The Actor Covergirl The Actor
Exploded View Trumpett 1982
It all started in 1980 with five musicians having a jam session playing only one chord (D minor). Singer and songwriter Marcel Reimer thought up the lyrics as he was singing. Thus unintentionally giving birth to “The Actor”, which was the main character in the song “Unreal Personality” that resulted from this jam session. Later, Marcel teamed up with Sander Horsthuis, whom he knew very well from Art School. The Actor had become a duo. https://minimalwave.com/artists/artist/the-actor/

Groundhogs were an English blues and progressive rock band founded in late 1963. They toured extensively in the 1960s, achieved prominence in the early 1970s, and continued sporadically into the 21st century. Tony McPhee (guitar and vocals) was the sole constant member of the group, which had gone through many personnel changes, but usually recorded and performed as a power trio. The band was active from 1963 until retiring in 2014.

hey
Lester Wiggs 5:06:22 PM
What had happened was I needed to shovel the driveway. I backed up, I backed up the truck- ran over the innocent snows of yesteryear? And finally I found myself on the street. My street. Suddenly- out of nowhere comes Lalo Schifrin
Stevie P 5:06:22 PM
HEY!
Esoterica (host) 5:07:23 PM
HEY! Stevie P!
Esoterica (host) 5:07:39 PM
Hi, Lester!
Carlos Ramone 5:11:42 PM
Cold greetings from Montco Pa
Esoterica (host) 5:12:08 PM
Hey Carlos!
Lester Wiggs 5:20:37 PM
Montco Pa is actually pretty cool. Cold. Imagine, if you will- a place where we travel to Mars. Although I did think Earth was kinda cool.
Rob from snow-encrusted Maryland 🦀 5:21:49 PM

Lester Wiggs 5:25:13 PM
Spelling likely wrong. Could you play some Johnny cash? Dont bring you gunds to town.
Lester Wiggs 5:27:05 PM

Lester Wiggs 5:31:35 PM
Zappa was a Vamp.
Lester Wiggs 5:39:40 PM
Garrison's style featured strong rhythmic foundation, ability to sustain long vamps, and thoughtful solos (often unaccompanied in live performances). He appeared on many key Coltrane recordings, including Chasin' the Trane (one of his early features with the group) and later avant-garde works.
Lester Wiggs 5:41:58 PM
Not sure why my old friends have abandoned me.. I only wished the best for them.. Perhaps I should have used the active tense.
Esoterica (host) 5:45:15 PM

Richard of Rocky Hill 7:22:13 PM
Re: "My Buddy" ... It's from 1922, but definitely connected to the then-recent "Great War" (World War One, ended 1918). It has set-up verses, alas rarely sung today, e.g. "Life is a book that we study/Some of its leaves bring a sigh/There it was written, my Buddy/That we must part, you and I…" They served together and the buddy was killed in combat. The lyrics' tender affection ("Miss your voice/The touch of your hand") signal they were also lovers, adding extra poignancy to this classic song.
Esoterica (host) 7:24:10 PM
oh wow Richard! thanks for the insight into that great song
Lester Wiggs 7:24:14 PM
Rocky- This is the final campanologist word writ light.
