would drive to florida with fam from jersey, to daytone once a summer for a couple weeks, we would do it in 14 hours usually

sometimes we would stay overnight at south of the borida

13 hr 56 min (894 miles) according to Google.

google says its a 16 hour trip id be shocked if we ever hit in to the 15's

like my adress from where i grew up lmao

Daytona to Philly would be a two day trip for me, maybe 3 if I were driving solo

Yeah, two days is sane.

sup rob! we used to do straight through's when i was a kid, and have had some cross country driving done myself as an adult. i think i went from my hometown to scottsdale in like 4 days in 2022, 1 shotted main once, and did a lot of traveling in the midwest sightseeing national parks in 2017

but that's it for me if its up to me, im not really afraid to fly anymore as my last two endeavors have been cali and FL and after driving to p much cali im much more content with the 5 hour flight lmao

About 20 years ago my wife and I drove from Miami back to DC. We stopped in Florence SC the first night after maybe 11 hours (including stops)

That was rough

i feel like DC was the biggest like contributor to the times we left for our florida trips

The second day it only took 7.5 hours

always trying to beat dc traffic

*and we were home

michael, ha, I think we drove through DC to get to our inner Maryland suburg

I dove a long haul truck for a while. That's a day trip for me.

michael, you can't beat DC traffic ... unless you go from Wilmington to Annapolis to US 301 and across the Potomac to join I 95 north of Richmond

I had a Toyota Supra in the 80's that was plenty fast, but the belt traffic was 80mph and the speed limit was 55. I bet it's even worse now.

I'm a DC area native so I am totally used to all the f-ed up traffic on the beltway

I totally get scared there.

my grandfather would take me to dc when i was a kid to go to marine corps like shows ( late 90's early 2000s)

Roffle, there are cars that zoom by at 80 but most cars go 65 to 70. The speed limit is still 55 on the beltway

I was playing a local radio station in DC and they were playing Death Metal and my girlfriend said I had to turn it of because that was the last thing she wanted to here during a horrible accident waiting for the EMT crew..

oh yes my first bouts much younger, but even as a teenager i'd say so yes!. and ya roffle im pretty indiferent on Florida, weather wise has been much nicer since i got back in september, compared to march through august while i was here.

i don't get to experience much im pretty much house locked for the most part. But yeah the weather was unbearable and then i went home for a month in august and it felt cool, and then when i got back in september it's very nice i'd say

My dream setup is Austin in the winter and Seattle in the summer. I've lived in these places and been around the country. I know. That's my lotto tickit dream.
