@E&J I used to love going to Radio Shack as a kid to look at all the demo phones. I got my last couple of Mp3 players from them before they closed, I'vee still got them!

I was born in '93, so I missed the peak.

Radio Shack was the last place in America where you could rock up at any time of day and find an employee with Taco Bell stains on his pants who was also willing to talk to you about RCA cables. Sic transit gloria mundi.

There's a great YouTube vid of pre-fame Nirvana playing at a Radio Shack in the middle of the night. (Assuming one of their friends worked there.) It's a nice remembrance of a world that once was.
