@ DJ Chickpea (host) A _major_ DanFan here! In fact, I lived (by coincidence, not design) just down the road from Kendall Park, the expansive suburban development where Donald Fagen spent his teen years, an experience which informed many of the songs on his first solo album, "The Nightfly."

That is, "I live" as in present tense ...!

Absolutely ... the entire "Aja" LP is a true masterpiece.

I actually grew up near Griggstown, also not far from Kendall Park. There's a song on The Nightfly album "The New Frontier" about some young people having a party in the house's basement fallout shelter which Fagen describes as "the dugout that my Dad built in case the Reds decide to push the button down." Don't know if the Fagen home had one, but for a few years there was a fallout shelter demo model standing between the then-supermarket and the rest of the shopping center! Don surely saw it!

Well, this was late 1950s, early '60s -- the Cuban Missile Crisis standoff between the USA and USSR was October 1962 -- a time when people really worried that the Soviets would "push the button down" and we'd have World War 3! So the demo shelter was both cool and scary ...
