Welcome. Dave here hosting Sangeet this morning
Roffleaphonic 9:11:42 AM
Good morning Dave. That bass is a cool juxtaposition of stuff this morning.
Sangeet Team (host) 9:12:16 AM
glad you are enjoying , Roffle. Good morning
Roffleaphonic 9:13:10 AM
Yes indeed, very good thank you.
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:15:06 AM
Good morning Dave and Roffle!!
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:15:32 AM
I need to update my call sign, I got two more snakes last night 😝
Roffleaphonic 9:16:05 AM
Hi addie adder!
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:16:41 AM
No adders, just 2 ball pythons, 1 Amazon tree boa, and 2 new Kenyan sand boas.
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:17:11 AM
These poor little boas were in dire need. They are very undersized and have not been well taken care of.
Sangeet Team (host) 9:17:17 AM
good morning, addie.
Sangeet Team (host) 9:17:35 AM
what will you feed them?
Roffleaphonic 9:18:07 AM
So that why Kenyans are such good runners. The snakes!
Sangeet Team (host) 9:29:07 AM
Is there Purina Boa Chow?
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:33:31 AM
They just eat frozen/thawed small mice. We don’t feed any of the snakes live prey. It can be dangerous for the snakes if they get scratched or bitten.
Sangeet Team (host) 9:35:31 AM
that makes sense
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:51:54 AM
How are you staying cool for the rest of the weekend Dave? I’m planning to move as little as possible 😂
Sangeet Team (host) 9:54:02 AM
Oh, I excel at moving as little as possible. I'll stretch out on the chaise lounge and prepare for Friday's show in the air conditioning
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 9:54:22 AM
Good morning Dave 🫖, Roffle, and Addie 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 (wow, 5 snakes! Congratulations!)
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 9:54:25 AM
That sounds fantastic. We are trying to hold off on AC as much as possible because electric in Philly is SO HIGH.
Sangeet Team (host) 9:55:25 AM
I try to limit as well, but the kiddos gripe about the heat
Sangeet Team (host) 9:55:52 AM
oh good morning, Christine
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 10:01:47 AM
Hi Christine!!
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:02:21 AM
I love this station ID 🪷 Incidentally, it's Laurie Anderson's birthday today.
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 10:02:36 AM
No one needs griping kiddos in this kinda weather, Dave. I hear ya. We do keep one on in the bedroom at night and our teen sleeps on our chaise.
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 10:04:01 AM
Christine, we seem to just attract snakes in need. 4 of the five were adoptions!
Sangeet Team (host) 10:04:14 AM
@ Christine: "Yeah, I knew that", says the unconvincing DJ
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:04:22 AM
I concur with the use of fans and the keeping of one air conditioner in the bedroom for when it gets too hot and you need to sleep.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:04:38 AM
Yes, our ceiling fans help a lot
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 10:04:50 AM
When I was a kid all four of us slept on the floor in our parents’ room.
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:05:16 AM
@DTO, 🙂 I didn't know until a few minutes ago. I saw a post on The Social Media.
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:06:06 AM
@Addie, you're wonderful to adopt snakes in need of a good home. They're lucky to get adopted by you. 💚
Sangeet Team (host) 10:07:29 AM
We used to use a box fan in one bedroom window to pull some cool night air through the bedrooms
Sangeet Team (host) 10:09:03 AM
sometimes, though, it was just muggy summer air
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:10:29 AM
Those box fans can work pretty well at night.
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:10:58 AM
If there is cooler night air to be had. 🌃
Sangeet Team (host) 10:13:13 AM
It's on my trips to India when I am reminded how comparatively mild we have it here. One time it was 112 degrees , with an overnight low of 90. 😓
Sangeet Team (host) 10:14:54 AM
And the AC won't help when there are rolling blackouts
Sangeet Team (host) 10:15:06 AM
If they even have AC
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:15:47 AM
That certainly puts everything into perspective.
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:21:33 AM
😰
Sangeet Team (host) 10:21:34 AM
Delhi hit 122 degrees in May 2024
addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 10:23:30 AM
Good grief!! That’s unbearable.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:24:12 AM
that's when folks start dropping from heat stroke
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 10:41:32 AM
That's scary. Those are the conditions for deadly "wet bulb" temperatures that kill people (and animals).
Sangeet Team (host) 10:45:47 AM
especially the poor that need to keep working to get paid to buy food
Karen Swaine 11:13:08 AM
good morning! Ever see Latcho Drom? This is probably the group that starts off the film... in fact it sounds like the song they sing! it's one of our favorite films.
Sangeet Team (host) 11:17:17 AM
good morning, Karen. No, 😞 I still have not seen that film
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 11:27:12 AM
I really enjoyed that last piece. The flute was so expressive and moving.
Sangeet Team (host) 11:27:58 AM
Yes, Shashank is amazing
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 11:31:17 AM
I'll have to dig more into Shashank Subramanyam.
Sangeet Team (host) 11:32:26 AM
I was lucky to see him perform in Princeton many years ago
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 11:38:23 AM
That's wonderful!
Christine 𓅓𓅥 𓅊 11:56:52 AM
Cheers for Sangeet this morning, @DtO. Stay cool, everybody 🥤
