I missed Protex when they played Asbury Lanes in 2015. I vaguely recall seeing the listing, but it had been a long time since the venue booked a great show–so my conscious mind rejected the possibility and I instantly forgot about it. Oh, well. Maybe they’ll come back to the USA in another three decades.

I saw Sahara Hotnights and Finland’s Flaming Sideburns play a free show at Vintage Vinyl about two decades ago, Ambrose. Later, the store’s shows stopped being free–and now the store is gone!

@Commie, all about the Good Vibrations Record Co. And the man (Terry Hooley) who started it and all the band's who were signed to it, Protex, S.L.F. etc...and life in Belfast at that time.

Slept hard last night after loads of driving. It never ceases to amaze me how HARD it is to get around Pittsburgh- your rivers are beautiful but make for confoundingly serpentine routes!
