Lizbot (host) 5:09:31 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Apt description. I think about the times I saw Don Van Vliet on Letterman in the 80s before I knew who he was! He just seemed like some amusing weirdo. I remembered when he was on to promote Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)
Lizbot (host) 5:11:38 PM
One thing I can say for the old original Late Night with DL was he had far more interesting musical guests than the other shows!
Lizbot (host) 5:13:22 PM
He used to have Warren Zevon on a lot too, since he was a huge Zevon fan. Zevon went into some dark interesting territory

I'm jealous of the winter yall are having, here in Bend and Mt Bachelor we strangely have not had much cold. There is hardly any snow on the Mtns. You are getting our winter....Lucky.
Lester Wiggs 5:29:08 PM
ǝɹnɔsqo ǝɥʇ ǝʌɐp and 6 are the same person?
Carlos Ramone 5:30:04 PM
@JimmyCarter..he gets huge credit in the craft beer community for signing bills to allow home brewing..
Lizbot (host) 5:30:26 PM
@Van Kapeghian - THat's one of those happy accidents that used to happen pre-internet when I just didn't have anything else to go on other than word of mouth or hearing stuff on the radio, so so many of my blind record store choices were album art or name-based! It worked out well in general. That's also how I stumbled upon the Soft Machine, since that debut 1968 album had moving cardboard cogs built into the cover, which intrigued me
Lizbot (host) 5:30:37 PM
Hi Lester Wiggs!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:37 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - You can have our winter! I am done with snow and it's only January!
Number 6 5:33:55 PM
@Lester Wiggs- Could be, have you ever seen us together? :)
Lizbot (host) 5:34:25 PM
@Lester Wiggs - I can neither confirm nor deny!
Lizbot (host) 5:35:56 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - I just got another battery-operated lantern in case we lose power on Sunday or Monday. We're supposed to get up to 14" on top of the snow already on the ground here, and I'm a little concerned the weighted-down branches are gonna pull down power lines in the area!
Lester Wiggs 5:36:47 PM
(personal to L-Bot) Your parents were married near the Anthology Film Archives. ? I get it now. You are the love child of Stan Brakage and Yvonne Rainer?
Lizbot (host) 5:38:01 PM
@Carlos Ramone - I still have a little vial of rootbeer flavoring from the now-defunct Home Sweet Home-brew in Philly
Carlos Ramone 5:38:48 PM
@Liz..I believe we are in the same general area..took my mother grocery shopping today..stores were already packed..Friday and Saturday will be nuts
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 5:39:00 PM
Yeah, if this is half as cold and snowy as they are predicting then it is really going to something. I remember our power in Morrisville used to go out a lot, for multiple days at a time. We were always prepared for a week with no power. Out here, we have more secure power. Good luck to all of you.....
Lizbot (host) 5:39:42 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Yeeeeah. I need to get groceries tomorrow and I am dreading it, but I didn't do my usual regular weekly run yet, so I'm out of basics right now
Lester Wiggs 5:40:25 PM
I have a little vial of snork here.
Lizbot (host) 5:41:12 PM
Public Service Announcement: It gets cold with no stove.
Number 6 5:41:19 PM
I always go on Tuesdays since they have senior citizen discount, so I'm all stocked up.
Lizbot (host) 5:41:47 PM
@Lester Wiggs - Funny you should mention Brakage and Anthology in the same sentence because one of the first things I ever saw at Anthology Film Archives was a Stan Brakage retrospective
Lizbot (host) 5:42:17 PM
@Lester Wiggs - However, my parents' wedding reception was at the I-House, with its film center, in West Philadelphia
Roffle 0x7EA 5:42:20 PM
@JCHero, My kids grandma lived in Bend OR, and she would say about it, "All of the water and none of the rain they get west of the mountains.".
Lizbot (host) 5:44:09 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - Ughhh. Not sure what we're gonna do for heat if we lose power because we don't have a backup generator. I've toyed with the idea of getting one for years. We usually lose power for up to 24 hours, but normally more like 3-12 hours, once or twice per winter. And I have tropical birds!
Lizbot (host) 5:44:44 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - I guess I need woodburning stoves!
Lizbot (host) 5:45:28 PM
Weirdly that stove song had a phrase from the main Bond theme behind it
Roffle 0x7EA 5:46:01 PM
@Lizbot, get one from Amazon and send it back if you don't use it. :)
Lizbot (host) 5:47:32 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - Only time we were in Bend was a family trip with my parents decades ago during which we hiked around the Cascade range. That was a big Oregon / Washington state combo trip. The benefits of teachers as parents: long vacations with lots of cheap camping
Lizbot (host) 5:48:36 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, I wish I had a garage to store it in! I GUESS I could drag it up and down our narrow basement stairs, or leave it in our raccoon-infested shed...Our shed is very old and not exactly rainproof...
Lizbot (host) 5:50:29 PM
@Number 6 - Smart to get your groceries by Tuesday. I usually don't wait this late before a storm, but this week has been all off-kilter!
Van Kapeghian 5:50:47 PM
Had to look it up. Eugene Santini on bass, this is so dope
Roffle 0x7EA 5:50:58 PM
Yeah, God only made so much closet space.
Lizbot (host) 5:51:44 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Yeah the bass in this is part of what won me over!
Roffle 0x7EA 5:51:51 PM
Hense the return option. :)
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 5:52:17 PM
Roffle, I like that phrase! We have a wood stove and use it for nearly all our heat now. In Morrisville I had a small generator that I used to power my heating oil burning furnace. But mostly we lost our electric in the shoulder seasons, especially in the spring when it was wet and trees would fall more easily. Perhaps look up suicide plug extension cord, and learn how to use it safely, and get a small generator. That might could help if you have heating oil.
Lizbot (host) 5:54:13 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - True, returning large equipment is a pain, but we lose power at least once per winter, usually 1-3 times, plus a couple other times throughout the year due to wind, etc. Hell, a few weeks ago it was because the electrical pole across the street from us caught fire! So maybe it's worth it
Van Kapeghian 5:54:14 PM
Ooooh, that harp sound
Lizbot (host) 5:54:44 PM
@Van Kapeghian - This Clarence Carter track has Duane Allman playing on it!
Roffle 0x7EA 5:54:52 PM
@JCHero, I traveled on US97 a lot and Have friends in Klamath Falls. I love it down there.
Lizbot (host) 5:55:42 PM
@Van Kapeghian - As does this King Curtis song!
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 5:55:54 PM
I miss the food and people Back East.
