@SV In Like Flynn - I got to the studio at 3 today, thanks to Princeton Reunions traffic and lack of parking! Left super early due to very bad traffic on Reunions Thursday (the day all the alum show up,) in previous years , but then it wasn't that bad today. I think a lot of them are slower to show up for today's activities due to the weather!

@SV In Like Flynn - That said, there was a last-minute transition between shows and I was saying my goodbye to Andy of No Context since he'll be moving back to the west coast

@jimbooooo - Yeah, I am taking a lot of shorter trips this summer for the kid's college visits and I am hoping for some forgiving temps while out for hours walking around campuses! We got nice weather for Northampton in March, downright springlike sunny days, and then cold rain in Boston the whole time we were there

I was actually getting a bit worried I would no longer be visited by my catbird friend, (despite his irritating and very persistent broken squeaky toy call!), but he reappeared this past weekend before the heatwave hit (at which I retreated indoors so I haven't reencountered him since!)

My mothers yard has more cat birds than nj has lawyers!

@Roy Cole - Yikes! Some ppl find their sound endearing, like a meowing cat, but I find it to be one of the most grating common bird calls! Still, I like their jaunty tails and I respect how incredibly bold and fearless the pair that lives in my yard are! They perch within 5 feet of me and tell me off when they decide I'm too close to their nest!

@Roy Cole - And by "nest" I mean my entire yard because those two are territorial AF and decided the yard is theirs

@Roy Cole - Don't get me wrong, I love birdwatching and all birds are welcome in my yard...well, most. But some kinda got the shortend of the birdsong/call stick. I include bluejays in that category as well. And crows just sound ominous, but their intelligence makes up for their craggy calls!

How about the Carolina Wren at 5am just outside the bedroom window?

@Roy Cole - haha, my kid is, let's say, tacitly influenced by my music collection, in so much as, yes, I exposed her to a lot of music and she regularly listens to a lot of my favorite artists, BUT she is a teenager, so she has taken to controlling what gets played in the car or the house when she's home!

@Roy Cole - The other morning, I think it was last Saturday morning after a couple days of gorgeous spring weather, I was awoken by an utter cacophony of birdsong at about 5 am!

@Dale Hazelton - Yes! I did too when I first got into her! I was shocked to discover years ago that she was from Detroit. I think she wanted us all thinking she was German! The fact that she collaborated with Nina Hagen on "Don't Eat the Animals" doesnt hurt that assumption!

@Dale Hazelton - She came to Ardmore in the Philly 'burbs to do an in-store performance at one of my favorite old record stores, Plastic Fantastic. They had a photo of her on their wall from that set for many years. The owner also somehow talked Iggy Pop into performing a few songs there!

@Dale Hazelton - Lene toured last fall opening for Devo and The B-52s! I went to the Holmdel, NJ and stayed the night, hit up Asbury Park boardwalk for their dog parade the next day!
