Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:05:44 PM
Wow!
Mike Constantine 12:05:55 PM

Hibernal Roffle 12:09:30 PM
"If it gets too deep it gives me a headache". -Exactly!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:10:18 PM
Christine is the greatest and I applaud her.
Lester Wiggs 12:11:53 PM
Always concerned I may miss the Main Theme Song
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:11:55 PM
Rofl, yet this is the "deepest" chat room and most informed one on the internet. And the nicest.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:12:40 PM
Hi Lester, you've become quite a contributor, thank you. You've said some profound things lately!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:13:31 PM
Everyone here makes huge contributions to our society, they keep it on track.
Hibernal Roffle 12:13:38 PM
It is indeed polite and smart here by any internet standard ruler.
Mike Constantine 12:14:23 PM
Yep...no keyboard warriors here
Hibernal Roffle 12:15:22 PM
Minimal politicking too. That is just room to breathe these days.
Lester Wiggs 12:15:46 PM
I did not come here to say this, but thanks Jerry.
Brian D 12:16:05 PM
Happy old year
Lester Wiggs 12:16:23 PM
Keyboard Warrior. My Army of Baritone Saxes are ready.
Hibernal Roffle 12:16:25 PM
So current Brian!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:16:37 PM
And there's Brian!!!
rick hallahan 12:17:43 PM
This is one of my fav Horace Silver compositions - and this arrangement is just so good.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:17:52 PM
Politics kills any gathering, I'm sure we have divergent opinions here but we all are friends. It would suck otherwise.
Mike Constantine 12:18:49 PM
Mother said don't discuss politics or religion at a party
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:18:59 PM
Right on, Rick. What a great positive hip vibe this track has.
Hibernal Roffle 12:19:30 PM
Torpedoed many a Thanksgiving dinner.lol
Lester Wiggs 12:20:27 PM
Jerry, you are man after my own heart. But, should we go into fierce battle, and you win, please season it with at least a little salt and turmeric.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:20:37 PM
My father wouldn't let me put a Eugene McCarthy for President sticker on his Oldsmobile Delmont 88 because he drove it to work everyday and didn't want to alienate customers. He shut me right down.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:21:06 PM
Tumeric destroys my stomach
Lester Wiggs 12:21:28 PM
OK. I'm safe then
Mike Constantine 12:21:53 PM
Heh...the one thing my Father and I agreed on was politics.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:22:18 PM
That's a really nice thing, Mike.
Lester Wiggs 12:22:25 PM
For the 1967 model year, the Delmont 88 came standard with a 330-cubic-inch (5.4 L) V8 engine, producing 250 horsepower, with the option of a more powerful 425-cubic-inch (7.0 L) V8 that delivered 300 horsepower.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:24:51 PM
He had the standard engine and it was a quick car. He gave it to me after a couple of years, he liked to change cars every 2-3 years. Great car. He drove Buicks and Oldsmobiles, my gother got Chevy's only.
Hibernal Roffle 12:25:01 PM
They don't make delivery devices like that anymore.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:26:34 PM
My mother had a copper 57 Chevy Belair which my sister wrapped around a telephone pole within 6 months.
Lester Wiggs 12:26:36 PM
Not really appropriate for a public chat, but I would love to know more about your father. Maybe a few cherished memories?
Lester Wiggs 12:26:55 PM
salvage
Hibernal Roffle 12:27:32 PM
My aunt had a massive Buick you could drive into battle with.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:27:57 PM
My father his brother, his uncle, his father were all in the wallpaper and paint business, retailing to the people.
Mike Constantine 12:28:16 PM
I know that copper color well. Our 5 Nomad wagon was copper and white
Mike Constantine 12:28:24 PM
59
Stewart S 12:28:42 PM
Happy Cuckoo Day. Looking forward to Jerry's Room.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:28:51 PM
Nomads today worth a fortune!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:29:14 PM
Hi Stewart S, you will like it. Thanks for being here!
Mike Constantine 12:29:16 PM
Sure are
Hibernal Roffle 12:29:49 PM
I remember a friend of mine's dad had a Rambler that color. A fine automobile ahead of it's time.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:30:36 PM
I am following a Canadian woman's restoration of a Nomad on Facebook.
Hibernal Roffle 12:30:52 PM
Could have just been actually rusty though
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:31:13 PM
Those fifties Buicks were DELUXE!
Lester Wiggs 12:32:23 PM
Business folks. As an aside, Gifford Pinchot, a Pennsylvania governor, was born on August 11, 1865, in Simsbury, Connecticut, to James W. Pinchot, a successful New York City wallpaper merchant, and Mary Eno, daughter of one of New York City's wealthiest real estate developers, Amos Eno Brian Eno did wallpaer at an airport, if I am not mistaken.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:32:43 PM
We had an aquamarine 56 Roadmaster.
Lester Wiggs 12:33:10 PM
Teal or go home
Mike Constantine 12:33:37 PM
Great color combos back there in the Fifties
Adam Elk 12:35:34 PM
Nice show ... Don Was !
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:36:14 PM
Ha!I just looked at a teal color chart. Half of the walls in my house are painted the same color as that Buick
Hibernal Roffle 12:36:20 PM
@jerry, Oh yeah, they did deluxe well on that side of the family, my uncle had a 1966 Buick Riviera Hardtop with Cherry Bomb straight pipes that made the house rumble when he pulled into the garage. He was an engineer and loved to tinker with EVERYTHING.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:37:12 PM
Hi Adam, thanks. That Don Was track was hot, wasn't it?
Adam Elk 12:38:41 PM
I worked with Don Was on a Geffen LP back in 97' ... Nicest guy ever !
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:38:50 PM
We never had a car as hot as a Riviera, or an Imperial just for stylin'
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:41:45 PM
Which album, Adam, and what do you play/do?
Mike Constantine 12:42:03 PM
My father never owned a car with a V8
Hibernal Roffle 12:43:07 PM
I've only owned one, and it came with a pickup truck.
Adam Elk 12:43:13 PM
I wish it was jazz , but its a pop record. I played Guitar and Sang . he produced 2 Lps in 97... Rolling Stones and this LP
Adam Elk 12:43:15 PM
https://mommyheads.bandcamp.com/album/the-mommyheads
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:43:19 PM
They were way expensive and could be viewed as unnecessary. Not everyone is a maniac like you with rotary engines.
rick hallahan 12:43:35 PM
I'm diggin' the flute artistry on this mesmerizing version of "Infant Eyes".
Hibernal Roffle 12:45:41 PM
Some pop music has some of the best musicians. Working for scale!
Adam Elk 12:46:33 PM
We did get to bring in Tower of Power on a song on that LP... That was awesome!
rick hallahan 12:47:31 PM
Tower of Power is THE best!
Hibernal Roffle 12:48:20 PM
That's the real payoff.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 12:48:59 PM
Dhafer Youssef is Tunisian, I believe.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 12:49:34 PM