Van Kapeghian 5:56:04 PM
@Lizbot - yeah, I realized after I hit send that I was hearing a slide guitar and not a harp. Sounded so darn cool.
Van Kapeghian 5:56:49 PM
@Lizbot - wait, Duane is on this, too? Intentional sequencing by the DJ?
Lizbot (host) 5:56:59 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - I am completely unfamiliar with suicide plug extension cords! Do I need that? Gonna look into it!
Roffle 0x7EA 5:57:16 PM
I am planning on outfitting for the whatever the fuck is going on and then return it all if nothing happens. lol
Lizbot (host) 5:57:27 PM
This part! ugh, so sad King Curtis died young. This build with the horns! Chills
Roffle 0x7EA 5:57:45 PM
Tanks, bazokas, the whole 9
Van Kapeghian 5:57:51 PM
Beautiful
Lizbot (host) 5:58:09 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Yes! Intentional Double-Duane for DOubleplusgood
Van Kapeghian 5:59:18 PM
@Lizbot - smooth
Lizbot (host) 5:59:36 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - You sound like my Uncle Tony! He grew up in the Philly/SOuth Jersey area, then moved to Spokane, WA and never got over missing the food back here! I don't blame him. Good apples and cherries where he is, though!
Carlos Ramone 5:59:39 PM
@JC..my daughter has lived in PDX for over 10 years..every visit it is the same thing..why do you people drive like this? She learned to drive here
Lizbot (host) 6:00:00 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Could be 2" or 14". WHO knows?!
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 6:02:26 PM
Male to male extension cord triggers the google less. Just be Sure to turn off the main breakers coming into the breaker panel. Then plug one end into a plug that is on the same leg as the device you want powered, and you're going.....
Roffle 0x7EA 6:04:08 PM
I also think returning a snow blower and a Zamboni is appropriate given the current situation. My building has a generator fortunately.
Lizbot (host) 6:07:27 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Drivers actually use turn signals and wave in their fellow drivers! It's madness!
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 6:07:57 PM
yes, madness
Lizbot (host) 6:08:24 PM
@JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - Huh...Who knew? Slightly loath to turns off main breakers
Lizbot (host) 6:09:33 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Any excuse to drive a zamboni is welcome. I think I like watching the zamboni smooth the ice at the rink outside of Philly's City Hall more than I like watching the skaters
Lizbot (host) 6:10:51 PM
@Carlos Ramone / @JimmyCarter IsMy Hero - My parents had a pipedream of retiring to PDX. My dad was a woodworker and loved the craftsman houses there
Roffle 0x7EA 6:13:24 PM
It's the total pimp carriage in snow season.
Carlos Ramone 6:14:21 PM
@Liz..whenever I visit I either walk or take buses to get around and love seeing the different style houses..no 2 look alike..my neighborhood?? 50 + houses and only 2 styles
Lizbot (host) 6:14:58 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Even better than a snowmobile, albeit, less easy to store
Lizbot (host) 6:15:54 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Yeah, I have to say Portland is a very beautiful place
Roffle 0x7EA 6:16:50 PM
You could park on the snow routes with some viability, and avoid tickets.
Van Kapeghian 6:16:59 PM
oh this is niiiiiiice
Lizbot (host) 6:17:20 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I hadn't heard this band before this week!
Van Kapeghian 6:17:52 PM
Dig this, slowdivey goodness
Lizbot (host) 6:18:44 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Yeah, Philly and a lot of the surrounding area has too many cookiecutter houses. A lot of the old row homes at least have character. The newer grey box houses with boxy baywindows are ubiquitous and it's a bummer.
Lizbot (host) 6:19:05 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I love a deep shoegaze dive!
Lizbot (host) 6:20:30 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, one of the biggest bummers when I lived in downtown Philly was digging out parking spots in the snow, only to lose that spot immediately and have to dig out another one. It definitely gets to the point where people try to move their cars as little as possible to not have to deal with all that!
Carlos Ramone 6:20:58 PM
@Liz..whenever I do a run to Siren in doylestown I take some time to walk around town and duck into the alley ways ..always pleasantly surprised at all different homes I see there
Lizbot (host) 6:21:46 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - And I refused to put out a cone or a folding chair to save my spot. I mean, honestly, the one time I tried that, someone threw it on the sidewalk so whatever, fair enough! If you're gonna win that particular game, you gotta drag something downright leaden and a real strain to move!
Number 6 6:23:23 PM
Saving parking spaces technically isn't legal.
Lizbot (host) 6:23:43 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Doylestown is very pretty. I used to have a doctor I liked whose practice moved out there, and even though it was really out of the way for me, I still went to her for a few more years because I liked visited Doylestown and making an afternoon of it. Siren, and also The County Theater!
Lizbot (host) 6:24:21 PM
@Number 6 - haha, tell my old South Philly neighbors that! It was every man for himself. I was pretty much the only person not doing it.
Roffle 0x7EA 6:24:25 PM
@Lizbot,The Ministry of Zamboni Snow plows needs to be established to fight such injustice in the streets..
Lizbot (host) 6:25:02 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I'd back that!
Lizbot (host) 6:25:51 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @Number 6 - I don't know if it still exists, but there used to be a blog for photos of the most ridiculous items people saved spots with. I think it was in Boston or Chicago..
Carlos Ramone 6:26:28 PM
@Liz..great take out restaurant around the back of the theater..Empanada Mama..taste of the homeland..although my family would cringe at empanadas with dipping sauce
Lizbot (host) 6:27:33 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Also Fonthill Castle and The Mercer Museum in Doylestown! I should get back there for the Mercer. I love how Henry Chapman Mercer had a rear staircase built for his Labrador that was only the height and width of the dog.
Lizbot (host) 6:28:03 PM
@Carlos Ramone - ooooh, I love empañadas! I need to try that place!
Carlos Ramone 6:28:42 PM
I once suggested a family Xmas card pic taken at the bottom of the gallows on the top floor..voted down
Van Kapeghian 6:29:07 PM
@Carlos - have any empanada recommendations in South Jersey?
Lizbot (host) 6:30:43 PM
@Carlos Ramone - ha! I wonder if anyone else tried that!
Carlos Ramone 6:30:55 PM
@van….no not an area I get to frequent on a regular basis..I would look for baked instead of fried
Roffle 0x7EA 6:30:58 PM
City parking is so hope inspiring.
Van Kapeghian 6:31:21 PM
@Carlos - duly noted, gracias!
Lizbot (host) 6:32:39 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I'm in South Jersey more than out in Bucks Country because my mom still lives in South Jersey, so I am always keeping my eyes out for good restaurants to go to with her
Van Kapeghian 6:33:17 PM
@Lizbot - if you're ever near Medford Lakes, let me and Sean know!
