good morning you filthy animules!
jimbooooo 10:05:15 AM
the FILTHIEST
Pat (host) 10:05:56 AM
how goes jimbooooo!
David Shortell 10:07:33 AM
I've seen the Fall three times, Pat. How about you?
Pat (host) 10:08:35 AM
Hey David! I saw them once a the unitarian church in philly. It was when MES broke his hip and he sat a table the entire performance.
Pat (host) 10:09:06 AM
That had to be 2007 or 8... I'll have to double check.
Pat (host) 10:09:50 AM
No it was earlier than that because my good buddy Kevin aka my Fall sherpa and I were working at a video store on 20th street and closed the store early to see the show
Pat (host) 10:10:23 AM
so maybe more like 05 or 06
Pat (host) 10:10:35 AM
Where and when were your three times?
David Shortell 10:14:36 AM
My first time was at the Grand (formerly the Cat Club, with a bullet hole in its window). I neglected to buy a ticket in advance and discovered the show had sold out. I waited in the long line anyway, hoping for a miracle. Two Englishmen in front of me had extra passes, and gave me and some Austrian woman free admission.
G Jax 10:17:29 AM
Later Marc Bolan. Oh what could've been.,.
Pat (host) 10:17:35 AM
What year was that first show?
Pat (host) 10:18:13 AM
So true G Jax. Gone too soon!
G Jax 10:18:42 AM
Probably woulda had a huge resurgence in the hair band 80's
Christine 𓅓 10:20:09 AM
🖤🖤🖤
Pat (host) 10:20:10 AM
Next level androgony form Bolan for sure!
Pat (host) 10:20:21 AM
Hi Christine!
Christine 𓅓 10:20:26 AM
This is a tonic!
hollaartyourboy 10:21:04 AM
yoo this cover is wild. love it
Christine 𓅓 10:21:15 AM
Hi Pat! Loving the Clamour already today 😊
G Jax 10:22:52 AM
Clamour Club. New show? New to me anyway. Digging it so far for sho..
David Shortell 10:23:45 AM
The Fall’s show at the Grand was sometime in the 90s. I saw them for the 2nd time at Coney Island High (on St. Mark’s Place, not Coney Island) in 1998. I wondered why Mark had a black eye. I later heard about the donnybrook that occurred at Brownies shortly before.
G Jax 10:25:51 AM
Dandy in the Underworld was one of my late dog Rex's many nicknames
G Jax 10:27:24 AM
Much more often he was called 'Lonely Planet Boy'. Best dog ever. And ALL dogs are great.
Christine 𓅓 10:27:29 AM
Great anecdote, @David
Pat (host) 10:29:22 AM
That's great David. Did you always see them in New York?
Pat (host) 10:31:06 AM
Local faves Eraser!!!! Still have to see them live.
Jon Solomon 10:32:22 AM
I'm listening to Clamour Club on the radio!
Pat (host) 10:33:02 AM
Jon, that, honestly, is a great place to listen to it!
G Jax 10:34:08 AM
Best on the car radio
Pat (host) 10:34:49 AM
Sadly, I can't get in my home in south philly. Gotta stream it. But it's bumping in the car.
Jon Solomon 10:34:50 AM
I can't get the car in the house without creating serious structural issues, so this will have to do for now.
Pat (host) 10:35:48 AM
Jon I was just at a community meeting yesterday and a guy who used to work for L&I told a story about having to get a car towed from inside a house.
David Shortell 10:36:00 AM
The night I saw the Fall at Tribeca’s Knitting Factory in 2005 was the hottest I ever experienced in NYC. It felt over 90° outside, and the A/C was weak. I remember Mark came out wearing a tie and jacket, which he eventually took off as he sweated though his performance. But when he returned to the stage for an encore, he had put on a sweater!
Pat (host) 10:36:55 AM
I mean MES can't pass up a jumper.
Pat (host) 10:37:55 AM
crank that bass people!!!!
David Shortell 10:39:36 AM
I saw Ut at Maxwell's. It had to be in November of 1988, because the headliners Volcano Suns were griping about George H.W. Bush's election victory.
Pat (host) 10:41:05 AM
ooh and Ut and Volcano Suns, stacked bill!
Jon Solomon 10:42:55 AM
"MES can't pass up a jumper" made me imagine him playing basketball. Bet he had a decent midrange game.
Pat (host) 10:44:08 AM
I heard MES dunked on Robert Pollard, 2/3 of the Beastie Boys and Elliot Smith.
Christine 𓅓 10:47:17 AM
I would like to imagine MES knitting jumpers at home during periods of introspection, with a cup of tea and a biscuit. 🧶
Pat (host) 10:48:57 AM
MES would've been the cattiest gossip in the knitting circle for sure
Marcus Haupt 10:51:53 AM
Hello! David mentioned the Cat Club. I saw the Toasters there back in the 80's. Matt Dillion was at the show. He came in, picked up a girl and left. Came back, picked up another girl, left and never returned. He was wearing a Rude Boy kit which was cool.
Pat (host) 10:52:26 AM
Wait Matt Dillon was ska?!?!
Pat (host) 10:52:45 AM
Marcus you just blew my mind!
Marcus Haupt 10:53:33 AM
Porkpie hat, black Fred Perry short sleeve, black pants and shoes.
Pat (host) 10:54:34 AM
holy guacamole. I'll bet he looked fantastic too!
Marcus Haupt 10:55:11 AM
The ladies thought so.
