Good evening
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:04:51 PM
Hello Mr. Ramone!
Alan Parsec 8:05:32 PM
Off to a Great start!!!!!!
Carlos Ramone 8:05:37 PM
Mr Ramone is my father… Carlos is fine
Steve Keane 8:05:55 PM
Wow. The new mandatory AT&T update completely fucked my phone. I can either listen, OR chat. I had to reinstall the weird app so I can do both. Capitalist "innovation". Yay
Alan Parsec 8:07:33 PM
PJ DJ...
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:09:58 PM
I'm glad you figured it out, Steve
Alan Parsec 8:11:01 PM
Steve: Similar prob here. A update made it possible to take photos but not look at them...arrrgh!!!
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:12:25 PM
A lot of long songs tonight my friends
Andrew Gotobed 8:12:42 PM
u5 fest was such a blast! i had never had guiding light before and now i love them
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:12:59 PM
Guiding Light was the highlight for me! I loved their Zounds cover
Andrew Gotobed 8:12:59 PM
*never heard
Andrew Gotobed 8:13:45 PM
yes!!
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:14:38 PM
I really liked The Serfs too. Toody was incredible but I left early because I was so exhausted
Andrew Gotobed 8:18:18 PM
i had to stay til the end.. i peeked at the setlist and saw that the encore was going to be 54/40 or fight
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:18:50 PM
Oh man
Andrew Gotobed 8:19:36 PM
omg I'm obsessed with the sheaves. hope they come this way.
Rofflelectic TM 8:19:37 PM
Leaving early preserves the mystery
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:20:06 PM
Hi Roffle!
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:20:19 PM
Sheaves just played Gonerfest I believe
Rofflelectic TM 8:20:26 PM
Heya Dana! PJ Boss!
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:20:41 PM
Leaving early preserves my sleep schedule
Teresa Peacock 8:21:03 PM
I'm thrilled to see Susanne Lewis has a solo record out!!! We used to hang out in the late '80s and early '90s in the early days of Hail and she and my husband Rob worked together at MOMA. In late 1992 or 1993, she and Azalia Snail collaborated on an album called 'Hail/Snail'. On it is a track called 'C.O.D.' which is about the death of Azalia and my mutual ex-boyfriend Charlie Ondras.
Rofflelectic TM 8:22:00 PM
I wish I had one of those sleep schedules again... I truly forget how that works anymore... :)
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:22:14 PM
Teresa! Thank you so much for the info, I really have to check out her entire back catalogue. The solo record in question is actually from 2000 but was just reissued and I'm obsessed with it.
Steve Keane 8:23:30 PM
Yeah. Wow that's pretty cool.
Rofflelectic TM 8:23:30 PM
Mutual ex-boyfriends is a cool sounding band though! lol
Andrew Gotobed 8:23:54 PM

Teresa Peacock 8:26:34 PM
I thought you said it came out in 2000! Yeah, it makes sense that it's a reissue. And @Rofflelectic TM -- if Mutual Ex-Boyfriends were a band, it would have to somehow riff on Big Star's 'Sister Lovers'.
Rofflelectic TM 8:28:16 PM
@Teresa Peacock, that is an eggshell event on a good day! :)
Andrew Gotobed 8:32:46 PM
I've always thought of it as one five four
Steve Keane 8:32:55 PM
I think one hundred fifty four is more English
Rofflelectic TM 8:33:35 PM
What is that in abacus?
Alan Parsec 8:35:15 PM
Steve: works for me as long as you say twenty twenty-six
Rofflelectic TM 8:35:39 PM

Steve Keane 8:39:57 PM
Nah. It doesn't have Tet.

Hi Ossy!
Rofflelectic TM 8:44:40 PM
Those fucking priests with that Gregorian number smithing shit again. Everyone with a number system still has zero clues as to when day one was.
Marcus 8:45:22 PM
If we all use Julian dates there's not problem
Rofflelectic TM 8:45:44 PM
Nor are my French Fries.
Rofflelectic TM 8:47:12 PM
I need to go buy French fries! Back in a bit...
Steve Keane 8:47:24 PM
Time is circular. We've all seen Battlestar Galactica. The reboot was actually a sequel. So there.
Dana K (in exile) (host) 8:48:05 PM
Pizza is a flat circle

