Patrick, Junior wants to join in on a morning zoo format. He is already barking
Patrick White 10:18:34 AM
45 years ago this weekend limited entertainment options.David Brenner,Allman Brothers,Steve Goodman,Jonathan Edward’s with Eric Anderson,Shirley Scott .The Spinners, and at Third Street Jazz the unveiling of a Frank Rizzo ice sculpture
Patrick White 10:19:21 AM
Actually Junior is much more talented and interesting than DiBaldy ever was.
Brian D 10:19:27 AM
Liked hearing that one again w.the cello etc. Sankofa by Cosmic Tones Research Trio. Heard a great version of Sunshower (Kenny Barron piece) done up nicely by Ron Carter the other day. Ron on the bowed piccolo bass sounding like a cello. Gave his LP the title "Piccolo". Good stuff.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:20:22 AM
I'll have to listen to that. It may have been a 2 record set. That track, of course, is classic.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 10:20:31 AM
Love this percussion
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:20:43 AM
This percussionist here is classic. Amazing
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 10:21:00 AM
This rhythm is hypnotic.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:21:06 AM
Christine, I have more of your stuff coming up next
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:21:24 AM
Tether yourself to your desk
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:26:20 AM
Patrick, the 3rd St. customers melted the Rizzo statue with their zippo lighters. That was the most popular entertainment that weekend
Patrick White 10:26:35 AM
Remembering that great Harry Chaplin Taxi song. How did that get AM airplay with almost 7 minute length?
Patrick White 10:28:07 AM
Your heating bill must have been astronomical.i remember those old radiators cooking
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:31:11 AM
Haha, what a good memory you have! That's hysterical! I think only one of them worked!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:33:01 AM
We relied on human breath and body heat to get by. We eventually broke down and got some kind of hot air blower on the second floor. And proud to have never bought a rug ever.
Patrick White 10:34:58 AM
That was the Just Say No To Rugs Era
Brian D 10:36:49 AM
This one with the mallet perc is nice.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:37:42 AM
Ding ding ding! Score, Patrick!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:38:46 AM
Brian, this vibraphonist put out an excellent CD last year and has just come out with this on a different label. I agree with you, this is excellent.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 10:40:57 AM
That was a really lovely Yuhan Su piece. 🌛🌜
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:42:59 AM
Glad you liked!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:43:52 AM
This is dang good!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:44:49 AM
I like people who scream during their instrumental performance
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 10:47:30 AM
🥁🪘 p e r c u s s i o n ✨️ 💯
Patrick White 10:47:42 AM
I remember you tried to make Sam Kinison a vocalist on Evidence Records.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 10:48:33 AM
And there's that theme song again 🎶 🐦
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:49:00 AM
Thank you, Christine!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:49:32 AM
Sam had a perfect voice for scatting, similar to Ella Fitzgerald
Richard Mitnick 10:50:54 AM
What a joy to have you early in an extended version. I have been clicked in all day. Happy to have you in my digiteria. I hope you have a great show.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 10:51:33 AM
Thank you, Richard. Don't get too joyous before noon!
Roffle 0x7EA 10:53:05 AM
Sounds like the hippies are into the beatnik stash early. :)
Patrick White 10:55:13 AM
Dave the Obscure actually was selected over me for that Friday slot. My program was going to be called Patrick the Obtuse.
G Jax 10:55:38 AM
JERRY!!!!
G Jax 10:56:07 AM
First, I've caught you in 2026. Happy new year Jerry
G Jax 10:57:24 AM
Hey, great description of WPRB you just did there. And thank you for not saying New Jersey's only radio station. That tagline never makes sense. Should be just New Jersey's best radio station. Actually it's the best radio station period
Patrick White 11:01:00 AM
Jerry’s record store inspired many . Friend of mine got into punk rock in Jerry’s basement. 9 months later started his own somewhat famous band .
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:05:14 AM
Hi G Jax. Thank you, I love EVERYTHING you just said and I'm only telling the truth!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:05:40 AM
I'm always glad when you show up with that Florida? sunshine!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:06:13 AM
Patrick, you old punk rocker you. Who was the person/band?
G Jax 11:09:18 AM
There's a couple younger DJs that are great on the station, but there's always things that aren't quite right. I wish they would spend more time listening to some of the more veteran DJs like yourself Jerry. I offered that as advice, unappreciated I might add, on one person show. I just want the station to be as good as it could be. Sometimes what I say are reflections of comments others have said when I try to turn them onto the station.
TAndy 11:09:34 AM
What a joy to have your selections just before I go to sleep for the day. Cheers, Jerry!
Mike Constantine 11:09:46 AM
Lunch with Jerry
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:14:21 AM
Well G Jax, every DJ should strive to get better. It's hard to have that focus sometimes when you are a student with an insane amount of schoolwork and other ambitions. We've had some good ones though!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:15:34 AM
Hi, TAndy. Nighty night! Are you a mad genius inventor working in your basement?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:16:00 AM
Hey Mike, thanks, I know this is very early for you!
Patrick White 11:16:06 AM
Jerry The guy name was Neil He became Jackal and fronted YDI . They had a single called Rizzos coming Back and their album was called A Place in the Sun with Mussolini on the cover. They were fairly popular
Russell Woessner 11:16:18 AM
DAVID TUDOR: A VIEW FROM INSIDE, an exhibition and series of performances featuring the music of the experimental composer opened yesterday at the Pearlstein Gallery, 3401 Filbert St, in West Philly and continues through March 21. https://www.bowerbird.org/event/david-tudor-a-view-from-inside/

