Welcome!
Roffle 0x7EA 12:17:28 PM
Hiya 6! Dude, you are absolutely killing it with BandCamp. :)
Number 6 (host) 12:20:03 PM
Hi Roffle 0x7EA, thanks!
Roffle 0x7EA 12:25:13 PM
When you're working on 10,000+ items, that's one hell of a lot of electrons to rummage through.
Number 6 (host) 12:25:44 PM
I'll say, a lot is free, though.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:26:32 PM
LOL, yeah, that's the hobby of trust funds otherwise.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:35:01 PM
I just listen and take notes on things that you great DJ's share after weeding out the silly stuff. The play lists are getting huge that I have, and it's gonna be spendy to ever actually fulfill. But there are plenty of over compressed files out there for free.
Number 6 (host) 12:36:33 PM
Youtube downloaders come in handy too.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:38:24 PM
That's a big goto. Great live stuff too for days, at iPhone quality. Can be good or bad.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:39:05 PM
Sometimes it's a good tape off the board.
Number 6 (host) 12:47:15 PM
Yup, I use Audacity to record stuff also.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:53:14 PM
I've used that long ago. I just put the latest AV linux on a hard drive, so that's another journey that I have not been on in 15 years. Setting the patches is making me a bit nutzo this week.
Number 6 (host) 12:53:45 PM
I hear you!
Roffle 0x7EA 12:56:11 PM
I left my home studio in boxes for the last two years, and now it's all setup again. I ran all the physical lines, but the DAW always wants to play port games. lol
G Jax 1:01:59 PM
Cotton Candy?? like Ron Howard's band from like the afterschool special or whatever it was? I know the chick was the drummer.
G Jax 1:02:26 PM
Well not Ron Howard's band, but he directed the movie. He had Terry, the toad as the leader of the man.
Number 6 (host) 1:03:08 PM
Hi G Jax! Msybe!
G Jax 1:03:44 PM
it was hilarious, but I don't think it was meant to be. They were playing like a battle of the bands or something
G Jax 1:04:14 PM
it might've been the first thing Ron Howard ever directed.
G Jax 1:05:30 PM
Come on I can't be the only one who remembers this?
Number 6 (host) 1:07:17 PM
Others need to speak up!:)
Number 6 (host) 1:10:04 PM
Here's a link about the band: https://www.teenbeat.net/artists/cottoncandy.html
Amy Lee 1:10:09 PM
Haven't seen in but it's now on my list. Maybe not at the top, but it's there
Number 6 (host) 1:10:24 PM
Hi Amy!
Amy Lee 1:11:48 PM
Bring on more trivia. I like to stump the team
Number 6 (host) 1:12:05 PM
Ha, I will!
G Jax 1:18:38 PM
I like cake. I like cheesecake too which to me always seemed more like pie. Anyway, King missile 'cheesecake Truck' haven't heard that one in years.
Number 6 (host) 1:20:36 PM
I'll have to look that one up.
G Jax 1:24:11 PM
King Missile was kind of a staple of college radio. Back when I was actually college age ha ha ha. They ended up having some kind of mainstream success when 'alternative' became marketable
Number 6 (host) 1:31:42 PM
I have heard a few of their songs.
Number 6 (host) 1:34:17 PM
I remember that one, "Wuss".
G Jax 1:36:25 PM
Not sure what Cotton Candy that was in the promo there but this is the band Cotton Candy in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotton_Candy_(1978_film)
G Jax 1:36:36 PM
Yeah, I'm old as dirt. Ha ha.
Number 6 (host) 1:37:26 PM
Probably not the same band.
Amy Lee 1:39:41 PM
You can't be old as dirt talking about King Missile being a staple of college radio cause that means I'm also old as dirt and I just retired. Well, for the first time.
G Jax 1:43:06 PM
Actually I think I was a little past college age when King Missile was on cause radio. I think they were on in the 90s. College age for me would've been the 80s.
G Jax 1:43:40 PM
•College radio not cause tadio
G Jax 1:44:12 PM
Jeez radio not tadio ehhhh you get it
Amy Lee 1:44:39 PM
Whew. That was a close one. Though cause radio would be a befitting description.
Number 6 (host) 1:45:04 PM
Ha, I know about the fat fingers syndrome.
Amy Lee 1:45:06 PM
And we have a new band name
G Jax 1:45:33 PM
I really shouldn't be in the chat because half the time I'm driving and I talk into this thing and it gets things wrong and then just now I'm typing and I fat finger the wrong things I'm like geez I can't figure out which method makes me sound stupider
aiffrig 1:46:07 PM
must b old took a long time to formulate answer
Amy Lee 1:46:37 PM
Wprb doesn't have stupid listeners.
Number 6 (host) 1:47:15 PM
Hi aiffrig! Spell Check has saved my butt many a times.
G Jax 1:47:23 PM
That's right, dammit
G Jax 1:49:22 PM
Spellcheck completes words that I never intended to say more often than not
Number 6 (host) 1:52:02 PM
I hate that fool Autocorrect!
G Jax 1:52:40 PM
Oh well back to work. Not retired yet. But have to say in the last year. I have conversations with people about retiring. Damn that's crazy. Maybe not old as dirt but old enough. Goodbye all it's been fun.
Number 6 (host) 2:00:03 PM
I've been happily retired for over three years, so I guess that makes me as old as dirt too!
aiffrig 2:02:05 PM
back of the line , chief
aiffrig 2:06:12 PM
old people say the damdest things , by the by who dug up crumb bum haven't heard that term since early 60's
Number 6 (host) 2:10:16 PM
Gotta love Rizzo for his insane comments.
Roffle 0x7EA 2:23:04 PM
I owned Rizzo's card/dining room table until I moved a couple of years ago. :)
Roffle 0x7EA 2:24:02 PM
Yes, it's a crazy world.
Number 6 (host) 2:25:15 PM
They broke the mold with him!
Number 6 (host) 2:57:04 PM
Thanks for listening, BCNU!
