The Genius of Funk

Welcome aboard the Mothership!

Thanks, K Man!

Stick around, he's in the mix!

Curtis is ESSENTIAL funky soulfulness

Hey DJ, you might want to hit the "auto approve"check box, otherwise it looks like you're talking to yourself!

Awesome show btw! That wah wah track was crazy!

Thanks, DJ Twizzy! Wah Wah Watson is in fact a beast of a guitarist

Good afternoon, loving the old school hits!

Thanks! Teena Marie is essential to life.

Underestimated yet powerful songstress she is!

Absolutely.

thanks for a great set to do some yard work to. Shout out to the Radio Garden app - I know I can listen on the WPRB site but Radio Garden lets me listen to radio stations around the globe - It is most often set to WPRB - a 40 minute drive away :-)

the Teena Marie song was revelatory - I don';t know her music and now will look into it more - thanks for that

Teena Marie was a revolution for me this year. She's incredibly talented. Very much worth your time. Glad you enjoy the show!

Heading to see the Dead Milkmen at Laurel Hill Cemetery tonight. I am looking forward to a blustery night of punk between the tombstones. It is fun for me for 2 reasons. I am friends with several band members and I have a plot there :)

I am glad you are getting back into the DJ chair after a hiatus - You've put together a great show for a Saturday afternoon

Amazing! You may be standing next to the person I just gave a shout out to! The Milkmen are amazing. Have fun. Great venue.

Thanks, it feels great to be back on the Waves

I joked with their drummer that nobody under 60 even knows what a milk man is.

My band does a mean Punk Rock Girl

great tune - what is the name of your band?

Illegal Tender

That sounds like trouble ;-)

putting the work gloves back on so typing will have to take a break - Nice touching base -

Enjoy the last half hour!

Hello DJ! Great selections! I have a bunch of these artists on my playlist for driving my kid to school. He likes Chuck Brown and the Whispers now. I know you didn't play the Whispers but one day you will.

Chuck Brown is the King of DC Go Go, your kid has excellent taste. I had him near the top of the show. The Whispers are absolutely grand as well. Doing right for the new generation by raising them on the good stuff.

I also have "Mango Meat" by Mandrill, "Just a Touch" by Slave...

Slave and Mandrill are bands I need to keep going but the records I have heard have been aces

Drop some Idris Muhammed on the kiddos

I'm from the 80's so all these bands are from when I was coming up. Excellent stuff

You know jamiroquai had this on in the studio

Excellent show! Please come back asap!☆☆☆☆☆

Thank you

I saw jamiroquai with the Bran New Heavies back in the 90's

I just dont want to stooooop wprbeeeeeee 🎵🎶🎵😅✌️💕
