Hello Hello!
Number 6 5:02:19 PM
Greetings!
Alex Crowe 5:02:29 PM
Hi Lizbot. Thats good!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:33 PM
Hi Number 6!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:40 PM
Hi Alex Crowe!
Roy Cole 5:03:46 PM
Hi Liz!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:55 PM
Hi Roy Cole!
Lizbot (host) 5:05:22 PM
@Alex Crowe - Referring to the Tropicalia?
Alex Crowe 5:05:27 PM
Just feels like an ocean breeze.
Lizbot (host) 5:06:40 PM
@Alex Crowe - True! I tend to break out the Tropicalia records more in the spring/summer and definitely when down the shore!
Ted 5:08:42 PM
Have you heard Birds by Melanie Horsnell? Just brilliant IMO
Lizbot (host) 5:09:05 PM
Hi Ted!
Lizbot (host) 5:09:21 PM
@Ted - I don't believe so! Subject matter I like, too!
Lizbot (host) 5:10:37 PM
@Ted - I see that it originally came with a "Bonus CD-ROM Video" in 2003. I have a few of those still lying around! Not of her music, but I will need to amend that
Ted 5:11:32 PM
Australian artist 2005. Fabulous album.
Alex Crowe 5:11:46 PM
Saw Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists at the Stone Pony. I beleive they were students of his. Viruousity yes, but super creepy.
Lizbot (host) 5:12:38 PM
@Ted - Looks like that was her first album/ep. I see something from as recently as 2019
Ted 5:13:33 PM
I saw Fripp WITH the Crafty Guitarists in Berlin. In a sort of classroom. Wild stuff
Ted 5:14:30 PM
Melanie’s debut LP. Sadly she never topped it.
Lizbot (host) 5:15:00 PM
@Alex Crowe - I'm heading back to Asbury Park and The Stone Pony in June to take the teen to a show
Lizbot (host) 5:15:29 PM
@Ted - Re: Fripp & LoCG - Nice! - How long ago?
Lizbot (host) 5:18:09 PM
@Alex Crowe - Haha, why creepy? Fripp is teaching one of his guitar workshops in upstate NY soon. My husband always entertains the idea of attending those, but the timing is never right! We have a couple friends who attended his workshops and there is an element where he basically has you meditate/stare at a wall, probably a Gurdjieff thing, and that part would drive George up the wall!
Lizbot (host) 5:18:31 PM
@Ted - Bummer that she never topped it! I'm adding it to my list of music to check out
Ted 5:19:10 PM
March 1991
Alex Crowe 5:20:12 PM
Telex may have just won the show!
Lizbot (host) 5:21:44 PM
@Ted - Ah, a King Crimson hiatus period/side projects era!
Alex Crowe 5:21:45 PM
Creepy in a sort of cult vibe. All eyes and ears on the master. Lots of follow the leader and handing off. All carefully synchronized. Hard to describe.
Lizbot (host) 5:22:25 PM
@Alex Crowe - haha, yeah, I lived their album title last summer when driving in hellacious traffic in the South of France looking for St. Tropez!
Lizbot (host) 5:25:14 PM
@Alex Crowe - Oh yeah, he has his serious devotees, for sure! I don't buy into all his Gurdjieff stuff, but I admire his "Discipline"! Impressive, for sure. Gotta admire his work ethic and dedication to practicing many hours a day (not so much now that he's basically retired, he's making goofy cover videos with Toyah and feeding birds in his garden a lot these days!)
Lizbot (host) 5:29:53 PM
@Alex Crowe - Speaking of Crimson devotees, my husband spent a lot of time on the "Elephant Talk" online bulletin board in the 90s! ha. Lots of KC fans debating and exchanging guitar tablature
Alex Crowe 5:30:12 PM
Incredible ability and great results born of diligent study. Discipline album is spot on.
Lizbot (host) 5:31:18 PM
@Alex Crowe - Yes. Of course, not necessarily easy to work with! He seems affable enough, but he certainly demands excellence! Has a sense of humor though!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:47 PM
@Alex Crowe / @Ted - Speaking of Fripp guitar workshops, one of our friends who attended is Reg Bloor, guitarist in the Paranoid Critical Revolution, and wife of the late composer Glenn Branca, and she has put together a memorial performance of Glenn's "Hallucination City" for 100 guitars at Lincoln Center on June 12th!