Communications majors and their correspondence coarse loads. smh
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 11:16:58 AM
Good info, thanks @Russell
Mike Constantine 11:16:59 AM
One of my fav DJs over the last few years is Diedre....what a well thought out show
TAndy 11:17:18 AM
No experiments today 😇 that's what you're on the radio for!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:17:38 AM
Hi Russ, you must have set an alarm.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:18:14 AM
Roffle, hi, I don't know if they even offer that at Princeton!
Patrick White 11:18:41 AM
Station is great but we should send some large gentleman to WILLS house and Worried Waltz house to gently convince them to return .
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:19:29 AM
I do know this, one of my daughters went to a very expensive school and begged her to NOT get a degree in something that had no commercial potential Begged!
Patrick White 11:19:37 AM
I once studied Pete Carrillology at Princeton
G Jax 11:19:51 AM
Yeah Jerry, I see your point but I don't know it just seems like some of the younger DJs go with sort of a template that the other younger DJs do. Like handles instead of actual names. Or announcing everything they're going to play on the show before the show even unfolds. I'll just screams amateur and they'd be simple problems to fix. Just my two cents it wasn't asked for, but I'm always happy to pay those two cents. I only say anything at all because I care.
Roffle 0x7EA 11:20:52 AM
Hey Russell, I caught that Ches Smith Clone Row show with Halvorson. Thanks for the heads up.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:21:46 AM
She assured me she would consider my request. So she got a degree in exactly what I didn't want her to pursue and never found a job in "Environmental Studies." But she's doing great and making $$$. What do I know?
Roffle 0x7EA 11:22:10 AM
Kids!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:22:58 AM
Impressed Roffle that you saw Ches Smith! You are a very deep man
Roffle 0x7EA 11:23:54 AM
I think they should have paid the drum machine union scale. lol
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:25:01 AM
G Jax, it's great to express your opinion, I'm glad you did. There's much to be gained by hearing that opinion. Absolutely. Not enough intelligent and respectful discussion in our world, even some might think YOU are full of crap. It's all good!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 11:26:00 AM
Russ, this is e xcellent.
G Jax 11:27:41 AM
Not the first I've heard I'm full of crap.
Patrick White 11:27:43 AM

Russell Woessner 11:32:19 AM

Roffle 0x7EA 11:35:34 AM
@rRuss, When you stated mentioning venues I can often walk to now, I learned a lot about my new insanely musical neighborhood. I do appreciate that.
Patrick White 11:38:03 AM

