Sounds great! Love that Finders Keepers funky tune. 1st heard that on the Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders live stuff

@ Nora Great playlist already. Thanks especially for playing Al Green's cover of "I Can't Get Next to You" by songwriters Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong, which had been a big No. 1 for the Temptations. Just awesome lyrics. I'd never heard Green's version, with his killer syncopations against the main beat. Wow!

@ Mike Lupica Don't think I'd heard Charlie Tweddle before, I've got to hear more. This may sound crazy, but "Grandpa" sounded like something from a Appalachian one-man Incredible String Band.

Richard, he's got a legendary (in some circles) psychedelic country LP from '74, which, IIRC, one side of is just the sound of the nighttime forest recorded on his back porch. He's (more) famous for creating very ornate, rhinestone encrusted cowboy hats for a lot of celebs. I seem to recall that Reggie Jackson had one of them!

I adore Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerrard, what a truly classic bluegrass/old-time duo. Incidentally, The One I Love is Gone was written by Bill Monroe, "The Father of Bluegrass" himself. He was very supportive of them and women in bluegrass in general, and gave it to them to record. They certainly did it justice!

Saw David Massengill do this at the Philly Folk Fest. My Name Joe! There is a King in Thailand....

Have not heard in years. Reminds me of Gene Shay's great folk shows over the years on Philly radio stations
