Bike R 10:16:39 AM
ELP. Mixed feelings about their music. Formative, but somehow lacking?
DJ G.O. (host) 10:18:25 AM
Hmmmmm I can agree in some aspects just because it's very classically based, which can sound pretty mundane at some points, but it's hard to deny a song like this has some fantastic moments
DJ G.O. (host) 10:18:42 AM
WELCOME BUD BURROUGHS
Bud Burroughs 10:19:14 AM
Hey Ho G.O.
Bud Burroughs 10:19:59 AM
As much as I love ELP, they're not often a band I choose to put on and listen to.
Bike R 10:29:22 AM
Yes. Because they're somehow lacking

Bud Burroughs 10:31:25 AM
And there's DTO, right on time!
DJ G.O. (host) 10:31:41 AM
I AGREE BRIAN D AND WELCOME TO THE CHAT :)
Bud Burroughs 10:32:01 AM
Brain Salad Surgery is probably my favorite of their records
DJ G.O. (host) 10:32:33 AM
And to think that title came from Dr. John is crazy
Bud Burroughs 10:32:34 AM
And G.O., you're right that 10cc has been kind of overlooked in this country. They had a lot more success in England.
Bud Burroughs 10:44:21 AM
There's currently a Karn Evil 9 movie in production. I have no idea what to expect.
DJ G.O. (host) 10:44:43 AM
NO FREAKING WAY
DJ G.O. (host) 10:45:01 AM
MY DAY JUST IMPROVED EXPONENTIALLY
Bud Burroughs 10:46:13 AM
I've seen it described as "dystopian sci-fi" which seems about right
Bud Burroughs 10:48:27 AM
Moog rhymes with "vogue"
Brian D 10:48:36 AM
Moog sounds more like vogue yes
Bike R 10:50:00 AM

Show me who says your pronunciation of bagel & horrible are wrong. We'll draw all over them w/crowns & cover them w/melted carmels.
DJ G.O. (host) 11:03:41 AM
HAHAHAHAHHA AMY LEE ITS A PLAN
Roffleaphonic 11:04:44 AM

Ride on! Bike R!
Amy Lee 11:44:22 AM
Chat - I'm curious. Pooling from a commercial radio format of classic rock etc, who are some of the mainstream bands/musicians that are considered a 'gateway' to prog - that opened the way for you?
Bike R 11:46:57 AM
@Amy Allman bros. But what is prog really?
DJ G.O. (host) 11:50:20 AM
@amy Lee I would say it is any music that changes over time, I personally love Genesis after Peter Gabriel left but Phil collins was new to singing (AKA before the pop years), Some of that is just catchy enough to be fun but not proggy enough to be annoying
Amy Lee 11:51:59 AM
Bike R - A fair point, but there's always a start to going down the rabbit hole.
Roffleaphonic 11:54:01 AM
Yes was the band. Roundabout is simply brilliant.
Bike R 11:54:27 AM
@Amy Lee Always willling to go down a rabbit hole. What's your prog band?
Amy Lee 11:57:07 AM
I appreciate prog but can't say I have really embraced it..(?). But Yes would be in there if I did.
Roffleaphonic 11:57:15 AM
That was really good G.O.! Thanks for putting that together.
