨

why is there midwestern propaganda in my chat

Are you trying to say that place is real?

Birds aren't real, why should Ohio be? ;-)

birds are not real

it's true, they are not!

Rob, I went to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology this weekend!

My dad repeatedly asked "Where's Larry?" and I told / begged him not to ask anyone working there that...

Hello Jon!!

Hello hello.

Hey just jumping in here for a second. TAndy, you mentioned signal drops, was that on FM or stream?

Likewise for Roffle

It was a bit of both. I heard FM cut out once or twice but on one instance the webstream stuttered than stopped

neither has happened since much earlier in the show

Did it go to drums or just silence?

Silence each time, didn't hear any drums

How long was the cut?

Ranging from less than a second to around 4. The time the stream stopped playing entirely was preceded by rapid stuttering

Gotcha, appreciate it

Hi just wanted to say thanks for playing some of my favourite tracks and artists! Egschiglen, Asha Bhosle, and Ali Khan all in one show!

Oh I love this song too

Hello Darsh! I am happy you found some tracks you recognize!

I am becoming an Egschiglen fan now

Nice! My favourite track by them is 'Hunnu". It is the first one I started to learn on the Morin Khuur

I will give that a listen too!

Throat singing is the weird side of cool.

Roffle were the signal drops for you on FM or stream?

Stream

I'm in Philly, but online works for many reasons.

@Roffle, I have been described that way too

Common affliction around here. ;)

I think "Sharaabi" is now in the lead for catchiest tune I've heard today.

Madboy Mink!

yess this is such a vibe

Thank you Jali!

fire show as usual!!

aww stop it

@Jon, just seeing that you went to the Cornell Lab this weekend. Excellent!! (But who is Larry?)

Signal just went out for about 3 seconds

Yep I caught that as well

Hi DJ Jagannath

Hey Rob hows it going

@DJ Aneek, my wife and I have both enjoyed your show today, thank you!

It's going cold and shoe-gazey :-) How are things going with you?

Thank you Rob!! Stay warm and stay safe!

All good! Monitoring these cuts, currently

I will say I prefer the show khichdi over the dish khichdi

whatttttttt

I kinda hate khichdi lol

thank you but also the dish is great

okay permaban incoming

lol try me

I just really dislike the texture

I would take a standard dal rice over it

this fusion track is sick btw

Thank you TAndy! Now you know why I had to visit East Asia for a bit

why are we pitting two baddies (dal rice and khichdi) against one another?

It is fusion-y, it sounds Latin American in places, especially with the trumpet and the flute

because one is better.

yeah risotto right

I have had one decent khichdi, it was at a super fancy fine dining place that made it in front of us using a different ingredient special to each state of india

Who added salsa to the khicidi?

honestly TAndy you may not be wrong

dj jagannath and i are not in the same khichdi tax bracket

it was a special occasion! never doing it again it was wildly overpriced khichdi

I added the salsa Darsh

Cut again

c. 4 seconds of silence just n ow

Are you guys on FM or stream? I'm on FM and it didnt cut for me

i'm on stream, thats good to know though thanks

It seems to be affecting the webstream more often

Thanks for the show Aneek!!

Really dug the show, thank you. Gonna take a dance class and put on Sharaabi now. :)

Very true. A good rajma chawal or dal makhani is so much better

I'm obviously on the stream

No problem guys! Stay safe and stay warm!!

@Roffle, tell us how it goes

I'll have the time with my leg in traction. Latter.
