Readie: We had a blue Parakeet "Cookie" when I was a kid. One day Cookie did the same, Like a bat outta Hell to freedom LOL!

I hear that, Alan - We were usually careful to clip Jesse's flight wings to prevent that - but my (ex) husband forgot to do it, and so..off went Jesse - he & my dear father-in-law searched the neighborhood for hours, calling his name, which he usually answered to, but he preferred freedom!!

We have wild parrots out here that probably got their start in much the same way as your birds.

Hard to keep them down on the perch once they've tasted freedom
