It's been years since I've treated myself to a new pair of fancy shoes. Where do you even go to buy them now? I used to wander up 8th Street in Manhattan for this, but I suspect those places are all long gone. Nowadays I'm usually wearing Docs or skate sneakers, which I suppose condemns me to look like an 18 year old punk from the ankle down for the rest of my life.

I used to have a really nice pair of Fluevogs that were black and red. (Once prompting Pete from that band Enablers to compliment my "fly kicks", which I took as a major point of pride.)

Oh yeah, the Stanford band was kinda legendary/infamous when I was in the similarly irreverent Yale Precision Marching Band. I think our best cover was "Diabolos in Musica" (our arrangement of "Sympathy For the Devil").
