Greetings to Marvin and his listeners . Good morning also . I often played Marvin’s shows on my small radio in the break room at various USPS sites when I was working. The people thought I was some kind of alien
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:08:53 AM
BAM! Hey Marvin! I saw the Philly Orchestra for the first time ever last night for the debut of A Hundred Years On: A New Oratorio About the 1876 Centennial Exposition with The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Crossing. It was really cool! Beautiful night at the Mann
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:09:01 AM
Heres more info on that piece: https://highmarkmann.org/events/2026-06-17/hundred-years
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:09:40 AM
I don't normally go out to see orchestral music, even though I regularly catch your programs, so I was thinking of you!
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:16:51 AM
Glad Chef you got to hear that!! Lots of great music out there!! Was the place crowed?
Patrick White 9:23:56 AM
Great job by Chef. The 1876 Exposition was one of Philadelphia shining moments. An early version of the 1965 nyc Worlds Fair.
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:24:41 AM
I'm not sure the average level of attendance for something like that but it seemed pretty well attended! I wouldnt say crowded but under the pavilion was pretty full I'd say!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:25:42 AM
Yes, Mrs Lagasse and I love that worlds fair, so thats what brought us out. Cool to see an performance of a piece about the 1876 exposition in the site where it happened
Patrick White 9:30:46 AM
Love the Mann formerly Robin Hood Dell West. Van Cliburn used to draw crowds of 50 k. Great venue, nice people on staff but after 100 years could they please get the parking enter and exit figured out.
Patrick White 9:40:26 AM
Everyone have a great day and enjoy your weekend. Thanks for Double Duty Marvin
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 9:41:23 AM

Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 9:43:18 AM
Really enjoying this morning's show. Thank you @Marvin for the continuing treat of Early Music this summer.
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:45:54 AM
Parking wasn't difficult yesterday since the crowd wasn't huge, BUT this year they have started charging for parking (25 in advance, 30 day-of), after years of it being free, which is unfortunate. definitely takes some of the charm away (and money out of my wallet)
Chef Emeril Lagasse 9:45:58 AM
BAM christine!
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:48:27 AM
I want to thank you all so much for joining me today for Treasures of Early Music!! I will be back on Wednesday morning next week for Classical Discoveries!!
