The inside of my car is still soaked and it is in the 90s out.

A fairly large to pretty large branch nearly fell on me as I tried to run back to my car while sheets of rain pushed me all over. Wearing boots and over-full of babaganoj did not help me go any faster.

There's a line of thunderstorms, some of them Severe, entering the western and northern suburbs of Philly, heading east toward Princeton.

I was so beat by our giant meal / getting soaked to such a degree I left all my clothes in a pile on the kitchen floor that I fell asleep with the Cavs up 21 and 7 to go. Woke up VERY CONFUSED.

Speaking of 400 meters Jon, do you carry water on your runs? I just started doing that and it’s been a revelation.

DJ Ten-- Failure doc free on Hulu is great, heavy. I saw Failure in '93 so I have been on the journey with em. Lotsa heroin, depression, cancer, resilience, not being understood, etc in their stories-- it's a humane and powerful doc.

my buddy mike loves sunn O))) and keeps threatening to take me, he's seen them a couple times. i think i may have some minor hearing damage from years of hardcore shows and so I'm a little afraid to go. I remember coming home with the ringing after shows.

I was very happy with how my earplugged ears held up seeing seven rock shows in as many days.

@DJ Tenderloin, way back before I started wearing earplugs at shows, I rather noticeably lost some hearing at a show where two of the bands were MFD (Music For the Deaf) and Killdozer

I'm glad you made it to your destination, Zach.

They do help cut out freqs like compression.

i only saw three rock shows in eight days, but also pleased about my ear/earplug situation.

I've always hated ear plugs but I should invest in some of these fancy ones they got now. recommendations? I don't like just plain ear plugs - everything sounds muffled, no highs, etc.

I ended up not going to see Hum / Swirlies, Maggie. My friend who was coming to town for the show(s) ended up flying to a different festival instead.

@DJ T, when we saw Swans a couple of yers ago in DC, they were REALLY loud and the venue was shaking. I was glad I wasn't in California because then I'd be wondering about an earthquake

Rob from Maryland - no not on the same bill! ha. but both were memorably stupidly loud. we huddled at times in the basement of 9:30 when Swans played, thinking "make it stop". it was so loud. painfully loud. i think that may have been the tipping point. or black flag. who also played crazy loud.

I am 99% sure I have told this story in the chat before but it is loudness and quasi-Hum related. There was a now-famous Dinosaur / Babes In Toyland / My Bloody Valentine show I went to in college. The tour where MBV would finish sounding like a jet plane engine for 20 minutes. Jay Ryan, who has designed many Hum posters, drove up for the show, was not feeling well, took some cold medicine, sat on the floor and fell asleep during My Bloody Valentine. Incredible.

Mats Sabbath - i saw them in 83 at a church, with nig heist, which was their roadies essentially and they played naked and were purposefully bad. and then in 84, i guess that was the my war tour?

Recently saw photos I'd never viewed previously from when Rollins Band and Ween played Community Park North in 1991.

Whole show was basically on a giant lone power strip.

I got a great poster in Columbus to frame.
