Hello Hello!
Number 6 5:00:19 PM
Greetings!
Lizbot (host) 5:00:21 PM
Doing a mostly upbeat and largely silly show today!
Lizbot (host) 5:00:26 PM
Hi Number 6!
Number 6 5:01:14 PM
I like silly!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:07 PM
@Number 6 - Excellent!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:56 PM
This song is pretty dark for a "goofy" theme - Not ALL silly!
Lizbot (host) 5:05:15 PM
Inadvertent footwear theme these first songs!
Krista Blodgett 5:06:02 PM
Love the theme
Lizbot (host) 5:06:58 PM
Hi Krista Blodgett!
Lizbot (host) 5:07:48 PM
@Krista Blodgett - I certainly could do a footwear theme some time, but this is kind of an accidental footwear theme for the first two songs! Mostly goofy and upbeat songs today though. BUt now i'm thinking about shoe songs!
Krista Blodgett 5:10:15 PM
Ah, i mean goofy!!
Lizbot (host) 5:11:53 PM
@Krista Blodgett - Ah! Yes, I felt chipper in this sunniness and wanted to make something silly today!
Lizbot (host) 5:22:49 PM
The chanting part of this song kills me
Lizbot (host) 5:27:06 PM
"High-precision ghosts"!
Danosaur🦖 5:27:58 PM
Hi Lizbot and fellow chatters!
Lizbot (host) 5:28:42 PM
Hi Danosaur🦖!
Amy Lee 5:29:04 PM
Hi Lizbot! Letting you know we're driving & signal was coming in strong & clear all the way to egg harbor-whp rt 30/rt 50.
Lizbot (host) 5:29:38 PM
Hi Amy Lee!
Lizbot (host) 5:29:59 PM
@Amy Lee - Nice! Gorgeous day for the shore!
Danosaur🦖 5:31:23 PM
You don't hear Albuquerque used as a lyric in many songs
Lizbot (host) 5:31:28 PM
@Amy Lee - Don't know if you're on your way to or from the shore, but I'm always happy when PRB comes in clear down the shore!
Lizbot (host) 5:32:01 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - True! Especially when paired with hot dogs and jumping frogs!
Danosaur🦖 5:32:17 PM
I mean, Bug Bunny was fond of Albuquerque although he often took a wrong turn there
Lizbot (host) 5:32:59 PM
@Danosaur🦖- ha! Now I will think of Bugs cartoons when I hear that song!
Mats Sabbath 5:33:08 PM
ah the mighty Frogs, excellent, dj
Danosaur🦖 5:33:27 PM
@Lizbot - that's not a bad thing
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 5:34:20 PM
Summoned by snake heads!
Lizbot (host) 5:34:28 PM
Hi Mats Sabbath! Glad you dig it. I saw Frogs live once, at the Khyber in Old City, Philly in the early 2000s. Dennis and Jimmy were decked out in shimmering capes and it was about a thousand degrees in there and I got lightheaded!
Danosaur🦖 5:34:32 PM
Are They Might Be Giants nerd rock?
Lizbot (host) 5:34:37 PM
Hi addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍!
Danosaur🦖 5:34:55 PM
Welcome snakes!
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 5:35:16 PM
Hello Danosaur! I think nerd rock is the perfect descriptor!
Lizbot (host) 5:35:17 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - I'd say so say (re: TMBG)
Mats Sabbath 5:35:28 PM
dj Lizbot rad re Frogs
Lizbot (host) 5:36:12 PM
@addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 - In the words of Russell Hoban in "Best Friends for Francis" - "I gotta go do my frog and snake work"
Lizbot (host) 5:36:50 PM
@Mats Sabbath - I'm glad I got to see them the one time at least!
Lizbot (host) 5:37:39 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Hell those Bugs cartoons introduced me to many great songs!
Danosaur🦖 5:37:53 PM
I wonder if The Frogs ever played The Pond arena in Anaheim?
Mats Sabbath 5:38:33 PM
SHRAMP BOAT
Lizbot (host) 5:38:43 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - I hope the frogs visited The Pond!
Danosaur🦖 5:39:08 PM
@Lizbot - Well, Chuck Jones loved opera and Carl Stalling was heavily influenced by Raymond Scott so some good stuff there
Lizbot (host) 5:39:08 PM
@Mats Sabbath - "shramp stamp" = shrimp boat themed tattoo
Mats Sabbath 5:39:35 PM
Haaaaaa!
