Hi Commie!! ....I can't help but wonder if "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot is on tonoght's menu...so many ship/boat songs...

there are tons! i did a show about the ocean a few years ago and played a bunch of my favorite boat songs but there are tons more!

I know of a pub called The Heart Of Oak.

Maybe somebody should write a song about that "Duck" that went down in the Delaware just a few years back.....I was on it only a few months earlier..Whew!

omg there were multiple ducky tour accidents, that was so wild

my only experience with that duck is being part of a group of punks waiting for vegan cheesesteaks at gianna's and getting heckled by the duck

I loved that Isuroh Shimoda song. I the name didn't ring a bell, but I googled his name and he was in Tokyo Kid Brothers. I have a grey area reissue/boot of the TKB album Throw Away the Books, We're Going into the Streets, which I love. I also see his solo album just got reissued, but all copies appear to be in Japan, which makes it really expensive.

that record is great and yeah, very difficult to find here even on reissue

i think it actually just autoplayed on youtube one time and that's how i learned about it

Some fingernail filings could breing back the vibe, the precise pops and skips are a much higher level of retro-production for sure.

Repeat skips are definitely out, got a linear drive turntable...

Yea Commie, those type of skips are just kinda the song now. Quite personalized for sure. :)

the word underrated is super overused, but I think the Lines are really underrated. Like, deep post punk heads really like them, but they have so many awesome songs, they should be famous on a Wire kind of level, and some of their best songs like "On the Air" and "Nerve Pylon" are like top of the heap post punk songs.

best of friends - sailing is just about having a nice time on a boat but i played it on my ocean show!

I never knew that Rare Breed single was mistitled “Come AND TAKE A RIDE IN My Boat” instead of “Come ON DOWN TO My Boat”. There may be no authentic concert footage of the song, but Every Mother’s Son mime to it in a “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” episode.
