Oh yeah
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:04:58 PM
g'day Thachmo
christopher thacher 3:06:25 PM
I bought this album fory sister for Xmas. Turns out she wasn't an Aerosmith fan. Oh well
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:07:23 PM
that whole album totally rocks
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:07:42 PM
and this one as well
christopher thacher 3:10:17 PM
One of the best rhythm sections in rock.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:11:00 PM
true that
Bill Davidson 3:11:17 PM
Anyone here familiar with The Rudds? Named after Phil Rudd.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:12:06 PM
hi bill ... no, news to me
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:12:24 PM
any good?
christopher thacher 3:12:33 PM
Learn me Bill
STIKE 3:13:37 PM
saw Aerosmith open for Mott The Hoople in Philly
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:15:14 PM
hey Stike ... how's it going today?
STIKE 3:15:35 PM
so we are doing signs of an ill spent youth? I am good thanks
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:15:48 PM
you're showing your age with tht last comment
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:16:13 PM
the first comment
STIKE 3:16:14 PM
but at least I was a youth when this stuff was new
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:16:24 PM
i hear you
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:17:17 PM
i'd actually say a youth well spent
STIKE 3:17:46 PM
I agree
Bill Davidson 3:18:27 PM
I dig The Rudds. 2000s Boston band led by John Powhida who’s originally from Albany. John’s unlike anyone else in the Boson scene. The Rudds were part ‘70s rock, part white boy R&B. John ironically loves Hall & Oates. Nice guy, very approachable.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:20:06 PM
i'll check 'em out ... thanks for the tip

STIKE 3:25:53 PM
Ah summertime in AC in the early 70's
Bill Davidson 3:27:10 PM
I knew a kid in high school from Mexico City. He was really into hard rock and introduced me to dirty songs like “Big Balls” and “ Wang Dang Sweet Poontang”. My 14-year-old virgin ears were bleeding.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:27:49 PM
both good ones ... at any age
Bill Davidson 3:31:48 PM
I was really into The Cars when I was 14. Another kid in school knew this and lent me his copy of Oui with a Ric Ocasek interview.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:32:29 PM
ooh la la!
Bill Davidson 3:32:49 PM
We read Oui for the articles, of course
Bill Davidson 3:33:55 PM
You had to turn the magazine sideways for some articles
Bill Davidson 3:34:10 PM
jk
Bill Davidson 3:35:41 PM
Was Queen part of Live Aid?
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:36:00 PM
yes
Bill Davidson 3:37:14 PM
I thought so. Didn’t they do “Under Pressure” with Bowie in Philly? Maybe I’m making that up, can’t remember.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:37:37 PM
that did not happen
Bill Davidson 3:37:54 PM
Oh well.
Bill Davidson 3:39:00 PM
I was a bus boy at The Alchemist & Barrister when Live Aid happened (1985?)
STIKE 3:40:59 PM
12 string love
Bill Davidson 3:41:21 PM
One of the cooks went to the Philly show. “We Are The World” was the closer, I think. When Lionel Richie called out “One more time!” for a repeat of the chorus, everyone in the cook’s section of the crowd yelled “No!”
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:42:40 PM
i was there ... got there at 10:30 am just as Sabbath was hitting the stage with the OG line up for the first time in a while
Bill Davidson 3:42:58 PM
Nice!
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:43:16 PM
don't remember the we are the world though
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:43:52 PM
i do remember Phil Collins fucking up Stairway to Heaven
Bill Davidson 3:44:23 PM
“We Are The World” doesn’t conjure any fond memories for me
Bill Davidson 3:44:48 PM
Phil Collins played drums with Zeppelin?
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:46:10 PM
yes ... after playing at the one in London and flying the concord to Philly
Bill Davidson 3:46:42 PM
Right. Maybe he had jet lag?
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:48:21 PM
no excuse ....Plant was super pissed I heard
Bill Davidson 3:49:34 PM
Yes reminds me of my older cousin Rich. I was a little kid when I first heard Yes on his bedroom stereo. I think I asked “Why do you like this?” I really only knew The early Beatles stuff at the time.
Bill Davidson 3:50:40 PM
Would have been hilarious if Robert Plant and Phil Collins brawled on stage after that.
Bill Davidson 3:53:48 PM
One Bon Scott track is never enough
Charlie the Tuna (host) 3:59:07 PM
agreed!
Bill Davidson 4:01:21 PM
…Oops, I meant to type John Powhida from The Rudds unironically loves Hall & Oates. I texted with John on Facebook Messenger when Hall & Oates got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. John turned me on to Daryl Hall’s solo album Sacred Songs. I love Robert Fripp.
Bill Davidson 4:03:41 PM
Speaking of Bon Scott, anyone remember Nat Freedberg’s AC/DC-esque parody band The Upper Crust?
Bill Davidson 4:04:52 PM
May’s vocals were more Bon Scott than Brian Johnson
Bill Davidson 4:05:06 PM
*Nat’s
Bill Davidson 4:06:57 PM
…Sorry, I’ll try to cool it with the random anecdotes
Charlie the Tuna (host) 4:10:24 PM
no worries
STIKE 4:11:08 PM
oh yeah
christopher thacher 5:09:07 PM
It was of course Chuck's cousin Marvin Berry, who saw Marty McFly playing guitar. That's why we know about Chuck Berry today
Ross McLochness 5:10:03 PM
Props for the pronunciations on the last set. Never wavered. Great songs too!
STIKE 5:10:28 PM
great lyricist
Charlie the Tuna (host) 5:11:02 PM
thanks Ross... little sketchy at points but i tried
Charlie the Tuna (host) 5:12:13 PM
yeah, chuck wrote a ton of great jams ... not a bad guit player either
Charlie the Tuna (host) 5:12:35 PM
not sure about this guy though
Charlie the Tuna (host) 5:12:44 PM
a little sloppy
Ross McLochness 5:29:51 PM
Sounds like In My Time of Dying ripped this off pretty shamelessly.
Charlie the Tuna (host) 5:31:57 PM
maybe page and plant took a spin in the afforementioned Delorean
Ross McLochness 5:33:26 PM
Mississippi Fred is owed something on that one.
Mike Tropiano 5:58:53 PM
Wonderful afternoon of music this afternoon. Thanks Charlie.
Bill Davidson 5:59:19 PM
Thanks, man! Great as always!
Charlie the Tuna (host) 6:00:14 PM
thanks, Bill ... see you and all y'all next time ... cheers!