Lizbot (host) 5:40:01 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Yes! It's the Raymond Scott "Powerhouse" stuff I alway think of when remembering old Bugs/warner cartoons! Like the baby climbing of the construction site girders!
Danosaur🦖 5:40:41 PM
@Lizbot - do you only see a shramp stamp when someone is bent over hauling in their nets?
Danosaur🦖 5:41:50 PM
@Lizbot - I have a CD of all Carl Stalling Warner Brothers cartoon music and I drive around playing it and it's like being in a cartoon
Lizbot (host) 5:49:00 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Yes! Lobstermen & shrimpers are known to love theme some late-80s Chicago post-rock!
Lizbot (host) 5:49:55 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Ooooh, that's appealing! I need to try driving around to Carl Stalling Warner Brothers cartoon music! I already have a lot of Raymond Scott and Piero Umiliano, which yield a similar effect!
Danosaur🦖 5:51:26 PM
@Lizzbot - Pizzicato Five works too as I'm sure many others do. Makes driving in traffic a little more bearable
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 5:52:46 PM
Lolllll, just coming back to “shramp stamp”
Lizbot (host) 5:53:23 PM
@addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 - Something to aspire to!
Danosaur🦖 5:54:26 PM
"Don't dream it - be it" as a wise person once said
Lizbot (host) 5:55:22 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - True! We heard from hotdogs earlier in King of Rock n' Roll, so why not from Dr. Frank-N-Furter?
Danosaur🦖 5:58:14 PM
@Lizbot - I relish the idea of that theme
Lizbot (host) 5:59:48 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - badum bum!
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 6:02:31 PM
I would 100% get a shramp stamp. My kid would be beyond delighted by it.
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 6:02:42 PM

@LoveTheYogaGuy 6:36:43 PM
Omg hi! I changed my name to my handle! This is cool
Lizbot (host) 6:38:36 PM
@adnan love shamsi - I love that song, and have played it before on the show (I am a huge Sparks fan!) but I instead played She's an Anchorman and just mentioned Now That I Own the BBC because it's on that EP of the same name
Mats Sabbath 6:38:49 PM
Cheer-Accident! Time signature masters.
Lizbot (host) 6:39:40 PM
@Mats Sabbath - I love when they sing this song live. Jeff Libersher usually makes everyone paper masks for this song. He wrote it about his summer camp experiences!
Kevin Schofield 6:39:54 PM
Hi Lizbot. Did you happen to see Aldous Harding at Underground Arts last night? Great show.
Lizbot (host) 6:40:21 PM
Hi Kevin Schofield!
Lizbot (host) 6:41:21 PM
@Kevin Schofield - Sadly, no! I would have liked to have gone, but I had to attend my teen's high school's "College Night" event!
Kevin Schofield 6:41:22 PM
I love her albums, but she’s a very odd performer.
Lizbot (host) 6:41:42 PM
@Kevin Schofield - I like a lot of her music videos. Did you go??
Lizbot (host) 6:42:25 PM
@Kevin Schofield - Of course The Barrel video is still my favorite. Love that crazy fabric tunnel and her nutty dance in that tall hat!
Kevin Schofield 6:43:45 PM
I did go. I got up pretty close. But she’s pretty unsettling to see. The most unusual stage presence you can imagine. I saw her at Union Transfer about 4 years ago but somehow managed to forget how weird she is.
@LoveTheYogaGuy 6:44:08 PM
Have to leave the car radio to get bubble tea - listening to “now that I own the bbc” on streaming 🙏

Can Jam!
Lizbot (host) 6:48:03 PM
@Mats Sabbath - Mashup between Can and The Jam...imagine that!
Kevin Schofield 6:48:08 PM
She did a little bit of dancing. Mostly she just stared very wide eyed at the audience, like you’re invading her space. And she just makes the weirdest sarcastic facial expressions, especially whenever you clap when the song ends. I thought it was performance art the first time, but she never lets up.
Lizbot (host) 6:48:30 PM
@Mats Sabbath - The Autumn Wind Is a Pirate is a masterpiece!
Kelly Nielsen 6:48:30 PM
Dug that Plum song!
Lizbot (host) 6:48:40 PM
Hi Kelly Nielsen! Glad you enjoyed it!
Kelly Nielsen 6:49:16 PM
Followed by the Minutemen, heck yeah
Mats Sabbath 6:49:24 PM
Minutemen, nice!
