Actually Jerry I only thought I was retired. The USPS still has me listed as active. They gave me employee of the month last August and I never left my house.

BTW - WPRB in general this week has been awesome to listen to - every time - I even listened to some metal for a bit. It really is the only radio station in New Jersey

@Jerry wrt Will Constantine Jr/II, how very cool! I haven't been to Cape May since 2009 which was in December for an Ivory Gull (extremely rare this far south). I/we used to go in autumn at least once a year but that was before (I knew of) the jazz festival

At the end of the 90s I produced The Intergalactic Jewish Music festival - It ran for 5 years presenting new ideas in Jewish Music - It was a lofty time hanging with the World class players like John Zorn, the Klezmatics, Brave Old World, and others. We did shows at The International House, Painted Bride, The Middle East Restaurant (Joey Tayoun produced)

Jerry, it just doesn't get much better than this. Muchos gracias for the "new" Klezmer music!

WXPN had an Irish show every week. I tried to convince them to let me host a Jewish music show. It was shot down so quickly and I was told the Irish show had been 'grandfathered' in. My brother did a Jewish show on the Boston Public Radio station on Sunday Mornings and it was one of their top shows... Philly wasn't into it.

But alas, I never met a woman who could (or would) make it for me.

Good Yom Tov late acknowledge... Love hearing that Grisman / Statman collab. Just saw David's son Sam(son) Grisman and his great band at an outdoor fest on the Chesapeake Bay a few weeks back. Carrying on the tradition. Sam chose the larger instrument (stand up bass) as opposed to his dad who of course chose the highly portable mandolin.

Jerry - Was in a campus transfer students visit via rowan and indeed was adventuring around there! Not my first time there though lol

I first heard You Don't Know Me in the 80s via the Mickey Gilley cover on mom's Country radio station. Pretty good take on it. Back when the Country stars did standards, Soul, pop etc from the earlier eras
