I saw atom at a Chinese restaurant in the suburbs a couple of months ago. I definitely did that "you look familiar" stare but I didn't put it together til after I left.

So as far as I can tell, Jingle Rock Bell is a product of someone who was on Metafilter. https://music.metafilter.com/2881/Jingle-Rock-Bell#38972 Metafilter is still out there, 25+ years after it's creation, and we still have a small but active contingent of posters and commenters. I've been posting the marathon there for the past 3 or 4 years.

We often have two or more places to go on Christmas Eve, and I find I attach different stories and songs to those places. We used to hear this going to hear my mother-in-law sing in the midnight mass after another party.

I’m already working on the idea for next year’s song. Also inspired by real life events. Differently tragic than losing my job. This one is a cautionary tale about ordering Chinese food on Christmas in Pittsburgh and not listening to your daughter who said to get your Chinese food from Squirrel Hill, not Lawrenceville. Daughters are right sometimes.