Kelly Nielsen 6:49:45 PM
And hi! DJ Lizbot
Lizbot (host) 6:50:35 PM
@Kelly Nielsen - Here's some more Plum!
Lizbot (host) 6:51:58 PM
@Kevin Schofield - oooh, yeah. Sounds similar to the vibe of when I saw Miranda July for New Yorker Fest a year or two ago, She seemed deeply uncomfortable on stage during her reading. Maybe she had a weird interaction right beforehand. I met her once way many years earlier at the screening of her first movie, Me You and Everyone We Know, and she was really relaxed and chatty then. But I felt bad being in the audience that most recent time, like she was miserable. I love her work!
Andrew Gotobed 6:53:15 PM
whoa! this is great
Lizbot (host) 6:53:17 PM
@Mats Sabbath / @ Kelly Nielsen - I love Minutemen so much, and that song never gets old!
Lizbot (host) 6:53:37 PM
@Andrew Gotobed - Glad you're digging it!
Andrew Gotobed 6:54:33 PM
also, the minutemen are undoubtedly on my mt rushmore of artists
Lizbot (host) 6:56:24 PM
@Andrew Gotobed - oh yes, I love them so much. The Anchor is one of my favorite songs ever by not just them but any band. Mike Watt said it was the first song the band ever wrote over 2 minutes long up until that point
Lizbot (host) 6:56:40 PM
@Andrew Gotobed - Also love that We Jam Econo doc about them!

Lizbot Me You and Everyone We Know is wild. That dude sets his hand on fire and shows everyone LOL. Gibby of Butthole Surfers move LOL
Lizbot (host) 7:07:02 PM
@Mats Sabbath - ha! That little kid and the crazy chat graphic! That movie had a pretty good score too
Mats Sabbath 7:07:57 PM
Miranda's newer film Kajillionaire is wild too
@LoveTheYogaGuy 7:09:26 PM
Thanks for sharing this music and this chat option is fire 🔥 -as they sa - btw I just got an insane croissant wrapped inside of a chocolate chip cookie from “Tous Les Jours” and a flattened crispy pecan croissant to share with my yoga students after tonight’s class - plus “Mango Mango” has some insane offerings as well - this stuff seems to go well with this music - cheers! 🥂 (oh I don’t usually shop these joints but this music got me hungering for unusual tastes) happy listening to all beings
Lizbot (host) 7:10:48 PM
@Mats Sabbath - Kajillionaire is my absolute favorite of hers!! I have watched it several times and made my family watch it! Just those saturated pastels alone are so gorgeous. Beautiful cinematography! I love dance in the gas station bathroom between Old Dolio and Melanie. The score is great too. I've played it on this show!
Mats Sabbath 7:10:53 PM
Family Fodder !
Lizbot (host) 7:12:29 PM
@LoveTheYogaGuy - That all sounds deeply delicious! I am a sucker for the bubble tea places! I'll take one of those pecan croissants!
Lizbot (host) 7:14:24 PM
@LoveTheYogaGuy - I love an oolong or Earl Grey milk tea with boba when the boba's still warm! Now dreaming of teaaaa
@LoveTheYogaGuy 7:17:13 PM
Btw check out the soundtrack for film “Teenage Sex & Death at Camp Miasma” - if you love this music I’ll bet you’ll LOVE IT!
Carlos Ramone 7:18:35 PM
Good evening all
Lizbot (host) 7:18:58 PM
Good evening, Carlos Ramone!
Lizbot (host) 7:19:36 PM
@LoveTheYogaGuy - I have it! played one song from it on this show a few weeks ago. Love the movie!
Dale Hazelton 7:29:07 PM
haven't been chatty but been enjoying. thanks!
Lizbot (host) 7:30:02 PM
@Dale Hazelton - Glad you're digging it! Keeping the energy high to fend off my struggle with the fact the sun is setting 2/3 of the way into my program these days!
Dale Hazelton 7:32:17 PM
yes, and it doesn't come up until after 6:30am too.
Dale Hazelton 7:33:02 PM
i really need to make a sparks pandora channel, i'm not super familiar but love everything i hear.
Lizbot (host) 7:36:15 PM
@Dale Hazelton - Sparks is so great and the perfect band to take a deep-dive into because they have 26 studio albums plus EPs, live releases etc
Mats Sabbath 7:37:00 PM
!!
Lizbot (host) 7:37:31 PM
@Dale Hazelton - Yeah, approaching the autumn equinox and less daylight is really messing with my sleep schedule and energy levels! I got basically no sleep last week and it was a very busy week. This week I was super tired until today!
