Yep, Joe Boyd! These guys are similar in certain ways.

I saw London Wainright open for Thompson, Amnesia tour smallish club. They played together too!

That Joe Boyd book was good. White Bicycles. He was one of those "just about everywhere" people for a time and then some. Many right places at right times.

And thanks for including that electrifying (pun intended) new cover by Flea and Nick Cave of "Wichita Lineman" ~ a classic which BOTH Bob Dylan and Billy Joel have called THE greatest song ever. And to give a you a solid sense of what a joke is the recent New York Times Magazine list of "The 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters," it leaves off Jimmy Webb ~ composer of this true masterpiece plus "MacArthur Park," "Didn't We," "Galveston" and many more.

The only detail I remember is Dylan's observation that Mayall's new guitarist was in the Yardbirds.
