Hey Jerry, Mike & Rick 👋
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:03:30 PM
Hi Christine, welcome. Two hours of focus on percussion
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:03:44 PM
Joe Henderson is a monster
Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:04:22 PM
Mike, raking is a scam. We should all collectively quit that job and leave the leaves. Otherwise we won't have fireflies next summer.
Kerroffle 12:05:14 PM
Leave the leaves!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:05:15 PM
Wut? The theme song already?
Kerroffle 12:05:24 PM
Hi!
rick hallahan 12:05:26 PM
I'll be happy to forego my shot of B-3 to give Christine some serious percussion.
Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:06:03 PM
(Luna moths, bumblebees, swallowtail butterflues, etc.)
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:06:04 PM
Kerroffle hasn't raked leaves in over 40 years in order to protect the tiny critters.
Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:06:28 PM
And there's that theme song again! 🎶 🐦
Mike Constantine 12:07:23 PM
I have a field behind the house and all the leaves go there....I've never bagged them.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:07:47 PM
It's an insect farm!
Kerroffle 12:08:06 PM
Ha! You are so right Jerry, not my kinda gig.

Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:09:11 PM
@Jerry, do you have those shield bugs, aka stink bugs?
Kerroffle 12:09:56 PM
Most bugs are little stinkers.
Chef Emeril Lagasse (MONTHLY DOUGH-NOR) 12:10:06 PM
BAM to that little bird over there!
Stephen Higgins 12:11:21 PM
Hi Guys!
Patrick White (1) 12:11:30 PM

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:22:54 PM

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:24:06 PM
Thank you very much, Chef. You power WPRB with your energy and your $$$ along with all of you
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:25:07 PM
Patrick, where exactly in the park, did I see this show. I was vending ice cold cokes at the time.
Brian D 12:27:16 PM

Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:28:20 PM
LOL @Brian D
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:28:59 PM
Hi Brian! You got it. My call was: "Yo Ice Cold!"
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:29:32 PM
I still have my apron.
rick hallahan 12:31:20 PM
Jerry, I bet you were as popular a vendor as the "Doggie yo-ho" guy at Connie Mack Stadium.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:35:50 PM
Thanks, but nah, after I sold my first load or two of cokes I watched the event. I was a vendor at Eagles games and Army Navy games also.
Brian D 12:36:15 PM
Love all the Forest Flower versions I've heard. Chico Hamilton "Man from Two Worlds" has a great take on it as well
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:38:39 PM
You always know your stuff, Brian
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:42:09 PM
Rick, all classic jazz today, perfect time to not rake the leaves!
Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 12:43:29 PM
✨️this percussion ✨️
rick hallahan 12:43:37 PM
Yes! Actually, I had my trees pruned yesterday and the workers - unbeknownst to me - also raked all my leaves. I'm living large!
Anthony B. Creamer III 12:43:53 PM
February 1978 I attended the second set at the Main Point. Jack De Johnette's New Directions with John Abercrombie and Lester Bowie. The bassist was George Mraz, not Eddie Gomez. I don't think there were more than 25 people in the audience. And it was one of the best concerts I've ever experienced.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:44:02 PM
Haha, Christine. Bill Evans really let him stretch out!
Anthony B. Creamer III 12:44:30 PM
One of Jack's last recording dates was with Ethan Iverson on his Blue Note debut, Every Note Is True.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:45:16 PM
Wowowowowow! Thanks, Anthony. What a show at the Main Point that must have been!
Anthony B. Creamer III 12:45:30 PM
Hi Jerry. Sadly, gotta jump. Wish there was a replay option.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:45:55 PM
Thanks for listening
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:49:09 PM
Anthony Creamer, who just left the chat, has probably seen more shows than any other person on earth.
Russell Woessner 12:51:37 PM
Not the Fairmount Park concert but another by Lloyd in Philadelphia around the same time: https://www.concertarchives.org/image_uploads/photo/image/478975/large_The_Philadelphia_Inquirer_Wed__Apr_17__1968_.jpg
Richard Mitnick 12:55:02 PM
Good morning Jerry. I am looking for some help. Last Saturday night i was up late and discovered a very good Jazz program around midnight. I think the hosts name is Turshu. I wrote to the station manager and I have already asked Dan Buskirk and Marvin Roden for help. I would like to see her time slot moved earlier. This would be good for her, giving her a wider audience. It would also help the station which has lost two great Jazz programs, the Sunday morning program and the loss of Will.
Richard Mitnick 12:56:41 PM
If she is amenable to the move i enlist your support with the station to get her on earlier any day of the week. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm diggin' this interpretation of Uncle Albert. Complete with strings!
Mike Constantine 1:20:26 PM
Probably Paul's most Beatley songs post Beatles
Kerroffle 1:23:07 PM
@Mike _and_ it was epic AF for a top 40.
Mike Constantine 1:23:36 PM
Yes it was!

Right on, Kerroffling out loud
Kerroffle 1:29:21 PM
Playing the hits! lol
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:38:16 PM
Rofl, my parents took one vacation a year. They would go to Miami Beach and stay at the hotel where they stayed on their honeymoon. Eventually they started taking me; my favorite thing was there was an ice cream shoppe near the hotel that had a banana split called "The Kitchen Sink". I still think about it.
Rob F 1:39:41 PM

Greetings friends - In college there were these really cool jazz kids who were into Jack DeJohnette - Especially the Timeless record. It was an interesting period being exposed to that around the same time as I saw the Ramones. I am not sure which kids were cooler - the jazz or the punk kids

I've always found it impossible to log in with Google. I thought only Facebook account holders are able to chat here.
Kerroffle 2:15:20 PM
That's what FB wants you to think.
Brian D 2:15:43 PM
Only ever logged in w Google. Sometimes it takes 2 clicks / 2 tries but not always
Christine, Pledger Allegiance 💸 2:16:18 PM
I log into the chat with Google also.
Kerroffle 2:16:27 PM
Mine wanted 2 part ID here the other day!
Mike Constantine 2:16:37 PM
Facebook usually takes 2 clicks for me
Kerroffle 2:17:20 PM
2 clicks every refresh is standard for me.
rick hallahan 2:17:31 PM
As a person in Facebook prison, I always log in with Google.
Kerroffle 2:18:27 PM
I have a FB account laying around somewhere. Big pain in the ass though.
Brian D 2:18:40 PM
And I've always used the spinitron.com/wprb url to log into / view the chat. Had it bookmarked since 2020 and it is the most viewable site for me. Going through the station's website to get to chat always gives me cut off pages etc
David Shortell 2:19:11 PM
My efforts with Google always get "Validation errors: Please contact us if you think this is a server error." Then it doesn't allow me a second click.
David Shortell 2:20:50 PM
Peter Noone played a free show in Holmdel two months ago.

Mike Constantine 2:29:25 PM
That series they had, Live from Sigma Sound was so good
Brian D 2:31:47 PM
Then I had a live tape of her from 1988 or so and she gets a request for Let Me Be Your Blender and she politely declined w regrets. Said she had not done it in years and back when she started getting booked as "Bonnie Blender"
Mike Constantine 2:33:00 PM
Right! she wanted nothing to do with it
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:37:50 PM
I told the story many times. I wanted an artist on my label to record it, but beause there was no official release, it required the permission of the writer. She respectfully declined.
Kerroffle 2:37:50 PM
She was on the 1st SNL, which I rewatched a couple of months ago.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:38:15 PM
Who, Mr. Kerroffle? Bonnie Raitt?