Dale Hazelton 7:39:46 PM
jumping off but keeping my ears on. have a great night.
Rofflelectic 7:39:48 PM
I have to put my face in the window to tune into the light every morning now so my body can figure out what time it is without me having to explain it with coffee.
Lizbot (host) 7:40:37 PM
'Night, Dale Hazelton! Have a good week!
Mats Sabbath 7:41:25 PM
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/9oQAAOSwEeFVBkmL/s-l1200.jpg spooky seazon is upon us!
Lizbot (host) 7:41:43 PM
@Rofflelectic - Yeah man, we are so tuned to sunlight, it's crazy how drastically changes in the season affect sleep and mood!
michael gudgeon 7:41:54 PM
great set lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 7:42:14 PM
Hi michael gudgeon! THank you!
Mats Sabbath 7:42:22 PM
Roff haaaaaa! I just go straight to coffee.
Rofflelectic 7:43:11 PM
@Mats, coffee is my friend too :)
Lizbot (host) 7:43:12 PM
@Rofflelectic / @Mats Sabbath - Coffee is a cruel mistress. I love it, but it can cause me to be up for days with little to no sleep!
Rofflelectic 7:44:30 PM
I can have too much and it makes me tired sometimes.
Mats Sabbath 7:44:30 PM
dayum!!
Carlos Ramone 7:45:31 PM
@liz.. what is the latest that you will have a caffeinated beverage? I see lines at Starbucks in Duncan at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and I wonder how those people are getting to sleep
Rofflelectic 7:46:06 PM
4pm is teatime, is it not?
Mats Sabbath 7:46:42 PM
Sleep is overrated. Hasn't been the same since Matt Pike left. Kidding!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:46:55 PM
Blue Flower :-DD
Lizbot (host) 7:47:08 PM
@Rofflelectic - I think when coffee makes me tired it's the cycle of caffeine energy and caffeine-fueled sleep deprivation doubling over on itself!
Lizbot (host) 7:48:09 PM
@Carlos Ramone - yeah i can't do 4 pm caffeine unless i have a deadline and KNOW i gotta stay up all night, and these days I avoid that because it will mess me up for days
Lizbot (host) 7:48:24 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Love this song so much!
Rofflelectic 7:48:41 PM
@Lizbot, I get that. Once the clock is over wound things get weird.
Lizbot (host) 7:49:13 PM
@Rofflelectic - 3 pm is i think teatime, time for cucumber sandwiches eaten with the pinky finger aloft! And don't forget about elevenses!
Mats Sabbath 7:49:39 PM
Haaaaaa! High Tea!
Rofflelectic 7:49:52 PM
3PM is more reasonable.
Lizbot (host) 7:49:58 PM
@Mats Sabbath - Ha. He was too high on fire
Mats Sabbath 7:50:14 PM
it's bong o' clock somewhere!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:50:14 PM

Mats Sabbath 7:50:51 PM
Lizbot lol
Rofflelectic 7:51:13 PM
Bong o' clock! lol I want a bong clock now!
Carlos Ramone 7:51:30 PM
@matt… I always say it doesn’t matter what time it is just how long you’ve been awake for
Lizbot (host) 7:51:57 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Oh nooooo! JK, that's not bad at all! But still, can't replace Dagmar!
Mats Sabbath 7:52:11 PM
Carlos so true
Lizbot (host) 7:53:17 PM
@Rofflelectic - These early sunsets are making it unreasonably difficult for me to pretend summer is still here!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:53:22 PM
@Lizbot, all blue flowers are nice :-)
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:53:57 PM
And ty for your show tonight
Lizbot (host) 7:54:00 PM

Mats Sabbath 7:54:04 PM
Fun show Lizbot! You always have such great energy and interesting curation. Grazi!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:54:31 PM
I wonder what a band called Blue Crayola would sound like
Mats Sabbath 7:54:31 PM
RobMD blue flowers are a theme in A Scanner Darkly!
Lizbot (host) 7:54:36 PM
@Mats Sabbath - Thanks! And thanks for hanging in the chat!
TAndy 7:54:58 PM
Thanks Liz!
Lizbot (host) 7:55:22 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - We'd have to ask Mayo Thompson! Would it sound the opposite of the Red Crayola?!
Lizbot (host) 7:55:27 PM
Thanks TAndy!
Number 6 7:55:52 PM

Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:56:02 PM