In a related universe G Jax is the Homer Simpson quote from the docu mirror on itself episode ala Inside the Music: "Fame was like a drug... but what was even more like a drug... was the drugs." That one and Mitch's "I used to do..." line are 2 of my faves.
G Jax 12:05:42 PM
I work in the printing business. And the word blurry Get said fairly often. Well, you know what else was blurry… Mitch Hebert was the best RIP.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:06:05 PM
@Patrick, the delivery ebikes are the problem. They give zero shits.
Patrick White 12:06:27 PM
Hey Russ never been to a concert on Arizona street . Not Oklahoma! What does it Matter!
G Jax 12:07:06 PM
oh there's some fantastic Homer Simpson lines too.
Brian D 12:09:19 PM
The stand up bass accompaniment really added to Mitch H's deal. Stand up doubled. That bit about going over friends' houses to help them stay put (instead of helping them move etc).
Roffle 0x7EA 12:11:09 PM
Stand up, up right.
G Jax 12:11:15 PM
Oh man, yep the standup base definitely added to it. Man all of a sudden like 1000 bitch Hepburn lines are coming into my head. I'm gonna watch that tonight comedians I can watch over and over again actually Heiberg is one of those ones I can.
Matthew Robinson 12:11:53 PM
😂 blunt master
Matthew Robinson 12:12:17 PM
5 hours of Mr. Jerry Gordon.. sure is a happy friday
G Jax 12:12:25 PM
Bitch Hepburn? Sorry I'm talking into this thing. I always feel like I have to make this disclaimer cause the shit I say comes out sound stupid. I can sound stupid on my own rather than things misconstruing what I'm saying.
G Jax 12:13:28 PM
Maybe if I had annunciated when I spoke. My speaking style is more of a blurt. That don't translate well when you're dictating.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:13:33 PM
Chats were made for out of context call and reply or whatever. lol
Brian D 12:14:02 PM
Read somewhere that Papa John Philips did not quite remember writing Me and my Uncle. Something about a drunken poker game with Judy Collins and maybe Crosby and or Stills. She ended up recording the song and gave John credit and he was like all "hmmm what... I wrote what??!!"
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:14:24 PM
Thank you kindly, Matthew
Roffle 0x7EA 12:15:04 PM
@Jax, Elocution is a tough act here. lol
Matthew Robinson 12:15:09 PM

Brian D 12:15:57 PM
G Jax, "voice to text" is maybe the worst, non-functioning, non-improving invention of the past decades. Typing out the words is so much better and always will be - or even easier "swipe type" out the words (a feature where you drag your fingers across a mobile keyboard and trace out words - much better and easier).
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:16:11 PM
Jax, all Roffle DOES is blurt, yet he makes it sound intelligent. Love your input!
Brian D 12:16:11 PM
That and "auto-correct" - horrible invention
Roffle 0x7EA 12:16:38 PM
@Brian, the essence of the sixties.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:17:31 PM
I blurt, therefore I am.
G Jax 12:18:35 PM
Papa John wrote Me And My Uncle ? I had only know the Dead version and then only on the past year I heard the Judy Collin's version. Not who I d expect to cover THAT, to say the least. Always meant to look up who wrote it. Now I don't have to. Thanks
Roffle 0x7EA 12:18:51 PM
Auto-correct is always having another conversation entirely.
Brian D 12:19:33 PM
Auto-complete is great however. A nice gesture "hey maybe you want to type this word but you don't have to.." that is a helpful feature.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:20:08 PM
I love that tab key. :)
G Jax 12:20:50 PM
95.78% of the time I'm in chat I'm driving so's that's all I can do. Some times I'll pull over to type so
Brian D 12:21:34 PM
Just recently found out about the "long press space bar" feature (on phones not PCs). If you long press the space bar it activates the ability to slide the cursor exactly where you want to place it.
G Jax 12:22:28 PM
Auto- complete is programmed by squares maaaaan
G Jax 12:23:37 PM
No way auto- complete is completing MY thought. It's funny to watch it try though..
Roffle 0x7EA 12:24:29 PM
I avoid my phone, but it's nice to know they are stepping up Android. I need to download a clean build, but I don't want to deal with the providers horse shit.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:25:47 PM
@Jax, Sometimes it picks a winner I go with, but seldom. :)
G Jax 12:26:50 PM
I fucking HATE my iPhone. I'm all about Macs for computers and all but I can't stand this phone. Or my last iPhone. Thought this one would be better but was wrong. Droidin' next
Roffle 0x7EA 12:28:25 PM
I also avoid Macs. I hated to old compilers back in the day and never bothered with it. Still don't.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:30:18 PM
Makes pretty pictures though.
Roffle 0x7EA 12:34:05 PM

