@ David Shortell Re: the page photo of Shatner & Nimoy reading Mad magazine, yes, that was the issue with its "Star Blecch" takeoff on "Star Trek" with the as-always spot-on Mort Drucker cartoonery. In addition to Kirk being rendered "Capt. Kook," Spock was "Mr. Spook."

Kook has suggested some outlandish way out of their latest danger, to which Spook exclaims, "I can't believe my ears, Captain!" -- eliciting Kook's reply, "I can't believe your ears either, Mr. Spook!"
