i especially loved jack off jill
DJ Rat Princess (host) 3:52:41 PM
they r such an awesome band I love them
Richard of Rocky Hill 3:55:35 PM
@ DJ Rat Princess (host) I remember news articles out of Britain from when I was a kid about the "teddy boys." They were kind of like America's "greasers" of the same era, a colorful lot with long, slicked-back Elvis-style hair, leather jackets and blue jeans, and also something of a bad reputation (at least for some of them) of being trouble makers who ran around in quasi-gangs.
DJ Rat Princess (host) 3:58:08 PM
yes exactly Richard of rocky hill! it was quite a phenomena back in the day I think the modern hedi boy is an evolved version of that
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:00:02 PM
omg i just found an article: https://underground-england.com/from-teddy-boy-to-hedi-boy-the-shoe-with-a-point/
Richard of Rocky Hill 4:03:06 PM
I think you're right. Later in the mid- to late-1960s, when the Beatles and other British bands adopted the more fashionable "modern" looks by designers in Carnaby Street, London (collarless suit jackets and matching tight slacks, with super-colorful, paisley-pattern shirts) they were called "mods". The teddy boys were known as "rockers," and there was lots in the UK press about "mods vs. rockers."
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:07:48 PM
That's a great point Richard! Kind of reminds me of the Emo vs. Punks in Mexico 2008
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:09:10 PM
then the Beatles went on to open the apple boutique which cemented more of their personal status in london fashion. maryleborne was a major place of Beatles history!
Richard of Rocky Hill 4:17:16 PM
Exactly right about the Apple boutique!
Richard of Rocky Hill 4:19:55 PM
In one of the Beatles movies ~ I think it was "A Hard Day's Night" ~ an older person sees Ringo or maybe the whole band, and mutters contemptuously, "Mods and rockers!"
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:21:53 PM
omg I love that film and I didn't even notice!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:22:24 PM
I wish I could have been there to see the apple boutique while it was still open. I heard there might still be some existing pieces at FIT?
Lester Wiggs 4:55:51 PM
Pointy shoes. That article on sartorial fashion- So the 'upper' classes like pointy shoes. Why am I not surprised. Much more effective to get the roached who have retreated to the corners of the room.
Lester Wiggs 4:58:15 PM
I am not sure that 'Hard Day's Night did so well in the box office. I did love 'Yellow Submarine, saw it in a movie theater in West Chester PA, C 1968? The flip side of the record is quite good. Has the orchestral pieces. Written by the producer, pretty sure.
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:58:41 PM
oh my haha lester that's an interesting way to put it!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:59:32 PM
I first watched a hard day's night on tcm I believe, but I do think the yellow submarine film is more known widespread and it has incredible visuals
DJ Rat Princess (host) 4:59:40 PM
so cool you got to see it in theaters!
Lester Wiggs 5:03:59 PM
Its at the edge of my consciousness. This was something that happened nearly 60 years ago. For some reason my mother- who is 90 now- had bought Sgt Pepper for him. (My father) I should find out where that theater was. I drive through WC Pa often. On certain streets I feel the vibe- That Theater was right here. But never quite sure.
Lester Wiggs 5:06:00 PM
PS I'll be 64 in a couple of weeks!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:11:15 PM
congrats lester! happy almost bday!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:11:58 PM
and that's amazing! a local theater can be so well ingrained in one's brain
Richard of Rocky Hill 5:18:26 PM
@ Lester Wiggs Actually, "A Hard Day's Night" did very well at the box office. including in the USA. Even the very conservative New York Daily News gave it a full 4-star review.
Lester Wiggs 5:20:20 PM
I stand corrected.
TAndy 5:21:05 PM
Hey hey!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:21:17 PM
thx for the info richard! I had no idea
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:21:28 PM
hi TAndy!
Lester Wiggs 5:29:46 PM
Links to Rockefeller Foundation funding, British intelligence (MI6), Freud/Jung psychoanalysis as tools for control, and global elites engineering societal breakdown ("social turbulence") to enable authoritarianism. Turn it Up!!!!
Richard of Rocky Hill 5:32:42 PM
My "Hard Day's Night" moment ... when George Harrison goes walking around the suites in the building above the theater/TV studio where the Beatles are rehearsing, and he wanders into the office of a teenage/pop culture consultant-expert. The walls are filled with charts and graphs to calculate when the next big teen trend is coming. It quickly becomes deliciously obvious that this supposed pop culture not only doesn't recognize Harrison ~ he doesn't even know the Beatles exist!!!
Richard of Rocky Hill 5:34:35 PM
More than 60 years later, and this satire of pontificating consultants is even more on target than ever!!! :-D
Lester Wiggs 5:37:32 PM
I remember listening to 'Wolfman Jack' years ago. He was asking listeners 'Who is Your 'Favourite Beatle'. I loved George's left handed sitar.
Richard of Rocky Hill 5:41:53 PM
"Clap for the Wolfman/ He's gonna rate your record high!/ Clap for the Wolfman/ You gonna dig him 'til the day you die ..."
Lester Wiggs 5:42:36 PM
tru
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:44:07 PM
yes I remember that scene in the film Richard! and I agree about your consultant note haha
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:44:42 PM
george is awesomeeeee
Lester Wiggs 5:44:53 PM
I oddly came across a 20.KW transmitter. Those radio RF people are smart, but also a lot smarter than I am.

Lester Wiggs 5:46:43 PM
How about George on the set,

Good afternoon
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:49:03 PM
good afternoon rob!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:49:06 PM
which set lester?
Lester Wiggs 5:49:12 PM
When Madonna - at the height of her career- has a falling out with Sean Penn? But anyway- George Harrison- the produces says, Have you never had a falling out with your wife/husband. No Never. I am on a ship in the southern pacific. I know nothing of what you speak of.
Lester Wiggs 5:51:05 PM
George Harrison. Producer. They have words. Executive Director. Showrunner. The Wizard of Odd
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:51:55 PM
this reminds me of the line in a hard days night that goes something like how do you find America and john says turn left at Greenland
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:52:00 PM
ooooo I gotta check that out lester!
Lester Wiggs 5:52:03 PM
Birds incoming.
Andy Wing 5:52:56 PM
Been listening in offline, that awesome "Long ago Gardens" track was either epically strange or strangely epic. As if Mike Oldfield and David Bowie collaborated on a death metal song maybe?
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:54:56 PM
Birds aren't real
michael gudgeon 5:55:46 PM
sheeit missed djrp! bless up
Lester Wiggs 5:56:06 PM
Horses aren't real either.
Lester Wiggs 5:56:14 PM
There is no evidence that Mike Oldfield and David Bowie collaborated on a death metal song.
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:59:00 PM
@Andy thank you so much! that's an awesome description of the track glad u liked it!
DJ Rat Princess (host) 5:59:13 PM
hi Michael! bless up
Richard of Rocky Hill 5:59:58 PM
@ DJ Rat Princess (host) Groovy fab gear show!!! :-D
Lester Wiggs 6:00:22 PM
Is this the social media I have been hearing about?
DJ Rat Princess (host) 6:00:22 PM