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:40:01 PM
Brian D, good explanation of "Me and My Uncle"
G Jax 12:46:41 PM
.Bob Weir seemed like a genuinely good dude. At least to me he did. I can't say that for most other celebs when I get a look into their lives away from the spotlight. I'm largely going by the 'The Other One' documentary but even in interviews and whatnot he just comes across as a good guy.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:51:27 PM
Right On G Jax! Good vibe always!

Bobby opened with this the last time I saw him! With wolf brothers at the met, 9/27/2023. Bought a last minute ticket, now forever grateful that I did
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:24:51 PM
Hi Kim, nice to hear from you!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 1:25:42 PM
Incredible Weather Report Suite during that show, which was one of the first Dead songs that I heard and got me on the bus. Specifically the solo acoustic demo with just Bobby, words half written, la-dee-da-ing the melody
Chef Emeril Lagasse 1:26:08 PM
And the encore for that show was Brokedown Palace - a fitting final song to see from him
Lester Wiggs 1:26:17 PM
calyx apparently is in trouble lost some important.

Nice, Chef!

Thank you, Alison. Appreciated. I love this track too
Brian D 1:30:00 PM
5/22/77 from FL a great one yep. From a great tour in Spring 77. That tour has so many highlights. That 7/8/78 set and the bigger July 1978 Complete set has some great sound on it. No doubt due to the famous "Betty Boards" tapes used.
Mok and The Muffins 1:31:37 PM
right around the insane 5/8/77 Barton Hall show. Fertile GD period.
Brian D 1:34:00 PM
Great overlooked Philly Spectrum show from that tour at the end of April too. 4/22/77. First time the east coast got to hear the Scarlet Begonias / Fire on the Mt pairing. (They heard Scarlet alone before). That show has some fiery stuff. Not as well known as the famous May shows to come later. All in all a great tour.
Lester Wiggs 1:35:26 PM
I think I was at that spectrum show. Only time I saw them. Crap seats behind the stage. They apparently played the spectum 50 plus times.
Mok and The Muffins 1:36:06 PM
Dave Lemieux has been releasing a lot of the missing 77 shows. I have been subscribed to Dave's Picks since 2013 lol.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:37:49 PM
Poet laureate Lester Wiggs, the best!
Brian D 1:39:00 PM
I used to get the Dick's Picks cd sets in the 90s yep. Very nicely priced. Very no frills, just CDs, box and one sheet insert. Let the music do the talkin. Sometimes a 3 or 4 CD set was priced under 20 bucks. I would pre order them via mail order right away as soon as I heard about them.
Brian D 1:39:29 PM
Dick Latvala gone way too soon. Had a great ear and a great job. Dave L doing well too in his place.
Mike Constantine 1:40:39 PM
A dream job
Mok and The Muffins 1:41:32 PM
sit around the Dead archive trying to find another awesome show. Yeah i'd give up my day job.

