Tim (host) 11:38:11 PM
yep it kinda is ...
TAndy 11:39:50 PM
Yeppers. The storms made flying back an ordeal but it's over now
Tim (host) 11:40:08 PM
mann did you have bad turbulence?
Tim (host) 11:40:20 PM
or just delays
TAndy 11:41:06 PM
Both!
Tim (host) 11:42:32 PM
oooff so far ive never had bad turbulace- if i did i think it owuld be my last flight- welp you back in good ole nj ... where theres a wawa on every town ...
TAndy 11:42:50 PM
Direct flight from GUA to EWR late Monday night cancelled, replaced with a Tuesday morning flight to HOU then a quick transfer to EWR. The connecting flight was delayed then delayed then delayed then canceled, ran across the terminal for another connecting flight that was also cancelled, but placed on a late morning flight to MIA, then a 5 hour layover till an evening flight back to EWR. Got back just before midnight on Wednesday, had to get our luggage from the MASSIVE temp holding area.
Tim (host) 11:42:55 PM
what is the wawa in guadamala - or do they jsut have bodagas
Tim (host) 11:43:33 PM
ohhhh man
Tim (host) 11:43:51 PM
brutal
TAndy 11:44:06 PM
Just corner stores out there, but the city did somehow have a Circle K and of course 7-11's. Most of the Shell gas stations had the typical mini marts too, but we just stuck with local supermarkets. They have milk on the counter AND in the fridge! Counter milk tasted super rich and delicious
Tim (host) 11:44:40 PM
holy crap 7-11 ;s in gudamala - aint that a corker
TAndy 11:44:48 PM
I kept making Wawa jokes though, maybe in a decade they'll expand to LatAm lol
Tim (host) 11:44:53 PM
really milk in the open air no refrig?
Tim (host) 11:45:05 PM
oooohhhh they willl.....
C Monsta 11:45:22 PM
counter milk builds character!
Tim (host) 11:45:32 PM
yeah it does
TAndy 11:45:52 PM
Yeah, it's a different pasteurization process to allow milk to sit at room temp. It lasts for a really long time too, unopened or opened then stored in the fridge.
Tim (host) 11:46:05 PM
i see...
TAndy 11:46:29 PM
I think Canada does that too with their bagged milk. The US has a huge refrigeration culture though so of course we don't really see that here. Same with the eggs
Tim (host) 11:47:20 PM
huh wonder what that is all about .... i wil consult the internet
C Monsta 11:47:55 PM
i wonder if counter milk has sodium added? good ol usa non-refrigerated creamers are pretty much salt milk.
Tim (host) 11:48:25 PM
hmm i kinda got a non answer form the magic thinking box
Tim (host) 11:48:30 PM
The United States refrigerates milk because of pasteurization methods, supply chain preferences, and consumer habits. Other countries often store milk at room temperature because they use an ultra-high-temperature processing method and aseptic packaging that makes the unopened milk shelf-stable
C Monsta 11:51:52 PM
my boss checking in on my internet searches next week, why is he so interested in pasteurization? 🤣
Tim (host) 11:53:12 PM
Thats funny...
TAndy 11:58:10 PM
Yep, over here it's heated to a certain temp for 15 seconds then rapidly cooled. Ultra pasteurization uses extreme heat for just a few seconds. I honestly prefer the slightly cooked taste of UHT, much of the milk here tastes watery except for Clover Farms and Cream-O-Land.
TAndy 11:58:21 PM
Clover Farms in general just has the best drinks. Best iced tea too imo
Tim (host) 11:58:58 PM
Duly noted we will put you down as a clover farms person in your wprb file
TAndy 11:59:10 PM
yay
Tim (host) 11:59:12 PM
( there is no wprb file)
TAndy 11:59:30 PM
Big love to whoever at Lawrence Middle School decided to stock the canteen with CF icy tea when I was a kid
Tim (host) 11:59:39 PM
But a may start one .... regarding listeners dairy prefernces--- i have too much time on my hands and eeryone need a hobby
Tim (host) 11:59:48 PM
lol
TAndy 12:01:07 AM
2% is the best milk
C Monsta 12:05:31 AM
i don't ever drink milk, but i use half and half all day. in my coffee, pancake mix, powder based mac and cheese. half and half.
Tim (host) 12:05:40 AM
are you sure you want to divulge that info.... its all going into your wprb "dairy file"
Tim (host) 12:06:05 AM
C monsta your information is noted as well and will go in your "file"
C Monsta 12:06:26 AM
