Dr. Bhavani Prakash is a physician by profession and musician by passion. She is an "A" Grade artist of All India Radio, and is equally versatile on vocal, veena and venu.

Veena Sahasrabuddhe (14 September 1948 – 29 June 2016) was from Kanpur. She was trained in the Gwalior gharana, but like many modern classical singers borrowed from others - in her case, the Jaipur and Kirana gharanas.

Born on 23 July 1947 in Chennai, L. Subramaniam made his first public appearance at age 6. Went on to earn a Master's degree in music and teach South Indian music at Cal Arts. He completed medical training at Madras Medical College and registered as a medical practitioner before leaving for the U.S.

He is also the father of Gingger Shankar, Ambi Subramaniam, and Bindu Subramaniam, and a brother of L. Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar. His uncles include Ramnad Raghvan and Ramnad Krishnan.

Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was born in 1902 in Kasur, Punjab Province (part of Pakistan since 1947). An influential vocalist in Hindustani music, he combined elements of dhrupad with Jaipur and Gwalior gharanas, into what would be known as the Patiala-Kasur gharana. He lived mainly in India after 1957, and died in Hyderabad in 1968.Originally aired on All India Radio in 1960.

Raman Kalyan, also known as V. K. Raman and as Flute Raman, is an Indian Carnatic flute player. He received advanced training from Dr. N. Ramani.

Abdul Latif Khan (1927 – 2003) was born into a family of musicians in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He was taught sitar, santoor and tabla, later leaning sarangi from Bade Ghulam Sabir Khan. Besides a handful of solo recordings, he accompanied many vocalists.

His son Nafees Ahmed Khan accompanies on tabla.

Madras Lalitangi Vasanthakumari (popularly referred to as MLV) (3 July 1928 – 31 October 1990), was a contemporary of D.K. Pattammal and M.S. Subbulakshmi, and was a prime disciple of G.N. Balasubramaniam.

Kattassery Joseph Yesudas was born on 10 January 1040 in Kochi , Kerala. He is a classical and film playback singer, able to sing in many Indian languages. In a career spanning 6 decades, he is estimated to have recorded around 50,000 songs.

Manjusha Kulkarni-Patil (born 2 November 1971) was born in Sangli, Maharashtra. trained in the Gwalior gharana. She started learning classical music at the age of twelve from Chintubua Mhaiskar. She studied with D.V. Kanebuwa of Agra and Gwalior Gharanas for 12 years, and lately is learning from Ulhas Kashalkar and Vikas Kashalkar.

Bikram Ghosh was born in Kolkata on 20 October 1966. He learnt tabla from his father Shankar Ghosh.(Santoor accompaniment is by Tarun Bhattacharya.) This is in standard Teental of 16 beats, and the melody is in Bhairavi.

R. Prasanna (better known as Guitar Prasanna), was born on 2 October 1970, and grew up in Chennai. He is a pioneer in performing Carnatic music on the electric guitar. He also plays jazz, progressive rock, and world fusion.

Sheik Chinna Moulana (12 May 1924, – 13 April 1999), hailed from a family of legendary nadhaswaram players.

Qamruddin "Bismillah" Khan (21 March 1916 – 21 August 2006). His father was a court musician employed in the court of Maharaja Keshav Prasad Singh of Dumraon Estate in Bihar. The shehnai had long been used during marriages, processions and in temples, but Bismillah Khan is credited with elevating the status of the shehani, and bringing it to the classical concert stage.

Vishnu Govind Jog (22 February 1922 – 31 January 2004) was an Indian violin maestro. While violin had been well established in Carnatic music, V. G. Jog pioneered the instrument in Hindustani music. Trained in the Gwalior, Agra and Bakhale gharanas, Jog evolved his own characteristic style.

S. Sowmya (born 16 April 1969) is a Carnatic music singer. She learnt music initially from her father Dr. Srinivasan, and later from Dr. S. Ramanathan and T. Muktha. Sowmya made her concert debut at the age of 11.