Alex Crowe 5:33:51 PM
Saw King Crimson on the Discipline album tour. Went in expecting old KC and got my mind blown by the new stuff. It turned out to be more up my alley. Glad he's got a sense of humor.
Lizbot (host) 5:40:27 PM
@Alex Crimson - Ah, well that's another thing i like about Fripp - Not afraid to try new things musically! Not married to one line-up of King Crimson (much to Adrian Belew's frustration!)
Zach 5:41:49 PM
Beep Boop Whrrrr, Lizbot
thomas hatch 5:42:04 PM
Hey LB! Did you get to see Adrian Belew and Steve Vai ?
Lizbot (host) 5:42:06 PM
Hi Zach!
Lizbot (host) 5:42:14 PM
Hi Thomas Hatch!
Lizbot (host) 5:42:27 PM
@Zach - 0100101010111000101010
Lizbot (host) 5:42:43 PM
@Thomas Hatch - Yes! At the Keswick. Good show!
Lizbot (host) 5:43:28 PM
@Thomas Hatch - I'm glad Belew's out there doing the Beat era stuff.
Lizbot (host) 5:44:35 PM
@Thomas Hatch - I still don't think of any live version of KC without Fripp as proper King Crimson, but I do love that era of KC and Adrian Belew put together a great show. And of course Tony Levin is there for both iterations! Tony is a busy guy!
Ted 5:44:39 PM
Fripp humor: I met him briefly after a LoG concert in DC. I showed him a brochure from Fripp Island SC. His reply: Ah yes, founded by a pirate I believe! Good times
Lizbot (host) 5:45:01 PM
@Thomas Hatch - I will also just see solo Belew doing his own material because I like that stuff as well. Seen him many times
Lizbot (host) 5:46:21 PM
@Ted - haha, I can just hear his voice in my head saying that! Ever heard his sister, the motivational speaker, Patricia Fripp speak? She sounds just like him! A certain cadence
Alex Crowe 5:48:07 PM
Sliced tomatoes riddim.
Lizbot (host) 5:49:33 PM
@Alex Crowe - That's just making me hungry
Ted 5:51:16 PM
I am familiar with Patricia F. Never attended a seminar though.
GhettoCabbage 5:51:57 PM
More fall babey!!! RIP MES
Lizbot (host) 5:52:31 PM
@Ted - I'm not interested in her seminars, but I stumbled upon a video of she & Fripp reminiscing about their childhood years ago and that led me to click on some of her seminar videos out of curiosity
Ted 5:53:54 PM
Speaking of Cheer-Accident, are you aware of the Aadam Jacobs collection on the Internet Archive. Chicago music lover who taped thousands of concerts that are being made available for free download. I counted 28 C-A shows from 2001-17. Truly amazing story
Lizbot (host) 5:54:26 PM
Hi GhettoCabbage! Mark E. Smith came to be interviewed by the DJ that used to be on air directly before me 23/24 years ago, Greg Lyon, and they got along like gangbusters! Greg was worried beforehand due to MES's reputation as a bit of a salty guy! I was at an ill-fated Fall show in Philly where MES yelled at the band the whole set and then left!
Ted 5:55:00 PM
Sorry! “Only” 18 shows for free!
Lizbot (host) 5:55:42 PM
@Ted - Oh wow! Like Philly's "Taper Tom"!
Lizbot (host) 5:58:08 PM
@Ted - I will have to check that out. Fellow Cheer-Accident fan Deb in Baltimore send me a DVD-R of a CA concert she filmed there years ago. I have quit a few I recorded - All Philly shows from the Table Space, Avant Gentleman's Lodge, The Rotunda, etc, from 2003 to the present! But do not have them all organized or online! In one they play a tribute to my birds!
Ted 6:01:02 PM
So far I’ve downloaded a couple of Shonen Knife and Neil Innes(!) shows. It’s intimidating.
Alex Crowe 6:02:12 PM
Digging this Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Ted 6:02:22 PM
Unless I’m mistaken, Ron Mael’s best friend was in Telex.
