and i know nothing about solaris but i've heard its epic and i'm excited to watch!!!

Oh. It's Stanislaw. He wrote the story Solaris. I read one of his books "The Futurological Congress" as a teen. It definitely affected me. He was pretty prolific. One of his books, "A Perfect Vacuum" consists of short reviews of books he never wrote. I think of him a little like the Eastern European Carl Sandberg.

that's so interesting! i'll definitely have to read up on his work going into the film. didn't realize how influential he was but i'm doing some research now