Lizbot (host) 6:33:52 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - That's one way of putting it.. Parking and traffic have gotten noticeably worse in Philly ever since SEPTA train schedules were scaled back. Some regional rail lines are only running once every two hours on Saturdays and Sundays, and once an hour on weekdays. Not great.
Lizbot (host) 6:34:46 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Will do! Mostly I pass through that area en route to LBI, though for a couple of summers when she was younger my daughter attended a camp near Medford, Dark Waters
Lizbot (host) 6:35:43 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I AM known to stop at Evergreen Dairy Bar in Vincentown from time to time in the summers!
Van Kapeghian 6:37:11 PM
Lizbot - oh I know Evergreen well - M. Night filmed there at one point recently, I think?
Lizbot (host) 6:39:00 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Really? Did not know that, but I don't pay much attention to M. Night S. I seem to always wind up there during the Sunday classic car shows because I'm usually heading back from the shore then!
Lizbot (host) 6:39:13 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Speaking of Medford!
Lizbot (host) 6:40:03 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Digging this EP!
Van Kapeghian 6:40:14 PM
@Liz - I know this guy
Lizbot (host) 6:41:00 PM
@Van Kapeghian - A real Piney, I hear
Van Kapeghian 6:41:55 PM
@Liz - the guy playing the guitar solo is a pulmonologist now up in New Brunswick
Lizbot (host) 6:43:18 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I never know if it's Pinies or Pineys, but I refer the latter. The Strapping Fieldhands, which featured my old boss, Bob Dickie, had an EP I'm fond of called "In the Pineys" in the mid-90s with, of course, Mother Leeds' 13th child on the cover
Van Kapeghian 6:43:41 PM
This groove is awesome - I'm a novice, was that cumbia?
Lizbot (host) 6:44:18 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Pulmonologuitarists of NJ!
Van Kapeghian 6:45:14 PM
Liz - oh yeah! I actually saw Jeff from the Fieldhands at the last Camino Sound show at KFN.
Lizbot (host) 6:45:14 PM
@Van Kapeghian - She's Colombian and French. Definitely influenced by cumbia.
Lizbot (host) 6:48:32 PM
@Van Kapeghian - oh no way! Yeah, I used to work at 9th St Books & Records in the early 2000s when Bob D. and Molly Russakov were still together. He had a lot of stories of Philly music scene in 80s. Bob was also in the band King of Siam and he insisted Lydia Lunch stole the name for her "Queen of Siam" album after playing a gig in Philly with King of Siam. Possible!
Van Kapeghian 6:49:23 PM
This is great, too - also Eda. Adding a few songs of hers
Carlos Ramone 6:49:55 PM
@Van..I haven’t been to KFN in a while what does the city wide look like these days..last time it was cheap bourbon and Genny cream for $4..
Lizbot (host) 6:50:05 PM
@Van Kapeghian - I really like her a lot. Interesting backstory: Her French mom met her Colombian dad on a plane flying from Medellin to Paris
Van Kapeghian 6:50:51 PM
@Carlos - not too much different than what you remembered, honestly
Lizbot (host) 6:50:56 PM
@Carlos Ramone - I always consider the citywide Pabst & Jim Beam, not that I like either, let alone together
Ossy 6:52:18 PM
wowie zowie!! 6hrs of doubleplusgood smells!!!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:52:19 PM
There is an ancient village hidden deep in the Pine Barons on forgotten roads... Go not there...
Van Kapeghian 6:54:43 PM
@Liz - I'm not really sure how to pronounce it either
Carlos Ramone 6:55:01 PM
@Liz..classic city wide at Bob and Barbara’s…a quick run across the street from Tri Tone on the band breaks
Lizbot (host) 6:58:02 PM
Hi Ossy!
Lizbot (host) 6:59:10 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Yeah, I just kinda winged that! I think I made it sound like Campion, as in "Jane Campion"!
Lizbot (host) 7:00:16 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Oh I have gotten lost on those sandy unpaved Piney roads before and learned my lesson! Went into that John Heinz preserve sometime in the early 90s and never came back out again
Lizbot (host) 7:01:39 PM
@Carlos Ramone - haha, yeah well you can tell I used to live at 16th & Spruce and DJ'd at the Tritone by my familiarity with that special! Memories...Not all of them unhazy
Lizbot (host) 7:01:58 PM
Hi Randy Marthins!
Randy Marthins 7:03:11 PM
@roffle "There is an ancient village hidden deep in the Pine Barrens on forgotten roads... Go not there..." LOTS of those, actually - I know because I live near them
Lizbot (host) 7:04:01 PM
@Carlos Ramone - Tritone and B&B's were very much my neighborhood bars in the late 90s/first half of the 2000s. A few friends were in Dumpsta Players, who used to perform at Bob & Barbara's. I used to DJ Sugar Town nights, booked by Sara Sherr, at the Tritone. RIP Rick
Van Kapeghian 7:05:38 PM
@roffle which town? Batsto is near me, but Ong's Hat has a fun story behind it
Lizbot (host) 7:05:45 PM
@Randy Marthins - I legitimately got very very lost with my mom for hours on one of the roads circa '93 or so. Never thought we'd make our way out. Everything looks the same to the untrained eye! I never got into The Sopranos, but when that episode came out with North Jersey guys get lost in the Pineys, I had to watch it. That was great and a bit like Miller's Crossing
Randy Marthins 7:05:51 PM
I discovered a band from a calendar on the Punk Rock Museums socials named "Bruntmill Ghosts" - I live near a street called Burnt Mill Road, and we have a ghost
Roffle 0x7EA 7:06:26 PM
They spray oil on the street sands to protect themselves from Jersey demons. lol
Randy Marthins 7:06:53 PM
https://weirdnj.com/stories/atco-ghost/
Van Kapeghian 7:07:23 PM
@Randy - you're in Atco? I'm in Medford Lakes. I drive through there all the time going to see ma in Berlin
Lizbot (host) 7:07:27 PM
@Van Kapeghian - My parents insisted on bringing my brother & I to see Don McLean during a horrendous heatwave in Batsto. I will forever associate that place with my mom's friend Jackie, visiting from much cooler London, passing out at that show! That and some naked hippies swimming in the lake
Randy Marthins 7:08:40 PM
@lizbot - that's actually the ONLY episode of The Sopranos I've seen; there's a Jersey Devil episode of the X-Files which is total crap
Roffle 0x7EA 7:09:29 PM
Van Kapeghian, I love Batsto! I found all these old square nails there as a kid and looked eye level with the Ceder lake. Lovely.
