Speaking of Jack Endino...when I was in Seattle recently we drove past a small black building at the triangular intersection of two streets and I was shocked I immediately recognized it as where Bleach had been recorded.

A few years ago, I was unloading some records at a big vinyl sale, and this super adorable young punk couple found a Buzzoven single in my bin and were stoked beyond whatever you could possibly imagine. They were both full tatted out with band logos and were sporting crust pants and the corresponding battle vests, but seems like sweet kids -- wholesome, even. I gave them a steep discount on the Buzzoven record and they practically skipped away, happy as can be. A few hours later...

...I realized that I'd also been hawking Buzzoven's CASSETTE DEMO TAPE in a bin right next to the one they'd plied the vinyl from, and I'D FORGOTTEN TO BRING THIS TO THEIR ATTENTION. I WOULD'VE GIVEN IT TO THEM, BUT IO JUST TOTALLY SPACED.

There's a crust punk couple in my town. I see them at the grocery store sometimes -- very happy that their toddler-age child just looks like a normal kid and wears Thomas the Tank Engine shirts instead of kid-sized Extreme Noise Terror duds.

My friend Tim was playing drums for Aus-Rotten. As he tells it, they had a show at some venue / flophouse where one of the attendees was fast asleep. When said person awoke, they eventually discovered a member of the band had written "I missed Aus-Rotten" on their face in Sharpie.

That is why I never fall asleep at crust punk shows.
