Goooooood morning. Are you tired and groggy from the friggin' time change? I think today's show is gonna be on the woozy side of things.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:02:33 AM
Were I more on my game, I'd have a whole bunch of songs about time to play for you. But I'm not. But if you have songs about time you want to hear, I'm open for suggestions/requests!
Rofflestomp 10:02:41 AM
Woozy? I worked on a boat for a few years, I can hang. :)
Rofflestomp 10:05:51 AM
The Treasure (Take One) by Stephen Stills Manassas band. It's a longish one though.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:08:53 AM
Hey Roffle! I'll see if I can fit that one in
Rofflestomp 10:12:40 AM
End of set kinda thing. A bit epic on the ending. But I love it. No worries either way. I don't really request stuff, what you guys do is way too awesome. But hey, just a suggestion if you have some time. Hope your day is good Dan. I woke up early and have a green tea thinky going. All out of coffee. :)
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:14:27 AM
Nice. Can't go wrong with green tea. What were you doing working on a boat?
Rofflestomp 10:15:25 AM
Fishing in Alaska in the Bering Sea. Good money, horrible everything else.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:15:50 AM
Whoa. Yeah, that sounds cold
Rofflestomp 10:16:51 AM
Brutally sometimes for sure. Ice and a baseball bat. arg!
Rofflestomp 10:18:06 AM
Gotta get the ice off the top so the boat doesn't flip. It's nutzo
Rofflestomp 10:20:03 AM
My heater here in Philly is much better. :)
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:20:07 AM
😳🥶
TAndy 10:21:57 AM
Heya everyone
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:22:10 AM
Morning TAndy!
Rofflestomp 10:22:21 AM
Heya TAndy
TAndy 10:22:48 AM
Just woke up for the second time this morning, good tunes rn
Rofflestomp 10:25:54 AM
TAndy you are the master of wakin' up stuff. I am certain it's not for the last time. :)
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:26:24 AM
My question for this track is whether the title is referencing the original John Barton Wolgamot text or this truly bonkers Robert Ashley composition: https://robert-ashley.bandcamp.com/album/in-sara-mencken-christ-and-beethoven-there-were-men-and-women
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:26:43 AM
(Some day, when I need to kill a large chunk of radio time, I'll play all of that Robert Ashley)
Rofflestomp 10:28:13 AM
Oh my, that is a solid question for Brian D for sure. Dude is an encyclopedia in real time. lol
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:29:50 AM
More on Wolgamot: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/harriet-books/2007/03/in-sara-mencken-christ-and-beethoveen-there-were-men-and-women-1944
Rofflestomp 10:31:58 AM
Spiffy dresser is now in my vernacular.
Rofflestomp 10:34:23 AM
Reads like a Philip K. Dick piece in phrasing.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:35:27 AM
Yeah, it's so totally weird. And Robert Ashley's rendering of it is even weirder
Li Maria 10:37:34 AM
that Magic Meadow Mirrow was gorgeous!
Li Maria 10:38:41 AM
Good morning DJ Dan and tentacled friends :)
Rofflestomp 10:41:08 AM
Nuron tendrecules are the octopus stock in trade for sure.
Rofflestomp 10:41:25 AM
Hi Li
Rofflestomp 10:42:33 AM
*neuron*
Rofflestomp 10:43:17 AM
Me spell bad
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:43:53 AM
Hey Li! Jen Powers and Michael Rolin always do the good stuff
TAndy 10:47:26 AM
I'm queueing up my "guy taking off sunglasses to reveal another pair of sunglasses" gif in response to this song
Rofflestomp 10:49:12 AM
Once you have sunglasses tatooed on your eyes you are ever cool AF.
TAndy 10:49:27 AM
😎
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:50:13 AM
This song is the second pair of sunglasses
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:51:24 AM
Or maybe this pairing is just because I watched all of "Wednesday" over the past week?