Lizbot (host) 7:09:37 PM
@Randy Marthins - Same! Never had a desire to see any more of The Sopranos, but I DID enjoy that episode! That unkillable henchmen guy from some frozen former soviet place like Siberia was unbothered by the Pineys in winter!
Van Kapeghian 7:09:40 PM
@Liz - my wife and I go hiking at Batsto a few times a year. I've been there on a ridiculously hot day, don't blame the hippies, haha
Lizbot (host) 7:10:02 PM
@Randy Marthins - Never saw The X-Files, but it figures they did a Jersey Devil episode
Randy Marthins 7:10:11 PM
@van - via Jackson road I'm guessing? if you go down atco Ave, almost to 73, that's where I sm
Lizbot (host) 7:10:39 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @Van Kapeghian - Cedar water = Brown to hide all the leeches!
Van Kapeghian 7:11:11 PM
@Randy - exactly, and I used to go visit the Music Place all the time right there
Lizbot (host) 7:11:31 PM
So many Pineys folks! I grew up going to Camp Matolleonquay, where my mom was a councilor in the 60s. She used to hunt down wild blueberries and make blueberry ice cream with the camp cook
Randy Marthins 7:11:33 PM
Leeches snakes & snapping turtles
Van Kapeghian 7:12:02 PM
@Liz - that cedar water is supposedly good for dog's ears, according to one of my vets growing up
Randy Marthins 7:12:10 PM
@van - Roma pizza!!!
Van Kapeghian 7:12:35 PM
@Liz - Camp Matty is right around the corner from me! I run through there all the time.
Van Kapeghian 7:12:53 PM
@Randy - that place is so good
Roffle 0x7EA 7:14:22 PM
Okay, it's a little rough around the edges, but hey, that's the charming sell point.
Lizbot (host) 7:14:26 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Oh, no way! I speak from experience about those leeches! The camp counselors used to warn us kids not to grab ahold of the wood dock where we moored our canoes because of leeches. I did not heed their warning. That wood was COVERED in leeches
Lizbot (host) 7:15:10 PM
@Randy Marthins - Okay, I want Roma pizza now
Ossy 7:16:06 PM
Liz- Portland lighted up, with Tara....that is if the impeding snowstorm isn't bad there https://www.instagram.com/tarasandsvo/p/DTtTA-kkh3O/?hl=en
Lizbot (host) 7:19:08 PM
@Van Kapeghian / @Randy Marthins / @Roffle 0x7EA - Any of you Pineys people familiar with Whitebog Village? Friends of mine had various visual art and concerts there, including screenings with live accompaniment by Erik Ruin's Ominous Cloud Ensemble of the David Kessler's Pine Barrens documentary.
Van Kapeghian 7:20:10 PM
@Liz - we went there on a class trip when I was in grade school. There are some good places to eat in Browns Mills, too.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:20:15 PM
What happened to them? Jersey Devil?
Lizbot (host) 7:20:51 PM
That doc followed another Piney-dwelling friend, Allen Crawford, who is a Pineys park ranger and conservationist, but ALSO an artist who designed one of WPRB's early T-shirts, the robot brain shirt!
Randy Marthins 7:21:25 PM
I've done some trail races around Whitesbog, yeah
Lizbot (host) 7:21:33 PM
@Ossy - Lighting up with Bulbasaur!
Lizbot (host) 7:22:32 PM
@Van Kapeghian - Browns Mills is a nice place to explore. I used to hit up that annual Blueberry Festival, but haven't gone in years
Lizbot (host) 7:23:27 PM
@Randy Marthins - I love a good sunset reflecting on the bogs in Whitesbog
Randy Marthins 7:23:44 PM
In 2023, I intended to run the 20 miles from Ancora to Haddonfield to commemorate the 45th anniversary of "Halloween," mostly down 561
Lizbot (host) 7:25:06 PM
My mom, a born-and-raised South Jersey girl, used to take me to a cranberry festival in the Pineys when I was a kid. I can't remember is that was also in Whitesbog, but the main thing I remember about it was a lot of hammered dulcimer players!
Randy Marthins 7:25:30 PM
Here's the Kettle Run version --- https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5282151568
Lizbot (host) 7:25:54 PM
@Randy Marthins - oooh, I'd have talked that up on DevilPlusGhoul! I am always down for John Carpenter/Halloween lore!
Lizbot (host) 7:26:30 PM
@Randy Marthins - My Girl Scout troop used to go to camp at Kettle Run and Inawenawin!
Lizbot (host) 7:27:13 PM
Anyone remember the Lucky Seven roadside lunch place in the Pineys??
Roffle 0x7EA 7:27:25 PM
That Hammer Dulcimer is what you hear just before you see the Wickerman, amd that kinda thing happens more than you might think down there.
Lizbot (host) 7:27:51 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - ha!
Lizbot (host) 7:34:53 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - ha! I welcome my new lord and master, Lord Summerisle. Maybe he can give us guidance. All we need is a hapless stranger to satisfy the gods
Roffle 0x7EA 7:36:02 PM
The Mob can drop them off at your convenience.
Lizbot (host) 7:37:35 PM
I mention Lucky Seven (maybe it was written as The Lucky 7) because one of my more traumatic Pineys memories is the time my mom and I stopped for a hoagie at Lucky Seven, (always followed by frozen custard at Evergreen Dairy Bar,) as was our tradition / my consolation prize for being dropped off at summer camp for two weeks, and that particular time - the LAST time we ever ate at Lucy Seven! - my mom and I split a hoagie, I took a bite, looked down, saw half a cockroach amidst my provolone
Lizbot (host) 7:37:53 PM
(The Lucky Seven is LONG gone!) Evergreen LIVES!
Lizbot (host) 7:38:43 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Sure, why not? Better than leaving people in Olga's Diner's parking lot
Lizbot (host) 7:40:27 PM
@Randy Marthins - Did you ever complete the Michael Myers Comes Home run?? My brother & I had to watch "Halloween" in Haddonfield every Halloween and I've kept up the tradition with my kid
Roffle 0x7EA 7:41:32 PM
1/2 a cockroach is not 1/2 as concerning. Quite the opposite.
Lizbot (host) 7:43:37 PM
Sheriff Leigh Brackett: "Well, it's Halloween. I guess everyone's entitled to one good scare, huh?" "Doctor, do you know what Haddonfield is? Families, children, all lined up in rows up and down these streets. Are you telling me they're lined up for the slaughter?" Oh we got thrills from all the Haddonfield lines, just pissing off the uptight Haddonfield Borough Hall and the uptight ladies auxiliary at the Haddonfield Fortnightly with every mention of the town! DEEPLY satisfying.