Lizbot (host) 6:03:07 PM
@Ted - Taper Tom (Tom Lindel Lieis) was a real fixture in the Philly avant composed and improvisational and jazz music scenes. Always saw him at Fire Museum Presents, Bowerbird Presents, etc. shows. He generally kept to himself. Suddenly, he stopped showing up about a year ago and we found out he had passed away

Lizbot (host) 6:09:40 PM
@Ted - Ron Mael's best friend? You must be talking about Marc Moulin, right? I know they worked with each other in the past.
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 6:10:39 PM

Lizbot (host) 6:10:49 PM

@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - Yeah, I am really digging this new Naná Rizinni stuff!
Lizbot (host) 6:11:53 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - It seems a lot of people are sick lately!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:13:52 PM
@Lizbot, I did snap when I saw my body temp had gone high. I have seen that many people are sick. It has been sooo long since was this sick I've completely forgottern about how it fels

@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Ughhh. Awful. I got a real doozy of a flu the end of January and had the whole high fever/chills thing. I was really out of it for days. Too many bad bugs circulating these days! Seems worse than ever
Ted 6:18:40 PM
There’s a Sparks cover of Tell Me It’s A Dream on YouTube from Marc’s memorial.
Lizbot (host) 6:18:49 PM
@Ossy - haha, does she carry that chair around to meet the eyes of taller fans?! Funny!
Alex Crowe 6:19:21 PM
I'm finding the older I get the nastier ANY virus gets. Hoping you get well quickly Rob.
Ossy 6:19:58 PM
liz - i guess to be like that,to make up her fun sizeness, looool
Ted 6:20:22 PM
I see Taper Tom is getting the Aadam Jacobs treatment since last year on the Internet Archive. Lots of shows being uploaded by someone.
Lizbot (host) 6:21:03 PM
@Ted - Oh nice. Very sad he didn't make it out of his 60s
Kelly Nielsen 6:21:09 PM
Chameleons :)
Lizbot (host) 6:21:36 PM
@Ted - I wonder if Mark Foreman is uploading them. He kept track of Taper Tom and had a small memorial gathering for him
Lizbot (host) 6:21:50 PM

Hi Danosaur🦖!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:29:14 PM
@Alex, I've been really lucky. If anything, the reverse happened ... I used to get terribly sick every winter, but after I passed age 38 it was not too bad
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:30:03 PM
And @Alex, ty for your get well wishes. Maybe I'm actually finally growing old?
Lizbot (host) 6:30:13 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Yeah, I mean I think my immune system took a hit during the pandemic and I just get sick more easily now.
Lizbot (host) 6:31:01 PM
More Fall!
GhettoCabbage 6:32:31 PM
Hell yeah!!!!!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:33:06 PM
@Lizbot, I remember your flu in January. I'm glad you are over it now. So far my body temp has only hit 100.6; it had been 99.5 or so until my last nap a couple of hours ago
Lizbot (host) 6:34:11 PM
@GhettoCabbage - Glad you were still around to catch the return of MES. The second coming of Mark!
Marcus 6:34:39 PM
Lizbot hello!
jimbooooo 6:35:03 PM
I....mgoin'taspain
Lizbot (host) 6:35:36 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - I was a wreck! So out of it. The streaming version of the Sundance Film Fest coincided with that awful flu, so I holed up on the sofa streaming a ton of films and drifting in and out of sleep
Lizbot (host) 6:35:44 PM
Hi Marcus!
Lizbot (host) 6:35:50 PM
Hi jimbooooo!
Lizbot (host) 6:37:06 PM
@jimbooooo - I wish I was 35 years old, but I'll still gladly go to Spain! I listened to that song when it was kinda new when I was in college and visited my friend from school in Madrid and I remember thinking, "damn, that's old!"
Lizbot (host) 6:37:27 PM
@jimbooooo - I like when MES gets sentimental
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:37:31 PM
@Lizbot, I was/we were lucky during the pandemic. I was working at home anyway, and my wife's outfit (a professional association) took precautions and were sent home very early compared to other outfits around DC
Kelly Nielsen 6:39:29 PM
It doesn't look like there were any Chameleons west coast shows?