Marcus Haupt 10:56:19 AM
Seeing Tom Cruise and Mimi Rodgers at Lucky Strike bistro. The guy is like 4'11
David Shortell 11:04:55 AM
I was planning to see Peelander-Z tonight at Randy Now’s Man Cave, a mere 10 miles from Princeton. Apparently it’s been canceled.
Brian D 11:06:01 AM
"The sky's getting dark. Let's go" - Dallas Winston
Pat (host) 11:08:24 AM
I've heard tell of this venue David, but never been
Jon Solomon 11:08:30 AM
Brian, not sure if you noticed but I got the Fall WPRB schedule's resolution and readability updated this week...
Jon Solomon 11:08:44 AM
https://wprb.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/wprb-fall-dj-schedule-2025-final-EDITED-scaled.jpg
Pat (host) 11:09:07 AM
Saw Peelander-Z in the early 00s at one of the many failed venues on South Street in Philly. Couldn't even tell you the name.
Brian D 11:09:28 AM
Ooo look at that! And by look at that I mean look at that. Indeed. Much better
Pat (host) 11:09:46 AM
Looks great Jon!
Pat (host) 11:10:05 AM
My show name is missing the 'u' but I'm not gonna complain
Jon Solomon 11:10:07 AM
Thanks again for providing the motivation to make it happen.
jimbooooo 11:10:24 AM
Chip-Turks!
Pat (host) 11:10:57 AM
Oh Jimboooo now I've gotta slow that down for next weeks show
Jon Solomon 11:11:30 AM
Pat, that's worth fixing if you ask me.
Matt Sabbath 11:12:28 AM
cool stuff dj!
Pat (host) 11:13:21 AM
Appreciate it Jon!
Pat (host) 11:13:28 AM
Thanks Matt!
Brian D 11:14:00 AM
Ya that c-l-a-m-o-r jumped out at me last week as well
Jon Solomon 11:16:52 AM
Revision request made.
Pat (host) 11:17:09 AM
Thank you sir!
David Shortell 11:17:25 AM
Peelander-Z’s Friday show at Brooklyn’s Littlefield and Sunday show at Philadelphia’s Kung Fu Necktie are still scheduled though.
Pat (host) 11:18:31 AM
Thanks Jon!
Matt Sabbath 11:20:34 AM
Kirin M song was dope
jimbooooo 11:23:49 AM
Your love is like a cancer baby? Whoa.
Pat (host) 11:26:18 AM
heavy stuff jimbooooo
Pat (host) 11:26:46 AM
Matt first I heard Kirin, they're in the new bin, and look forward to checking out more
G Jax 11:32:34 AM
Ha...I used to have the DLR 'Runnin With The Devil' isolated vocal as my ringtone.
David Shortell 11:33:17 AM
I don't think this is the same band you just played: https://youtube.com/watch?v=N2DtY7BTkp8
G Jax 11:33:33 AM
On a sadder note I saw DLR in AC a couple weeks back. That was rough..
Pat (host) 11:33:56 AM
It's not David, but that rules!
G Jax 11:34:31 AM
It's not? Sounds just like it
Pat (host) 11:35:05 AM
ooh, boy didn't even know dude was still touring. I figured at this point he's convalescing with devil
G Jax 11:36:15 AM
Well, my brother-in-law, for some reason decided to treat me and my wife to that show. I would rather he have given us… Well, anything other than that.
Pat (host) 11:36:43 AM
I'll have to double check after the show, but I think that's a different group at that link
G Jax 11:37:40 AM
Interestingly, enough. He got free tickets to The Who tonight and he gave us that too. This dude is never giving us anything the whole time that I've known him. And he's like giving us free shit all the time now. I hope he's like not on his way out or something. He looks pretty healthy though.
Jon Solomon 11:37:49 AM
I have an app on my phone that's basically the DLR isolated vocals as a soundboard. I didn't say it was a particularly advanced app!
Pat (host) 11:38:03 AM
I'd go see the Who
G Jax 11:38:32 AM
Yeah I'm old as dirt and I've somehow never seen the who. I saw Van Halen in their heyday though. It was so sad what I witnessed the other week.
Pat (host) 11:38:35 AM
This sounds like a very important app Jon!
Christine 𓅓 11:39:04 AM
Knitting With The Devil 🧶
G Jax 11:39:44 AM
The David Lee Roth isolated vocals are hilarious.
David Shortell 11:45:30 AM
I found out too late that yesterday's Association/Peter Noone concert at the Garden State Arts Center was FREE! I'll be sure to attend next month's free Rascals/Gary Lewis there though.
Pat (host) 11:45:48 AM
Your a show machine David!
Pat (host) 11:46:00 AM
I'm lucky to make a show once a month
G Jax 11:48:18 AM
I'd go see Peter Noone for free. In fact, I HAVE seen him for free. In Camden County at Cooper River 8 years or so ago. Very entertaining
Marcus Haupt 11:51:25 AM
Gary Lewis and the Playboys?
David Shortell 11:51:44 AM
Yes.
Pat (host) 11:51:51 AM
Ditto.
G Jax 11:54:14 AM
And this summer has been free concert summer for me. Whether someone giving me tickets or the county putting on shows. Two of em I would have paid for..Al DiMeola and especially Stanley Clarke. I saw Bob Mould for free too. Can I get money back for seeing a free concert? Dreadful. And I love Husker Du and his solo stuff but man he was awful
jimbooooo 11:56:55 AM
Thx pattttttt
Marcus Haupt 11:57:20 AM
Awesome show dude!
G Jax 11:58:51 AM
Yeah awesome show. At work so I kinda have to drift in and out but yeah hope to catch you again
Jon Solomon 11:59:32 AM
Great show, Pat.
