@ Dan Buskirk (host) Thanks for spinning that gorgeous Brubeck track from the LP Dave Does Disney. I'll admit, I erroneously thought that album was released after the Brubeck Quartet's truly landmark Take Five. But I think I'm correct in saying that Dave took heat from some jazz critics for recording such supposedly low-brow music as Disney movie themes.

Dave's Disney is '57, TIME OUT '59. But yeah, Disney tunes weren't a hip thing at the time. There's a nice Sun Ra disc of Disney tunes too......

@ Dan Buskirk (host) A Sun Ra disneying LP, too? Thanks, I gotta get with that ... My grooviest recommendation to fellow listeners who've never heard this Brubeck disc is the track "Heigh-ho (The Dwarves Marching Song)" during which Dave turns in a stunning one-note solo. Yes, ONE note -- which (with pedals and varying rhythms and attacks) he makes sound like a couple dozen. Wow ...!!!