Brian D 1:47:39 PM
Elm Street red light district in the ol Deep Ellum (diff way of sayin Elm) section of Dallas. Wow Levon's mando is way up in the mix. Love it
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:49:22 PM
The video is pure joy. Levon has a s*&t-eating grin throughout the entire video. Every second. The song is pure Americana, I get turned on by this song depicts something that will never change, and everybody's having a good time.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:50:24 PM
According to AI, goes back to the 1930s. Glad we share that Chef!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:50:53 PM
I also love the way they all switch off on vocal and instrumental solos here
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:51:13 PM
Even the horn section!
Mike Constantine 1:52:17 PM
Is that Howard Johnson on tuba?
Brian D 1:53:03 PM
All star cast on that yep. Larry Campbell on gtr used to be in Dylan's band late 90s early 2000s. Great multi instrumentalist. Jim Weider on gtr was the Robbie Robertson fill in when the Band reunited. Love when it gets all Dixieland there
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:53:37 PM
Mike, I don't think so. Brian, who was the tuba?
Chef Emeril Lagasse 1:54:05 PM
Awesome, thanks Jerry! Well put. Is Amy Helm on that version too? She's awesome, I saw and met her at the Sellersville Theater
Brian D 1:54:19 PM
Don't know. Amy Helm (daughter of Levon) on the stage as well.
Chef Emeril Lagasse 1:55:08 PM
@briand jinx you owe me an air fryer
Mok and The Muffins 1:55:47 PM
RIP Bobby. It was a hell of a run. And the music will never stop.
Brian D 1:55:53 PM
Amy is lavender dress on right. We will jinx each other air not fried. Amy did some great stuff w/Larry Campbell good pair there
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:55:55 PM
Chef, I think she is pregnant on stage. Fantastic, the whole video. You would know the musicians and people better than me, you will enjoy.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:56:31 PM

Bobby had a helluva left hand on the frets. Some great chord voicings. Learned a bunch from him and gtr teachers. Helluva right hand too. Pick, back of fingers, front of palm etc. Had a great touch for the rhythm.

Brian D 2:12:06 PM
Yep Wakeman shines on Hunky Dory lp. I think Herbie Flowers was on the freakout bass on Space Oddity. Great session player. He is on every other hit back when.
Mike Constantine 2:12:38 PM

Lester Wiggs 2:15:04 PM
I had no idea Wakeman played on those tracks. wow
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:15:05 PM
It was hard to watch. It was exactly that, he died of a broken heart. He couldn't turn it around.
Mike Constantine 2:15:48 PM
Turning it around it the very hard part
Brian D 2:16:09 PM
Bass parts sound great and loud on the past decade or so Bowie box set campaign thanks to Tony V taking part in the mixing. Man Who Sold the World lp especially. Low sounds great too as do the others in the German trio of lps
Mike Constantine 2:17:06 PM
I'd so love Blu Ray of Low
Brian D 2:18:00 PM
Mick Ronson was such a light. Wow. Great knowledge of music, recording, playing live. Good stuff on him in the book on the Dylan Rolling Thunder tour. Gone way too soon Mick R
Lester Wiggs 2:18:45 PM
I wanted to get an antenna so I wouldn't have to listen online. So I found this amazon review from 2015--
Mike Constantine 2:19:10 PM
Ronson playing Moonage Daydream in the Ziggy movie is insane
Lester Wiggs 2:19:14 PM
This old, wood frame house has a clear view of the Eastern horizon, but the Kittatinny Ridge over in New Jersey prevents any signals reaching me from New York City, 68 miles away. However, if I twist the pole mount on its axis about 20 degrees to the south, I am able to get a clear signal from my favorite public radio station, WHYY-FM, Philadelphia, which has its transmitter located in Roxborough, 67.5 miles from my house. If I rotate it a few degrees more to the East, I get WPRB-FM, Princeton U

Lance Gardner 2:22:05 PM
Hi Jerry, haven't pestered you in a long time......... It's been a great day of music, so thank you to you and Mok for the great music of Bob Weir.
Lester Wiggs 2:22:15 PM
So in the car I listen to WRTI. y'day morning they played Philip Glass who did peices inspired by the three Berlin records of Bowie. So played parts of 'Low'. Maybe it was for Bowies birthday, he didnt say.
Patrick White 2:22:21 PM
WPRB gets knocked off the air often when I travel Roxborough and Manayunk
Lester Wiggs 2:22:39 PM
yess, the towers there kill reception.
Brian D 2:23:02 PM
You can see the Manayunk / Roxb towers from far far away
Mike Constantine 2:23:07 PM
Heh...the antenna farm
Lance Gardner 2:23:08 PM
Bowie stuff is great too.
Lester Wiggs 2:24:02 PM
92.9 is a local radio station that broadcasts from the top of Valley Forge mountain with ...5 yes 5 watts. I can pick it up in Lafayette hill on a clear day. when they're broadcasting.