2022 was a great year for me in terms of "doing stuff" but possibly the worst year in terms of mental health
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:08:12 PM
4 years since I interviewed Jerry!
Corn Maize 🎃 9:08:44 PM
the day i went to buy my first sonic youth album was when goo came out. i was all prepared to buy it when i saw sister in the used bin for $3. i bought that instead.
Andrew Gotobed 9:09:00 PM
4 years already??
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:09:19 PM
A good deal!
Steve Keane 9:09:33 PM
Jerry loved you. That was a fun interview
Steve Keane 9:09:52 PM
You should replay it
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:10:15 PM
I think I lost the recording. Or it's on an old laptop somewhere.
Teresa Peacock 9:10:46 PM
'Cotton Crown' was the first song by Sonic Youth I heard when 'Sister' was hot off the presses. I think 'Cotton Crown' may still be my favorite SY song.
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:11:03 PM
It's such a good song.
Andrew Gotobed 9:11:29 PM
i bought sister in 1990 without ever having heard SY because it was on everyone's best of the 80s lists in the zines i was reading back then. it's still one of my top 3 favorite albums ever
Teresa Peacock 9:11:35 PM
Heartily agree! <3
Steve Keane 9:13:06 PM
I wonder if Pilmer has it or maybe Jeff Winner
Teresa Peacock 9:13:26 PM
Also loved everything on the SST label. Boy, I miss that label!
Steve Keane 9:15:04 PM
SST was my jam
Marcus 9:15:06 PM
First Sonice Youth song I heard was Kill Yr Idols in '83 on PRB
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:15:28 PM
I can't remember the first Sonic Youth song I heard but I think it was something obvious like Teen Age Riot
Marcus 9:15:50 PM
I was hooked
yoni from kdu 9:16:18 PM
For me it was almost certainly "Tunic" in like 97 or 98
Andrew Gotobed 9:17:58 PM
this outro is amazing
yoni from kdu 9:18:03 PM
My friend and future housemate Ed was a South Jersey indie rock stoner and he introduced me to a lot of stuff that I probably should have heard already but missed cause I was too busy listening to KMFDM and Coil

This is a LongSong but not anywhere near as long as the next one!

Marcus 9:31:43 PM
Jon plays music for a transit through the Oort cloud

Steve Keane 9:35:58 PM
My 90s roommate was friends with the head Siltbreeze guy. I'm sure I met him at some point. But my roommate was a weed dealer so who knows? We were high all the time.

Richard Lyons 9:50:13 PM

Hi Richard!
Andrew Gotobed 9:51:16 PM
i still have some hope that the Fellers will make at least one more journey to the east coast
Rofflelectic TM 9:51:24 PM
Will Christmas time come this year Jon? We have many questions out here. :)
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:51:28 PM
I would love an excuse to go back to New Hope. I don't think I've been in years.
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:51:47 PM
I also want the Fellers here!
Marcus 9:51:54 PM
First Sunday Jazz Brunch will a full big band

Bring dem fellerz here
Andrew Gotobed 9:52:57 PM
new hope's been a bit sterilized by developers but it's still a fun place
Scooter France 9:53:57 PM
Thinking Fellers played a show at a small bar in my neighborhood in 2011 as a warm up gig for All Tomorrow's Parties since their drummer lives in Boston. I have no idea why I didn't go, but I didn't go and have eternally regretted it.
Andrew Gotobed 9:54:15 PM
i found this cd when they still sold cds and records during shows at the fu church
Steve Keane 9:54:31 PM
New Hope used to have a cool knife store. My favorite $5.00 Chinese knife is from there. I've had it 30 years and use it at work.
TAndy 9:55:04 PM
The knife and leather shop? It was still there when I went with a friend last year if that's the same spot
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:55:26 PM
I just want to keep playing the fellas...maybe summon them to New Jersey
Scooter France 9:55:32 PM
New Hope was one of why teenage stomping grounds since it was like a 20-30 minute drive from Quakertown (where I grew up) and it had Now and Then Records, another good record store I forget the name of, some good bookstores, and a cool vibe. I haven't been there in like 35 years and I'd kind of love to go back, but also would be kind of afraid of what it's like now
Rofflelectic TM 9:56:04 PM
@Steve Keane, I worked and lived on a boat in Seattle for a while and the cops let me cary a big fucking knife.
Dana K (in exile) (host) 9:57:14 PM
I went to New Hope a ton when I was a teenager. I think the last time I was there I stumbled into a steampunk convention and there were hundreds of people dressed like total dorks. I think that was 2014?
jimbooooo 9:57:16 PM
Such good Fellers
TAndy 9:58:54 PM
I wish I didn't miss out on these cool spots before modern times. NH last year was pretty cool, but it was super crowded and everything was quite frankly more expensive than I'd normally be willing to pay.
Rofflelectic TM 10:03:45 PM
I went to the eye doctors this week and the ultimate Steam Punk glasses are the one they check your eyes with.
