His great lead guitar player, harmony vocalist, co writer Maury Muehleisen heard here and all of his hits was from Trenton, NJ.

Dug the soul. A LOT. I'll make myself forget the inexcusable Croce thing. Great show though. So it's all Philly huh? That's cool. American dream can't get to heaven. There's a good one.

@G check out the compilation "Cooler Than Ice: Arctic Records And The Rise Of Philly Soul" for more amazing tracks. A bit long, but pick and choose. I hope it makes up for the Croce catastrophe (Croce-trophe?)

The Croce thing is already forgotten. Yeah there's some really good funk and soul compilations out there. I was not aware of the Philly one, but I'll be grabbing that. I have a couple other ones like Texas funk Midwest, funk cold, ice or something like that I don't know there's a bunch of them probably all the same label. Awesome stuff.

I love the Todd Rundgren too. Yeah, Philly had a wide and diverse assortment of music over the years, which is really great. Yeah whenever I hear Todd Rogan, I think of the song I mentioned can't get to Heaven by the American dream. Todd might've produced it he might not have so I'm not sure

Yeah he had a hand in quite a few productions... and thanks for the reminder-- I recognize that American Dream cover from when I worked at a record store in Philly. Front and center in the A section and no one picked it up the entire time I worked there.

Gotta mention the great EDO from Philly that played a LOT back in the 1990s at many of the live music venues in Phila. Lots of fun. multi media assault shows with overhead projectors, costumes, masks, tons of free giveaway swag. Loved seeing that band whenever I could. They have some releases out there

Yeah, the main American dream dude Winkle was his name just passed away in the last year or so. He was a regular in the Philly thing even way after that so you probably even met him at the record store if you worked in Philly

Forgotten faves of mine: The Floating Dogs (90s band that played in Philly feat the late Wayne Hamilton also of the band Suffacox - good live shows that would build up the sound. Peak moment their song Jrug Blimp. And a trio called Crosstown Traffic that played at Walsh's a dive in West Philly. They played mostly all instrumentals, rock, funk, jazz, fusion. Phila all star musicians. Sometimes special guests).

I'm in and out because I'm at work. Noticed you called the A's power pop which I never thought of them as but they really were. BUT speaking of Philly power pop the is Wanderlust who were power pop for sure. Their song "I Walked' was somewhat of a regional hit. As usual Philly commercial rock radio was no help at all. Unless you were the Hooters

Question re: King Britt Presents Sylk 130, "The Reason" ~ Is there a credit on the record for sampling from Boz Scaggs' "Low Down" on his 1976 album Silk Degrees? Sounds like it to me. That's not a complaint, I'm just curious.

Actually because Philly commercial radio sucked so bad is how I came upon college radio. First WKDU which was fantastic in the 80's and 90's. Lost their way in the last 25 years or so. So I've been here for a while.
