How long was the outage this morning? Someone reported Comcast down in the region. Had problems with multiple station feeds 😟. I had to bug out, but really enjoyed Dan's "effed up" show on air later.

nothing this morning, my block in philly just went out two-ish hours ago. hung out on the stoop eating chia seed pudding praying it would come back on in time for the show and by 7:45 we were all good

What was that during the set break just now!?

i have a warm mist one that i found on the street. it has a heating element—a hot nub that creates steam. it also gets caked in mineral deposits.. so you have to scrape that off to keep using it. it is pretty bad.

then there are evaporative and ultrasonic ones. the evaporative apparently creates white dust that you'll find around where you place the unit. and the ultrasonic is apparently bad at circulating humidity around the space.

so every kind has something bad about it, and reading reviews about different kinds just reveals different ways in which people are disappointed in the different kinds. so where does this leave us?

for sure - i think if i bought one it would be the evaporative kind, btw! it filters the mineral deposits. you have to buy a filter to replace eventually, but better than soaking stuff in vinegar or carving off mineral scales :X
