Hey David! I saw them once a the unitarian church in philly. It was when MES broke his hip and he sat a table the entire performance.

That had to be 2007 or 8... I'll have to double check.

No it was earlier than that because my good buddy Kevin aka my Fall sherpa and I were working at a video store on 20th street and closed the store early to see the show

so maybe more like 05 or 06

Where and when were your three times?

My first time was at the Grand (formerly the Cat Club, with a bullet hole in its window). I neglected to buy a ticket in advance and discovered the show had sold out. I waited in the long line anyway, hoping for a miracle. Two Englishmen in front of me had extra passes, and gave me and some Austrian woman free admission.

Later Marc Bolan. Oh what could've been.,.

What year was that first show?

The Fall’s show at the Grand was sometime in the 90s. I saw them for the 2nd time at Coney Island High (on St. Mark’s Place, not Coney Island) in 1998. I wondered why Mark had a black eye. I later heard about the donnybrook that occurred at Brownies shortly before.

Dandy in the Underworld was one of my late dog Rex's many nicknames

Much more often he was called 'Lonely Planet Boy'. Best dog ever. And ALL dogs are great.

Sadly, I can't get in my home in south philly. Gotta stream it. But it's bumping in the car.

I can't get the car in the house without creating serious structural issues, so this will have to do for now.

Jon I was just at a community meeting yesterday and a guy who used to work for L&I told a story about having to get a car towed from inside a house.

The night I saw the Fall at Tribeca’s Knitting Factory in 2005 was the hottest I ever experienced in NYC. It felt over 90° outside, and the A/C was weak. I remember Mark came out wearing a tie and jacket, which he eventually took off as he sweated though his performance. But when he returned to the stage for an encore, he had put on a sweater!

I saw Ut at Maxwell's. It had to be in November of 1988, because the headliners Volcano Suns were griping about George H.W. Bush's election victory.

I heard MES dunked on Robert Pollard, 2/3 of the Beastie Boys and Elliot Smith.

Hello! David mentioned the Cat Club. I saw the Toasters there back in the 80's. Matt Dillion was at the show. He came in, picked up a girl and left. Came back, picked up another girl, left and never returned. He was wearing a Rude Boy kit which was cool.

Interestingly, enough. He got free tickets to The Who tonight and he gave us that too. This dude is never giving us anything the whole time that I've known him. And he's like giving us free shit all the time now. I hope he's like not on his way out or something. He looks pretty healthy though.

I found out too late that yesterday's Association/Peter Noone concert at the Garden State Arts Center was FREE! I'll be sure to attend next month's free Rascals/Gary Lewis there though.

I'd go see Peter Noone for free. In fact, I HAVE seen him for free. In Camden County at Cooper River 8 years or so ago. Very entertaining

And this summer has been free concert summer for me. Whether someone giving me tickets or the county putting on shows. Two of em I would have paid for..Al DiMeola and especially Stanley Clarke. I saw Bob Mould for free too. Can I get money back for seeing a free concert? Dreadful. And I love Husker Du and his solo stuff but man he was awful
