The person for whom I did the Miles/'Trane video: His name was Robert Carrington. He lived at Peacock’s General Store in Hillsborough Township, NJ. He had resided in San Francisco. He arrived here with a pet dog. When I met him, he had just lost his pet. I asked about the pet. That began a 25 year friendship. He was one of the brightest people I had ever met.
rick hallahan 12:07:56 PM
I haven't heard many vocals of "Four" before, but this is goooooood!

A lot of hot air without direction.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:33:07 PM
Heard you guys with the jazz smokes were spinnin' :)
Patrick White 12:33:42 PM
Jerry we may think we’re cool but we will never be as cool as Allen Toussaint rocking a purple suit at Joe’s Pub in August of 2014 cool!!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:34:19 PM
We only smoke (and drink) for medicinal purposes.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:34:40 PM
Patrick, you are so right!
Russell Woessner 12:34:50 PM
Are we going to hear the title track, Members, Don’t Git Weary, with Andy Bey on vocals on Cuckoo today?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:37:17 PM
Patrick, that will be a little difficult for me technically, if I don't it won't be for a lack of desire but technical skillls.
Patrick White 12:38:04 PM

rick hallahan 12:47:07 PM
Patrick, I did not know that.
Mike Constantine 12:47:08 PM
I can see that
Patrick White 12:49:04 PM
Couldn’t have been more politically incorrect than my A priest, a rabbi and Lenny Bruce at my CYO breakfast performance
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:50:10 PM
Better than your priest, a rabbi, and Imam jokes
Richard Mitnick 12:52:24 PM
Ah, thanks, Jerry ("So What")
rick hallahan 12:53:25 PM
Vocalized "So What" - it just don't get any better.

Jerry, you just can't find cuts like this anywhere else in the continental 48 states, let alone the world (except maybe Paris).
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:08:10 PM
Schwing is the thing!
Patrick White 1:09:52 PM
I remember the state unemployment office sent me to JM Fields at Leo Mall in Somerton. 2.65 per hour . Fun times.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:11:19 PM
I'm surprised they didn't try to pay you 19 cents
Mike Constantine 1:11:20 PM
There was a great bagel shop in the Leo Mall 40 years ago
Patrick White 1:12:47 PM
That area is loaded with great Uzbekistan,Tajikistan and Georgian restaurants.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:13:06 PM

Lester Wiggs 1:32:53 PM
Good afternoon all. Sorry I missed the chatter about Clark Park. Track and Turf anyone? One memorable 'rap' show I attended, the sound system went out. Young rappers, is like, no problem. Does it a cappella, no accompanment, no sound system. I rmember that performance to this day.
Patrick White 1:33:30 PM
We probably don’t talk enough about how cool the Lazlo Schrifin Mannix jazz theme is.
Lester Wiggs 1:34:31 PM
OK, I'll start then. Mannix, he was no McCloud.
Patrick White 1:35:19 PM
Mannix told McCloud screw you and the horse you came in on!
vildachaya1 1:36:43 PM
Hey friends! Happy Friday - Will Jerry play Please Mr. Postman - After all he's doing all Mail vocalists? Thank you, I'll be here all week

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:41:03 PM
Hey LW
Lester Wiggs 1:43:16 PM
Hey Jerry- Your Wednesday eveing show was some fine wine. I have been going through the playlist track by track. I knew the name 'Amboy Dukes' but knew nothing about them. Ted 'I Like To Hunt' Nugent Wikepedia actually mentions Hendirx on the write up of that song.
Patrick White 1:44:56 PM
I mistakenly thought the Amboy Dukes were from Perth Amboy NJ.INn the depths of my ignorance
rick hallahan 1:46:35 PM
Nat King Cole sure had some hip big bands backing him.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:46:36 PM
Thanks, LW. That track came out at a time when Hendrix blew every pre-existing rock guitarists mind. A new day! On Mainstream Records, the label the first big Brother and the Holding Company album came out on
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:47:48 PM
Nat King Cole was such a star! A piano player who was discovered to have an unreal voice, ala George Benson
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:48:30 PM
For Patrick, Little Jimmy Scott
Lester Wiggs 1:49:10 PM
Archibald Campbell was the producer. He also produced Lalo Schifrin. This was just before Bruce Geller stole the idea and hired Hal Leonard to produce a fake Moon landing. No wonder I keep getting banned.
Patrick White 1:49:49 PM
Nats brother Freddie was great vocalist also.3 years in a row rained out at Wiggins Park.like the Lil Abner character Joe Bflpsk
Lester Wiggs 1:50:00 PM
I know the more popular version of this. Great tune.

Patrick White 1:54:52 PM
Many Jazzbos criticize me for my Little Jimmy Scott fandom.many jazzbos are wrong!,
Lester Wiggs 1:56:22 PM
Jose James. Now this is a great musician. I never understood why he had not gotten a lot more recognition. Was watching some vids back in 2020?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:56:36 PM
I LOVE Little Jimmy Scott! Great taste, Patrick. Rick, see you next Friday!
Lester Wiggs 1:57:31 PM
On Broadway. Jerry. Sometimes the network glitches. I missed all the recent comments.
rick hallahan 1:58:25 PM
I have to bow out early today (it's time to help sell 155 dozen frozen pierogies up in the coal region). Jerry, listening to "Serenade To A Cuckoo" was a most enjoyable experience, as always! Male (and female) jazz vocalists rock!!! Schwing City! Everybody enjoy your weekend!
Lester Wiggs 2:00:13 PM
Good luck Rick. Make them feel guilty if they don't buy. 155 dozen?
Patrick White 2:01:40 PM
Unfortunately his show was removed from Southern stations because he put his arm around Dinah Shore.
Patrick White 2:02:35 PM
Here’s my list of smoother singers than Nat King Cole………………………………..

I do have a funny Joe Namath Story. Could be true, or not be true. But so the informant is in a bar talking to a guy. he asks, what do you do? She goes on and on about working with children, likely with disabilities, etc. He leans in listening. So finally she asks, what do you do? Namath answers, I play football. She responds, That's a silly thing for a grown man to do. Ok i I asked the board should I post this. Sally says OK.