Lizbot (host) 7:44:46 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, it was worse than the naked hippies in the lake at Batsto. I will never forget the overheated drunken mob just tearing into Don McLean, yelling "PLAY AMERICAN PIE" over every single one of his songs, even "Vincent"
John Coffey 7:44:49 PM
Hi @lizbot Guerilla Toss brought me into chat!
Lizbot (host) 7:45:10 PM
Hi John Coffey!
Lizbot (host) 7:45:56 PM
@John Coffey - Nice! How's it going? Boat winterized? I have one uncle and one in-law in my family who are boat owners and they're always talking about winterizing!
Lizbot (host) 7:46:38 PM
@John Coffey - I saw Guerilla Toss at PhilaMOCA in their earlier incarnation when they were more of a noise band, but I prefer the current incarnation
Roffle 0x7EA 7:46:45 PM
Over Vincent crosses the line. SMH
Lizbot (host) 7:47:09 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - For real. They couldn't just enjoy the starry, starry night?!
John Coffey 7:47:52 PM
And watching lots of tv weather news, wishing I was walking distance to Wissahickon on Sunday for the snow. West Philly will do for a few hours but then it gets slush iced overnight.
Lizbot (host) 7:47:58 PM
@John Coffey - That You're Weird Now Guerrilla Toss album is one of my favorite releases of 2025. Getting to a few more this set, and maybe during the 8-11 I'm subbing during!
Lizbot (host) 7:48:47 PM
This jangly Beths album is another highlight of 2025 releases for me
Lizbot (host) 7:50:07 PM
@John Coffey - I have the Wissahickon nearby, and it's very pretty, but I'm on one of the side streets that never gets plowed! So any snow sights outside of my block I'd have to take in on foot
John Coffey 7:50:28 PM
Sad to admit that I only made it to MOCA my 1st time last month. So how many times did I miss Lydia Lunch there? Really great owner.
Lizbot (host) 7:52:45 PM
@John Coffey - PhilaMOCA is great. I am forever grateful for that place. Well curated shows and oddball movie screenings/guests
michael gudgeon 7:55:54 PM
yooo just got here was bummed thought the show was ending but then saw you were on till 11 cmon!
michael gudgeon 7:56:36 PM
have that shirt with the art too super dope!
Lizbot (host) 7:56:56 PM
Hi Michael gudgeon!
Lizbot (host) 7:57:46 PM
@Michael gudgeon - Yes! The 2nd consecutive week of Quadrupleplusgood shows!
Lizbot (host) 7:59:17 PM
@Michael gudgeon - The melting psychedelic black white and red cat shirt (I think it was our 3rd WPRB cat shirt) is one of my all-time favorites!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:01:48 PM
Oh, I forget... still here. lol
Lizbot (host) 8:03:21 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Oh yes, Part Deux
Jo Sublingual 8:03:43 PM
I love this st tropez song hehe
Lizbot (host) 8:04:14 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Lessee how tired I get. I got 3 hours of sleep last night!
Lizbot (host) 8:04:19 PM
Hi Jo Sublingual!
TAndy 8:04:55 PM
Heya Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 8:05:18 PM
@Jo Sublingual - I love Telex. I went to a wedding in the French Riviera (sister-in-law married a guy from there,) last summer, drove past Saint Tropez playing this song! Also the Pink Floyd Saint Tropez song!
Lizbot (host) 8:05:30 PM
Good morning/evening/morning TAndy!
Lizbot (host) 8:06:41 PM
@TAndy - Glad to see you're here for Shift #2 of Doubleplusgood: Quadrupleplusgood After Dark
Roffle 0x7EA 8:11:01 PM
Circadian rhythms be damned, the bell is struck!
Lizbot (host) 8:11:24 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I'm locked in!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:13:27 PM
Cabin fever is on special this weekend.
Lizbot (host) 8:14:15 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - At least my cabin is not in the woods!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:15:44 PM
Are the woods real?
Roffle 0x7EA 8:16:50 PM
NJ woods
TAndy 8:17:01 PM
I'm glad to be here! Such a rare occasion :)
Lizbot (host) 8:17:05 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Who can say?
Lizbot (host) 8:17:29 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Whose woods are these? I think I know. He's Mother Leed's 13th child, though.
Lizbot (host) 8:17:56 PM
@TAndy - yay! I will be playing a video game soundtrack soon, though not Night In the Woods this time!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:20:59 PM
That's on the way to LBI. Don't get off the trail.
Lizbot (host) 8:22:08 PM
Here we go!

The King of the Cosmos is kicking off the Doubleplusgood afterparty!
Lizbot (host) 8:24:08 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I never came back from those woods in 1993. Lizbot is a bodysnatcher bot
Lizbot (host) 8:25:43 PM
I am eating Brazilian cheese breads while bopping my head to this. This is my dinner.
Roffle 0x7EA 8:25:51 PM
Oh dear! You must have swam in the ceder waters.
Lizbot (host) 8:26:11 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - The Lady of the Lake dragged me under
Lizbot (host) 8:27:38 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I'm assuming this isn't specific to Camp Matolleonequay I attended for most of my elementary and teen summers, but Matolly very much had a deeply-imbedded lore about a ghost-lady who walked the bridge over the lake at night, wailing
Roffle 0x7EA 8:30:32 PM
Does she do parties? Because I will go to that party.
Lizbot (host) 8:31:34 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I want her to guest on DevilPlusGhoul with Killbot!
G Jax 8:32:04 PM
Camp Matolleonequay. Haven't heard that name in years. Had to copy and paste it. Would have no idea how to spell it. Went there for a week in 8th grade. 6th grade was Mt Misery.
Roffle 0x7EA 8:32:22 PM
Sounds like set-break material to me. :)
Lizbot (host) 8:33:03 PM
Hi G Jax!
G Jax 8:33:22 PM
Hey Lizzz
Lizbot (host) 8:33:42 PM
@G Jax - Oh I remember Mount Misery! That was a Girl Scout troop excursion!
Lizbot (host) 8:35:04 PM
@G Jax - Matolly used to have us campers dutifully sing that camp anthem wherein we spelled out the camp's name, ensuring we would NEVER forget!