Lizbot (host) 6:39:58 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - That was lucky! I had a school-aged kid, so a little tricky to reign her in, but she was remoted schooled most of that time
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:40:18 PM
Lizbot, I've taken four naps today and had just my normal basal amount of coffee. I see the same thing in my future tomorrow. And dang, I'm sick enough that I didn't realize that your playing The Fall a few minutes ago
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:41:25 PM
your = you were
Lizbot (host) 6:44:54 PM
@Kelly Nielsen - I guess not? I dunno, I didn't keep track! I just wanted them to play a venue other than Underground Arts in Philly because it's a venue with bad sightlines - in a basement with huge columns in the way of the stage! They came to Philly in 2025 too, well to the Philly 'burbs, Ardmore Music Hall, but I was on air!
Lizbot (host) 6:46:00 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Oh dear, The Fall Detection Sensors failure level of illness! Yikes!
Lizbot (host) 6:47:20 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - ooof. I have a very full weekend and don't want to get sick beforehand, but I was just meeting with someone today who was sneezing quite a bit and I told myself hopefully he has allergies...
Danosaur🦖 6:48:23 PM
Ooh, yeah! ? & the Mysterians. When I was a kid, my friend had this 45 and we played it all the time
Lizbot (host) 6:49:34 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - It's just so good. It's like hearing The Cramps' "Human Fly" for the first time every time. Undeniable.
Danosaur🦖 6:49:53 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - sorry to hear you're sick. Hope you feel better soon
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:50:21 PM
It's not a Slade cover. I don't think. It is still amusing as heck!
Danosaur🦖 6:52:12 PM
@Lizbot- the other record we had was Psychotic Reaction by Count Five. Still like both songs
Roffle 0x7EA 6:52:27 PM
Heya Lizbot! Merry Christmas!
Lizbot (host) 6:52:32 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - I could not resist playing this today..Christmas In May? I hate the idea of "Christmas In July," a silly crass commercial conceit! But I cannot wait until December to play that goofy song!
Lizbot (host) 6:52:47 PM
Hiyo Roffle 0x7EA! Ha!
Danosaur🦖 6:54:10 PM
Nice sax solo
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:54:40 PM
@Danosaur, ty! I hope you don't come down with anything
Lizbot (host) 6:55:10 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - See comment to @Rob from Maryland - Most songs that have a Christmas-related chorus I save for December, but I needed to hear that song and its optimistic bouncy synths today!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:57:07 PM
@Roffle & @Lizbot, it is pretty bouncy :-DD
Ted 6:59:16 PM
Andy Partridge produced that Suzuki track. And yay more Bessy!
Danosaur🦖 6:59:38 PM
I think the whip crack sound really makes this song. Really gives it some punctuation
Roffle 0x7EA 7:00:29 PM
I watched a rather short Sparks documentary video the other day on YouTube. What would Libot do? was my approach to it If you do Christmas, then that's frigging fine by me too. I think I like what Lizbot would do.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:03:13 PM
@Rob, Great day for bouncy!
Lizbot (host) 7:04:01 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - True!
Lizbot (host) 7:04:23 PM
@Ted - All the more reason to love it! Love Andy/XTC!
Lizbot (host) 7:05:11 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Thank God It's Not Christmas by Sparks would be more appropriate!
Lizbot (host) 7:06:00 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - haha, yes! I don't know if the whip-crack was Lene's call or Thomas Dolby's, but I gonna hand that one to Lene!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:06:14 PM
@Ted, This extraordinary band from CA almost got Partridge to produce their album, contracts stuff shut it down, but the album Three Squares and a Roof was still amazing. It's the artists so much.
Alex Crowe 7:08:41 PM
I fell like a curse was put on me by that station id.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:08:41 PM
@Lizbot, I totally am so glad when Christmas is done with, every dang time.
Dale Hazelton 7:11:15 PM
so weird (and cool) that new toy became a christmas song.

One of our submarines is missing is phenomenal. Brilliant.

The Balancing Act
Roffle 0x7EA 7:15:37 PM
They were real good. REAL GOOD!
