40 YEARS OF WHOPP
For one week only, it's a special membership drive RETURN TO THEMES!
On April 4, 1986 The New York Times published a gripping article about disgraced former president Richard Nixon stopping at a Burger King (in Manahawkin, pretty sure, now closed) on a drive down the Jersey shore 2 days prior. A day that was henceforth known as Whopper Day (observed) to my friend Tom, his brother, and other than that, basically just me. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this momentous event, along with the WPRB Spring Membership Drive I will be playing songs about bad presidents, New Jersey, and fast food! And Pat from Clamour Club is here with me!!

Hi everyone it's time for my traditional birthday week show where I just play my favorite songs!
This was a bit more of a thrill when I did a purely themed show and didn't do at least an hour of whatever I want to play every week! But it's still fun to trot out old (and new!) favorites.

Maybe the last drive show from my home studio THE FACTORY OF HOPE because thanks we are on the brink in the power of freeform, human-curated broadcast radio to support independent music and keep exposing people to things that they never would have known they would like (and that an algorithm would never know to play for them). Being live, human, connected, and available randomly to anyone with a radio receiver makes radio special in a way that is hard to articulate. Being part of WPRB has been so important to me personally, and I am so proud to be able to contribute to it. So if you like me, the show, the station, the general concept of this kind of radio, please contribute!
