Howdy Rob. You ever read any George Pelecanos novels? He's a fave of mine -- crime fiction writer who often stages his plots in DC and Maryland. Cracked into one of his books this week and now my dreams are plagued by the presence of a drug runner from Hagerstown.

Kristin Hersh's voice getting better and better. I am a fan of the underrated Throwing Muses since forever.

Also re: Pelecanos, I recommend starting with either "Nick's Trip" or "Down by the River Where the Dead Men Go".
