1979-1980 A.D. - Complete Studio Recordings includes Grey Factor’s two studio EPs remastered from the original analogue tapes and pressed on limited edition vinyl with a 16-page color booklet including archival photos, documents and flyers chronicling the band’s brief existence. | Chris Brokaw Heaven Heaven Released October 2, 2020
Chris Brokaw: electric guitar.
Fender Jaguar, Nolatone 22 Tango, Analogman King of Tone, Michael Duane 117 flanger, MXR Carbon Copy
Recorded October 1, 2020, Cambridge MA. Cover of Heaven from the Stones's Tattoo You (1981). From Chris's description: "Tattoo You" was the last great Rolling Stones album...enough people have said it now so it must be true. It came out my senior year of high school and it felt like it was ours. I saw them twice on that tour and they were awesome.
Side two always felt like a unique suite. "Heaven" seemed the most narcotic song in their catalog, even before I really understood what narcotic meant. Oddly, then, one of the few recordings of theirs that doesn't include Keith Richards. Bill Wyman played guitar, synthesizer and bass; Mick Jagger sang and added some guitar; Charlie Watts played drums. I know, weird. "Tattoo You" is this weird outtake rummage sale album, I really love it.

| French Vanilla Evolution of a Friendship French Vanilla Typical Girls Volume Four V/A Emotional Response 2018
Made up of vocalist Sally Spitz, guitarist Ali Day, saxophonist and bassist Daniel Trautfield, and drummer Max Albeck, and formed while Day and Spitz were students at UCLA, French Vanilla have steadily built up a fanbase with their uncompromising and thoroughly infectious music, which is just as much informed by performance art as it is by the post-punk music they set out to emulate (Day learned to play guitar specifically for the band and still doesn’t know basic chords.)

| Warm Drag Butch Things Warm Drag Butch Things - Single Six Tonnes De Chair Records 2021 From In the Red bio: The two people in Warm Drag do specific things. Vashti Windish sings, the way Siouxsie sang power, the way Nico sang allure, the way Patti sang sex. Paul Quattrone makes the noise with two Akai MPC 1000 samplers. Beats that pummel or seduce, usually simultaneously, synths that soar like Morricone or pump like DAF, and gloriously twangy guitars that clang and echo like Duane Eddy spiraling down a k-hole.
