Good evening to my fellow Transistor Sister acolytes! @Commie -- one of my favorite anti-war songs of all times is Sandy Denny's/Fotheringay's 'Banks of the Nile' (particularly the live version). My husband Rob disputes that it can be described as an anti-war song -- to his mind, it is much more a love song about being separated from your beloved because he's been called up to serve in a foreign war, without critiquing the particular conflict...

However, the Richard & Linda Thompson comes pretty darn close to scratching that Sandy Denny itch as it were! <3

Today’s news made me think of the movie “Wag the Dog” which I haven’t seen since the 20th century. I looked it up and was surprised to see the screenplay is by David Mamet, who infamously came out in support of our President in recent years.

way back possibly the early 90's when my parents finally bought our first family vcr, the first movie my dad recorded off the tv was repo man. it didn't dawn on me until into my adult life how awesome that was.