Lizbot (host) 8:36:08 PM
@G Jax - And of course it was further drilled into my head by my mom, who has had that song stuck in her head since the late 50s/ealry 60s when she was a camp counselor there
G Jax 8:36:13 PM
I think Mt Misery was predominately a Girl Scout camp. But that where we went for the school camping trip. I think they ended those trips not long after I was past that age
G Jax 8:37:46 PM
The cabins at Mt Misery all had names. The one I was in was called Larch. Can't believe I remember that
Roffle 0x7EA 8:38:31 PM
How did they say it in the old tongue? The Matolleonequay Tribe outta Red Bank over on 13th st.? They might still speak the language at the pool hall.
G Jax 8:38:32 PM
Marilou was far more rustic than Misery was
G Jax 8:38:54 PM
* Matolleonequay

George Korein 8:51:01 PM
In the depths of morodorein, I met a Liz so Bot
Lizbot (host) 8:51:37 PM
@G Jax - Mount Misery could've used a better PR team. My kid went to a camp in the Pineys called Dark Waters, which my mom always said sounded too ominous, but I'm gonna go ahead and nominate Mount Misery as Most Ominous
Lizbot (host) 8:51:59 PM
@George Korein - "In the depths of morodorein, I met a Liz so Bot" - HA
George Korein 8:51:59 PM
She said she liked my life in the bush of ghosts, our conversation started getting hot
Lizbot (host) 8:52:18 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Witches make the best gingerbread. That's just science.
Lizbot (host) 8:52:34 PM
HI Tyler B.!
Lizbot (host) 8:52:57 PM
@G Jax - Unfamiliar with Marilou. Jersey?
George Korein 8:53:04 PM

Roffle 0x7EA 8:53:20 PM
They've got skills
Lizbot (host) 8:53:37 PM
@George Korein - Or peril: Cranberry. Beware of the Bog signs everywhere. Hammered dulcimers will hammer your skull
George Korein 8:53:54 PM
Verily, a shark named Marilee is tracked via oceanography
Lizbot (host) 8:54:57 PM
@George Korein - I believe that Gene Pritsker song was both herky AND jerky
George Korein 8:55:21 PM

Lizbot (host) 8:57:01 PM
@Tyler B. - I almost missed you in here, you popped in early in my loong mic break, but yeah, those Katamari soundtracks are near and dear! I love everything about that game
Ossy 8:57:16 PM
This Mega Man vibes 🔵🤖
Lizbot (host) 8:57:43 PM
@Ossy - oh YEAH. You're totally right. No wonder it's ear candy to me
Ossy 8:58:00 PM
Plus, nice intriguing reeking camping wilderness stories, haha
Tyler B. 8:58:28 PM
Thanks for your super-show, lizbot! This and your previous one have been such a treat
Ossy 8:58:44 PM
Haha, and was speaking to someone of mega man of the 8bit era

George Korein 9:01:25 PM
Oh well timed how the announcement immediately preceded the crescendo!
Roffle 0x7EA 9:01:25 PM
If only Y2K did it thing proper, then we could be having a good time inventing fire and whatnot again.
Lizbot (host) 9:01:31 PM
@aaa a - Instant Holograms On Metal Film was another favorite album of 2025 for me.
Lizbot (host) 9:01:59 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - The monolith would do all that for us, though
George Korein 9:02:09 PM
Why 2k? Why 4k?
Roffle 0x7EA 9:02:33 PM
Pay per K
Lizbot (host) 9:03:31 PM
@George Korein - I'm calling you 5G4K from now on
Roffle 0x7EA 9:03:37 PM
The monolith needs a jump start or something.
George Korein 9:03:47 PM
Fire, to begin whipping dance of the dead / blackened… is a brand of whisky
Lizbot (host) 9:03:59 PM
@Ossy - Yes! I love hearing Tis! Was glad they were on right before me today!
George Korein 9:04:58 PM
I’m 4 kangaroos who are 5 gangsters
Lizbot (host) 9:05:00 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Kick the 'lith. That 'lith better get lithe, or I'm liable to split it with a scythe
Roffle 0x7EA 9:06:19 PM
Rock on
George Korein 9:06:25 PM
Or 4 kangaroos who are carrying 5 gangsters… joeys in the pouches
Lizbot (host) 9:06:31 PM
@George Korein - I knew you seemed too hyper. Now it ALL makes sense. Sorry Miss Jackson, I am four 'roos. Didn't mean to kick your daughter's eye, but I'm kangaroos and not a guy
G Jax 9:06:41 PM
A white back @Liz. I meant Camp Matolleonequay. But was driving at the moment and it thought I said something else.
Lizbot (host) 9:07:51 PM
Adjusted the program to be 20% more hype in the later hours
Lizbot (host) 9:08:06 PM
@G Jax - Ah!
George Korein 9:09:51 PM
Gives K-pop a whole new meaning
Lizbot (host) 9:09:52 PM
@George Korein - Here lies the body of Marilee, tracked to the waves of 103.3
Roffle 0x7EA 9:10:02 PM
Is there a monument at at Camp Matolleonequay to stop at momentarily?
George Korein 9:10:23 PM
Can I kick it? No you can’t
George Korein 9:11:31 PM
Don’t kick my daughter you Aussie pissant
Lizbot (host) 9:11:40 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - hmmmm, not that I can recall at the moment
Lizbot (host) 9:12:27 PM

George Korein 9:12:33 PM
La la la la LAA
George Korein 9:13:10 PM
Kiwis don’t kick like kangaroos
Roffle 0x7EA 9:13:29 PM
Oh, damn shame, but what can you do?
George Korein 9:13:35 PM
Thus they don’t give ms Jackson the blues
George Korein 9:14:33 PM
Unh! It’s getting optical in here!
Lizbot (host) 9:14:47 PM
Kiwis only see in greens
Roffle 0x7EA 9:14:52 PM
Lots of blues in Jackson MS though.
Lizbot (host) 9:15:17 PM
N'whatta I mean, N'ymean?
Lizbot (host) 9:15:56 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - True blues coming through there
George Korein 9:15:58 PM
Perhaps ms Jackson is from Jackson ms
George Korein 9:16:53 PM

Roffle 0x7EA 9:25:29 PM

Lizbot (host) 9:31:35 PM
@aaa a - indeed! Another 90 minutes! I think I can make it!
Lizbot (host) 9:32:33 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Listen, son: Glisten son listlessly in the glistening sun. essssessssssssssessss. Queue snakes
Lizbot (host) 9:35:25 PM
This song galumphs along like a disco beast
Roffle 0x7EA 9:36:48 PM
Glisten carefully...