Thank you, Lance. It is not pestering. You are very much appreciated. Thanks for hanging in there all these years! I hope all is well!

No Ronson on Rebel Rebel. Supposedly David himself on the lead guitar. Love the Diamond Dogs lp. Many headphones listenings on that one for me.

RCA rejecting the first cover due to dog genitilla
Ossy 2:26:35 PM
Jerry - everything's great, thanks to see you too!
Brian D 2:26:40 PM
Love that skronkin guitar tone for Rebel Rebel. Really rockin DB moment. That march stomp drum line is not the usual rock drum part either. Really serves the song well .
Lester Wiggs 2:27:40 PM
I knew Ronson played with Mott- which of course explains a lot, but he played with all kinds of folks. I had no idea!
Brian D 2:27:55 PM
Herbie Flowers on that bass again for Rebel Rebel. R
Mike Constantine 2:28:48 PM
A now gone friend got to hang out at Sigma for these sessions
Brian D 2:28:49 PM
Ronson did Lou's Transformer too. And again... Herbie Flowers on that lp too! Played 2 bass parts on the big Wild Side hit.
Patrick White 2:28:50 PM
I bought at least 15 Bowie lps @ 3Rd street jazz
Patrick White 2:29:52 PM
I remember buying that wigged out alternative cover of Man Who Sold the World. Oh by Jingo
Mike Constantine 2:30:40 PM
Joe Tarsia was a very cool guy
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:30:48 PM
I thank you, Patrick, for putting my kids thru college. I remember your various outfits as you paralleled Bowie's current fashion including the glam era
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:31:26 PM
Mike, that's interesting, what a lucky friend you had
Brian D 2:31:26 PM
Went out and grabbed a handful of the then-discounted 70s Bowie lps in the early 80s at the mall (Listening Booth and Wall to Wall Sound). The big orange sticker. Probably $4.99 or so for the older lps. I think I bought Hunky Dory, Diamond Dogs and Heroes all in one stop. Friend got me into him at the time. Let's Dance just came out or was just about to. Great time for Bowie mania all over again.
Mike Constantine 2:32:08 PM
I remember Patrick trying to sue 3rd because he tripped on his platform shoes
Patrick White 2:32:15 PM
I was David’s alter ego The Fat White Duke
Lester Wiggs 2:32:22 PM
wow, pretty cool Mike.
Brian D 2:32:43 PM
The Man Who Sold The World lp available at the mall stores at that time was the black n white pic version. Then way later on I learned about the alternate covers. Several of them for Man Who....
Lester Wiggs 2:32:49 PM
Could you please clarify what you mean by 'Wigged out'?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:32:51 PM
We are now in the "bicentennial" era which killed Third St. sales until it was over.
Brian D 2:33:54 PM
Young Luther Vandross on this Bowie Philly Soul era lp
G Jax 2:33:59 PM
Love Ronson's production put he totally nicked the ending from 'Bridge Over Trouble Waters' for the end of 'Life On Mars'. Coincidentally my favorite S&G AND Bowie tunes.
Lester Wiggs 2:34:05 PM
But The Shirt Corner is still there? right? RIGHT?

Michael Britton 2:48:45 PM
Best Bowie concert I ever saw was at the Electric Factory. Funny story my friend had Saturday nights tix and it was Friday, the folks behind wanted them so we traded lol
Brian D 2:49:05 PM
Ouch Low and Lodger and Scary Monsters getting passed over... whiplash neck shot into the 80s
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:49:11 PM
Don't recall, I was there from 1972-1989.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:49:46 PM

PS nothing against repubs or anyone else, but Philly Politics has been a swamp since William Penn left town. So Richrdson Dilworth was a reformer. Not sure whats happened since.
Mike Constantine 2:50:37 PM
Right Brian....It's No Game might be my fav Bowie
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:50:52 PM

Since I live near Valley Forge, I have been geeking out on R War history. There's a church there on Church road just off Ridge. Was Lafayette's HQ for a bit, before they all crossed the river, for the designated Winter Quarters at VF.