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:52:15 AM
(A show that would have been so much cooler if it had actually used doom metal instead of Metallica/Apocalyptica on its soundtrack)
Rofflestomp 10:54:01 AM
I binged it too. It was rather good. I was skeptical going in, but I did like. Yea, it could be much darker. Metallica is way too pop for me.
Krista 10:55:33 AM
Good morning. We are currently watching season 2 of carnival row. It's okay.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:55:38 AM
I'm definitely a sucker for that school of campy/gothy/cheesy TV. Like I watched all of Sabrina even as it got more and more ridiculous
Rofflestomp 10:56:58 AM
I only got halfway through the last season of Sabrina and totally lost interst. Shame, but oh well.
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:57:18 AM
Yeah, I can totally understand that
Dan Ruccia (host) 10:58:33 AM
Morning Krista!
Rofflestomp 11:00:30 AM
@Krista, watched it all through. I liked that one just fine. I understand it is the last of it. Not bad at all.
Ted 11:04:49 AM
Yay Cardiacs! Lizbot played ‘‘em last Thursday.
Dan Ruccia (host) 11:06:05 AM
Oh cool. I heard Dana K play them maybe a month ago. Definitely a band I need to listen to more of
Rofflestomp 11:07:39 AM
On safari sound track for sure.:)
Mike Lupica 11:09:37 AM
I love this Drin record lots.
Hanna Szabo 11:14:04 AM
hallllllo everybody
Hanna Szabo 11:14:21 AM

Brian D 11:16:32 AM
Hanna sighting. In the wild. Wild....
Dan Ruccia (host) 11:17:16 AM
Hey Hanna, Mike, and Brian!
Dan Ruccia (host) 11:17:29 AM
Exploding Hearts were sooooooooooooooo good
TAndy 11:36:56 AM
Hey hanna
Brian Nusspickel 11:39:08 AM
🐙!
Dan Ruccia (host) 11:40:30 AM
Hi Brian!
Hanna Szabo 11:53:01 AM
the past two hours I have felt like an octopus indeed
Hanna Szabo 11:53:14 AM
thanks Dan
Mike Lupica 11:54:11 AM
I think that's what people use Zunes for now.
Mike Lupica 11:54:44 AM
Or Ponos. Or whatever they were called
Rofflestomp 11:55:31 AM
Young had a pedal setup that is rather cool with his amp setup.
Brian D 11:56:18 AM
<--- still breaks out his Sansa Fuze+ every once in a while. Love that little mp3 black bar o soap
TAndy 11:57:18 AM
Thanks for the show!
TAndy 11:57:39 AM
Dam Brian D glad to know I'm not the only one who still uses a SanDisk
Brian D 11:57:54 AM
Ya Neil has "The Whizzer". Pedal that manually controls the amp knobs to get desired settings. Step on a button and the little machines turn the Fender amp knobs
Rofflestomp 11:59:19 AM
IKR, was a cool thing! Brian gets it. :)
Dan Ruccia (host) 11:59:46 AM
Thanks for tuning in everyone! I promise more random speculation about Neil Young technological devices next week!
Brian D 12:00:16 PM
I found that one can add just about any size additional mini SanDisk to the extra storage slot on those things. But.... the boot up time is really loooooonnnnggg if you stick in a large GB mini
Rofflestomp 12:00:33 PM
Thanks Dan
TAndy 12:01:04 PM
You can easily load rockbox firmware on there for less loading time and folder hierarchy support for large cards. Past 200gb, battery life suffers though.
Brian D 12:01:40 PM
Ya a i almost did that. Heard about rock box
Rofflestomp 12:01:54 PM
@Brian, I love the Amps these day. Tubes are so, so these days.
TAndy 12:02:01 PM
I have a 256 in there and the battery lasts 5 hours hahahah. Onto the next chat!
Brian D 12:02:56 PM
Then... i got a smarfone 8 yrs back... Sansa Fuzes look at me sadly and brush dust out of their electronic eyes now
Rofflestomp 12:03:15 PM
lol