George Korein 9:37:54 PM
Gliss on, glissando
Ossy 9:38:31 PM
kangaroos scary at night, imagine walking and you see a human sized creature the next moment lol
Lizbot (host) 9:39:08 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @George Korein - It's almost as if you're both some sort of Gliss Riffers
George Korein 9:39:16 PM
raise a snifter to the gliss riffer
George Korein 9:39:35 PM
yes we're riffing like the gramercy riffs
Lizbot (host) 9:39:55 PM
@Ossy - Kangaroos are possibly the scariest animal in Australia, and I realize that is a big claim, but they are RIPPED and they jump-kick people!
George Korein 9:40:56 PM
fitting niblets into stiff spliffs we split with kin and kith
Lizbot (host) 9:42:23 PM
Banana Boy gushes about Bath Boy
George Korein 9:43:24 PM
the life of bath is flush with gushing
Roffle 0x7EA 9:43:33 PM
A riff befitting a king.
George Korein 9:43:52 PM
the wifes of bath are the queens of flushing
Lizbot (host) 9:43:59 PM
Fitting niblets in the cold night, you're libel to freeze your giblets with frostbite
Lizbot (host) 9:44:38 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Truly a Regal Riffier, none are Spiffier
George Korein 9:45:00 PM
i meant wives, not wifes. wild women with steak knives, not knifes. that's not a knive, this is a knife. That's not alive, this is the life.
George Korein 9:46:24 PM
i'm liable to libel
Lizbot (host) 9:47:02 PM
@George Korein - I diamand a gala!
George Korein 9:47:19 PM

Lizbot (host) 9:50:32 PM
I like my crocs like my steak knives: Dull and unable to take lives
George Korein 9:50:50 PM
haha!
Ossy 9:51:31 PM
Liz- too true, some people have testimonies of being attacked by them!!!
George Korein 9:52:25 PM
unsharpened slippers, no sharpener in the kitchen, or in the wardrobe that these croco styles live in
Lizbot (host) 9:52:33 PM
@Ossy - Cocodrilos get a huge no no from me! I saw a massive on in the Rio Sierpe in Costa Rica and I cared not for it!
Lizbot (host) 9:53:30 PM
I like a slow gator. Slow as the breath of Vader. I like my 'dile to take a while.
George Korein 9:53:48 PM
this is not a drilo, this is real hot cocoa. the aroma rising from it is so rico it's loco
Roffle 0x7EA 9:53:49 PM
Another skill to hone, there's no place like home.
George Korein 9:54:49 PM
i give cocodrilos a Si+
Lizbot (host) 9:55:26 PM
@Ossy - I was TOLD to move in a zig-zag to confuse a gator should I encounter one when I was a kid on vacation in Seabrook Island, South Carolina, which is lousy with gators, so I took that to heart when a massive one came out of the grass right next to me as my brother & I walked back from the pool. I couldn't have been more than 8 and I dutifully made a zigzag, meanwhile, my older brother sprinted away and left me in the dust!
Roffle 0x7EA 9:55:51 PM
No tropical rivers for me. I draw the line at ceder lakes.
George Korein 9:56:40 PM
cocodrilos way cooler than leeches
George Korein 9:57:29 PM
winning smile, invisible sunglasses, impeccable dental care
Lizbot (host) 9:57:55 PM
@George Korein - Don't give cocodrilos C+! They don't need software
Roffle 0x7EA 9:58:15 PM
They make great boots too.
Lizbot (host) 9:59:05 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Tropical rivers = cool animals and teaming with candiru with a can du attitude
George Korein 10:00:12 PM
at least i didn't give them doubleplusC
Lizbot (host) 10:00:19 PM
@GEorge Korein - "this is not a drilo, this is real hot cocoa. the aroma rising from it is so rico it's loco" - Is this when I tell you there's a drink called Coco Rico!
George Korein 10:02:14 PM
coco rico... a drink for a tico toco toucan
Roffle 0x7EA 10:03:13 PM
Got a thing about swimming with things that can eat me. I worked on a ship in Alaska. I know what comes up in the bags.
George Korein 10:03:49 PM

George Korein 10:07:39 PM
oh dear! can i bring you something?
Ossy 10:07:43 PM
Liz- Speaking more of nature, camping and wilderness madness, this sweet, amiable, free spirited, natural girl in tune with all things nature and music, who's still vanished to this day, is someone you'll like! https://www.google.com/search?q=maureen+anu+kelly&oq=anu+kelly&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCAgDEAAYFhgeMgkIABBFGDkYgAQyCQgBEEUYOxiABDIICAIQABgWGB4yCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjIKCAUQABgKGBYYHjIICAYQABgWGB4yCAgHEAAYFhgeMggICBAAGBYYHjIICAkQABgWGB4yCAgKEAAYFhgeMggICxAAGBYYHjIICAwQABgWGB4yCAgNEAAYFhgeMg

steve erwin starred in "the sting"
Lizbot (host) 10:08:34 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I'm more concerned with microscopic parasites and bacteria in the water than I am with shorks. I willingly swam with shorks
George Korein 10:08:38 PM
a documentary about the ray that killed him
George Korein 10:09:08 PM
not a ray of sunshine, that one
Ossy 10:09:14 PM
Oh yeah, still shocked of Steve Irwin passing, and was in Disney World, having 2nd thoughts of snorkeling, which had stingrays there
George Korein 10:10:18 PM
i need to work on my own music but i'm too busy listening and word-riffing
Lizbot (host) 10:10:23 PM
@George Korein - Oh man. Brutal. I Shaw saw it, and I emerged a Newman
Lizbot (host) 10:10:48 PM
@George Korein - RiffTracks beckon
George Korein 10:11:31 PM
robert redford and paul newman, why are you grifting steve erwin? crikey!
Lizbot (host) 10:12:02 PM
@Ossy - Steve Irwin's death was one of those once in a million chance things. Rays are so gentle, they eat conch! It's so bizarre he got stung right in the heart
George Korein 10:13:19 PM
a lethal cupid, that ray
Lizbot (host) 10:14:02 PM
@George Korein - Hit with a Death Ray
George Korein 10:14:06 PM
i hope it was put on trial and its stinger confiscated
George Korein 10:14:45 PM
yes a rare death ray
George Korein 10:15:11 PM
the rarest of meats
Lizbot (host) 10:15:11 PM
@George Korein - Death Ray Davy, he's bad but is he worse than rabies?
Lizbot (host) 10:15:39 PM
It mistook Steve Irwin for a conch shell. Honest mistake.