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:52:07 PM
Hit up Portugal while you're there.
Hibernal Roffle 12:52:29 PM
I am not going anywhere with my USA passport at the moment, but yeah, Spain!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:52:33 PM
Or am I thinking Morocco?
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 12:52:46 PM

Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 12:53:16 PM
That's fantastic, @Roffle
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:54:29 PM
Morocco is under Spain and Portugal and then you hang a left to go to Tunisia
Hibernal Roffle 12:55:18 PM
My map still says left at Albuquerque
rick hallahan 12:56:16 PM
Don't forget that when you get to the Schlossen cutoff to cut off your schlossen.

Hibernal Roffle 1:43:38 PM
NPR sent me an email today, "A stronger, fitter you in 2026" promoting exercise. Still trying to figure out why.
Christine 𓅊 𓃕 𓃹 1:45:57 PM
@Roffle, lol
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:46:23 PM
They bought your name from Facebook, from the time you looked at an ad for arthritis prevention.
Hibernal Roffle 1:49:39 PM
To be honest, I volunteered my email for their newsletter being a fan Tiny Desk of course, but this crosses a line I think, but it's 2025 and anything goes.
Lester Wiggs 1:49:49 PM
I only just found out that the TV is spying on me. They forgot that I wanted to share my vision of the world, where Jerry is broadcast across planet Earth.
