I have been moonlighting and checking out WKCR for their mega marathon Lester Young Charlie Parker 3 day 72 hour extravaganza.

How was it?

Was able to attend both Charlie Parker festival shows last weekend. I saw Russ and was getting ready to say hello but then security proceeded to remove me

Still going on until midnight tonight RE the WKCR marathon(s). And YES Phil Schaap lives is right! I thought I had stumbled into the usual Phil S rebroadcasts that have been cranking out regularly.... then I noticed Charlie Parker was playing all day long when I checked in and checked their website.

His delivery is (was) so comforting. There should be a hosted livestream/satellite channel that just broadcasts Phil forevermore until the end of time. So informative. Such great dedication and research. RIP

I think would help buddy a lot is his personality. He just seems like such a cool guy like the kind of guy you'd wanna hang around. He's always happy and smiling.. But man, he's ham handed and awkward on a guitar. And everybody just kisses his ass in some kind of way. Like Jeff Beck and Keith Richards and all them cats.

He's a showman I'll give him that. And a damn good showman and I do like the way he sings. I just don't think he's a good guitar player and I see other really great guitar players putting him up on the pedestal and I think he deserves to be there.