Ossy 10:16:22 PM
Liz- Ikr!? The force of fearless bravery, mostly with crocodiles! Also, heard that Irwin happened to swim above or behind the ray, which assumed he was a predator or hostile wildlife
Ossy 10:16:56 PM
And also a natural lovely name, Maureen "Anu" Kelly
Lizbot (host) 10:18:02 PM
@OSsy - Oof, yeah I weirdly always pictured that accident in a comically unlikely way: That Steve was IN the boat and a ray sorta launched itself, stinger-first, at his chest, which makes no sense whatsoever, but it's always been the image I've had in my head ever since it happened
Lizbot (host) 10:19:10 PM
@Ossy - It makes way more sense that he was in the water and it got its defenses up. Still exceptionally rare for a ray to pierce so deep as to stab a heart! But weirder things have happened.
Lizbot (host) 10:21:11 PM
Music to Rob Trains to
Roffle 0x7EA 10:23:13 PM
@Lizbot, yeah, the microscopic is brutally scary across the board.
Lizbot (host) 10:24:08 PM
I am pleased with the bird whistles in this train-robbing circus song
Roffle 0x7EA 10:24:45 PM
Death Ray sharks with lasers?
Lizbot (host) 10:24:56 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, I know of a musician I met a couple times who is blind in one eye due to washing his contact lenses in parasite-infested tap water while traveling
Lizbot (host) 10:25:57 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Death rays are just rays that go for the heart
Roffle 0x7EA 10:26:10 PM
Yeah, I don't go to New York much for that reason.
Lizbot (host) 10:26:13 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Not to be confused with Death Ray Davies
George Korein 10:26:30 PM
"to be perfectly fronch, i thought you were a conch"
Lizbot (host) 10:27:07 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - You don't believe the hype? The biggest PR campaign EVER has GOT to be New York City insisting that their tap water is the best and the cleanest in the world!
Lizbot (host) 10:28:13 PM
@George Korein - Someone else is perfectly Phranc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phranc
George Korein 10:28:47 PM
she enjoys being a Phranc
Roffle 0x7EA 10:28:48 PM
We'll see who's laughing after the zombie plague.
Lizbot (host) 10:29:24 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - It's not the dirtiest water I've ever had, but I'm not buying it that it's the cleanest. It doesn't taste that great.
Roffle 0x7EA 10:31:18 PM
It's fine in general. But filters are just common seance if you can get them.
Jim Otter 10:32:08 PM
Hi all! Supposedly the water thing is due to the outdated pipes it travels through after it's treated. I hate to hear about your friend, Lizbot, but I definitely heard from every eye doctor I ever had to keep plain water of any kind away from contacts, and take them out if water gets in your eye :(
Lizbot (host) 10:36:53 PM
Hi Jim Otter!
Lizbot (host) 10:38:13 PM
@Jim Otter - Yeah, it's scary! One of the many reasons I have never considered contacts. The formative one those was seeing my older cousin turn his eyelid inside out to remove his in front of me when I was little. Freaked me out!
Ossy 10:39:35 PM
As scary as teeth removals and experimental anesthesia
Lizbot (host) 10:40:32 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - It's almost like New Yorkers were subliminally fed this line about how great their tap water is in their sleep as kids, because I cannot otherwise account for how often people make this claim.
Roffle 0x7EA 10:40:58 PM
Experimental anesthesia is the best band name candidate of the year so far.
Lizbot (host) 10:41:13 PM
@Ossy - ughhhhhhhh, teeth removal/teeth falling out is one of those recurring nightmares of mine I thankfully haven't experienced in a long whike
Ossy 10:44:06 PM
For the ray, likely in close proximity. I always keep my distance from general wild animals haha...and plus when I was Disney water kingdom 2006, was afraid of deep water and couldn't swim well
Roffle 0x7EA 10:44:54 PM
Water has no taste per say, so if you tell someone that only has had that water that, that is good water, then how would you know otherwise? Vicious circle that one.
Ossy 10:45:27 PM
Liz - and the unavoidable dentistry smells, from the saliva, rubber gloves, blood
Lizbot (host) 10:47:07 PM
@OSsy - And it's better for the animal too! When snorkeling and scuba-diving with sea turtles, ppl are advised to keep some distance, not so much because the turtles are aggressive, because they really aren't, despite having the beak, which they mostly use to crack up shellfish - It's because they get startled and drown, which is so sad! I love sea turts
Ossy 10:47:07 PM
experimental anesthesia, something for Halloween also, haha
Rob from Maryland 🦀 10:47:16 PM
My wife, who loves Tanzmusik, is dancing around rn
Lizbot (host) 10:47:57 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - YAY! Happy to hear it! Dance like so many crab with their pinchers raised skyward! 🦀🦀🦀
Lizbot (host) 10:49:20 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - True, but also Philly tap and NYC tap have different tastes and I'd say neither taste great, honestly. At least I haven't had brown water in Philly like I occasionally see in nYC, but that's rust in the pipes
Roffle 0x7EA 10:50:30 PM
It's better than well water with a sulfer taste. Texas has plenty of that.
Ossy 10:50:37 PM
Liz- i see why, from their beak mouth, haha! For that Anu missing girl, scary she vanished since the 2010s with no trace, that the k9 dogs lost her scent at a creek ravine (within Washington Gifford National Park)

@Roffle 0x7EA - Sounds nasty! I can't really remember what the water tasted like in Austin, maybe because I was using it to wash down spicy tacos and couldn't taste anything beyond Porchy's hot sauce
Lizbot (host) 10:52:24 PM
@Ossy - Yikes!
Ossy 10:53:40 PM
Yeah, a real life scary sad story I came across! The anu kelly girl seems extremely sunny, neighborly and amiable free spirited, from many people that knew her!
Roffle 0x7EA 10:54:05 PM
You want city water in most of Texas big time. Austin and the big cities are okay.
Number 6 10:55:41 PM
Still here for the everlovin' end, BCNU!
Lizbot (host) 10:55:56 PM
@Ossy - Oof. That's so sad
Roffle 0x7EA 10:56:37 PM
Road trip tap water is dangerous as a rule.
Lizbot (host) 10:56:52 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - My husband's cousin left Austen after 10 years there and I suspect that week-long blackout a few years ago had something to do with it
Lizbot (host) 10:57:07 PM
Thanks for listening, Number 6!

I always run something at the end until the switchover just in case.
Lizbot (host) 11:03:52 PM
@Number 6 - I do too. I'm still playing music, never stopped. That ID automatically played, then nothing
Number 6 11:04:07 PM
No funky drummer either.
Roffle 0x7EA 11:04:40 PM