Lizbot (host) 7:15:39 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, Christmas takes a lot out of me! I'm just relieved if I don't get sick during the season! I gotta cram in all the traditions before the kid is off the college, dammit!
Ted 7:15:58 PM
I’ll have to check the Act out.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:16:41 PM
Empty nest syndrome commin' atcha!
Lizbot (host) 7:16:51 PM
@Ossy - I had a feeling you'd enjoy that chiptune! Nice Zelda graphic!
Alex Crowe 7:17:18 PM
@ Lizbot *robotic monotone* I must listen to Double Plus Good...
Lizbot (host) 7:17:49 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I refuse it! In all seriousness, college is really only in session half the year - starts late, ends early, big looong winter break!
Lizbot (host) 7:18:02 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - (That's what I tell myself, anyway!)
Lizbot (host) 7:18:29 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Adding The Balancing Act to my list!
Lizbot (host) 7:19:11 PM
@Alex Crowe - ha! And the rats will be my enforcers, lest you slip outta the trance!
Ossy 7:19:12 PM
liz - the beauty of being so nerdy!!
Lizbot (host) 7:20:01 PM
@Ossy - Of course 8-bit/16-bit early video game fans churn out more GIFs than anyone!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:20:22 PM
Yea Lizbot, I hear ya. A friend of mine has a daughter that now live on the upper west side in NYC, and she misses her in that way that a mother will.
Ossy 7:21:02 PM
liz - exactly like this other 1980s nintendo game, Kid Icarus! https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=29418e553358edaa&rlz=1C1GCEU_enUS1216US1216&sxsrf=ANbL-n6rla4sWAWN5LqIikcAtrfsmBCg2w:1780010426613&udm=2&fbs=ADc_l-aN0CWEZBOHjofHoaMMDiKpaEWjvZ2Py1XXV8d8KvlI3o6iwGk6Iv1tRbZIBNIVs-5-bUj3iBl-UxHsANYwOkWWQqZAJJdwuRaSoLHfELMHAQFneUwKM50jpvR3lgPoPKND8akQVgLBVTEo53fw1z5raJTC8s1v3NluXpvgoyxRB5GEiIHiTiOmlY36mL4n1wm75zEksHpxaN-QJIsqxMOKBb23Tg&q=nes+kid+icarus&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwib4bLJj92UAxXIg4kEHSRkJNAQtKgL
Lizbot (host) 7:21:51 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - What album should I check out by THe Balancing Act? Adding it to my email list of artists to check out now
Roffle 0x7EA 7:22:05 PM
The Balancing Act, please check them out for sure. You will not regret it at all. Noda, not a bit. They were excellent. Gone now, but that's what happens to now all the time.
Lizbot (host) 7:23:06 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Oof. My kid has expressed both intense desire to be off on her own in another city, AND said many times that she's glad she lives at home, sometimes in the same day, which I guess is typical for a 17 year-old!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:23:18 PM
They ony had two, which became one in publishing.
Lizbot (host) 7:23:44 PM
@Ossy - Whoa. I never played Kid Icarus, but heard of it. Who is the little flying sidekick guy??
Lizbot (host) 7:24:55 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - ah, okay. I will track it down!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:25:31 PM
@Lizbot, The joy she has whe the kid comes home is palpable through email. Mother's love is the earth making sense.
Ossy 7:26:26 PM
Liz - if wondering the brunette angel, his name is Pit, the main protagonist and one of the Smash Bros fighters!
Ossy 7:26:51 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:28:12 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I think a lot of moms entice their college-aged and adult children to visit through food and missives about the family dog missing them! At least my mom did that!
Ossy 7:28:45 PM
oooo pram, starring with their sleepy sweet
Roffle 0x7EA 7:29:04 PM
They will guilt you until you yield!
Lizbot (host) 7:29:43 PM
@Ossy - Pit! I wonder why that name! The 8-bit graphics made it hard to tell he was meant to be an angel.
Lizbot (host) 7:30:21 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I give and I give and how do you thank yr dear old mother?!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:31:30 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:35:38 PM

George Korein 7:47:18 PM
extra cheese code? have you ever looked at the slip where it describes the hoagie layout including the hoagie hinge?
Lizbot (host) 7:47:32 PM
