This season of Ungoogleable Feelings is coming to an end. When thinking about the feelings I want to put on air this time of year, there is only one answer: love. Love, the oyster, the making of a pearl. Not the thing but a process, which we so rarely get a grasp of. Can grass feel itself growing? Can we, ourselves? Love, boring love, quintessential and inexhaustible, the asperities of which obsess us so. I wish we had words better than ‘drunk’ and ‘intoxicated’ to describe the mind succumbing to the body, but why words when there is music? Today's is a melange of different genres, leaning into the sweet, and dreamy, and fun side of love. More to come in the future.

Today's playlist is a deep breath after having run for the bus, the view from a mountain, or even a really tall hill. It is the other side of Sunday scaries, the ease, the discomfort, the ebullience of having become, after having chased. Some nice soul peppered throughout, some latin rock, some beautiful, beautiful instrumentals. Enjoy <3

One of my favorite ungoogleable feelings is being in the studio of WPRB! You get reminded how many generations of people were excited by new and good music, so much so that they decided to put posters of it on the walls. Today I wanted to share with you the music that your favorite DJs stare at while putting music on for YOU! I wish all history sounded this good :)

Sometimes your own life happens with such force that you forget it's happening to you. I feel like everyone I know, including myself, has been finding themselves at crossroads recently. Making decisions, applying to scholarships, accepting and rejecting jobs, partners, near futures. Todays show is dedicated to that eeriness of taking one path and not the other, the grief of a life you won't live, the sweetness of the one you will.

I started planning today's episode before Tuesday, and it's a week where everything other than the election seems less important. The few sentences I wrote here are not about it at all, because I don't think I could say, or play something that encapsulates how one might feel about it. And while listening to music will not fix anything, it's nice we still get to do it. I hope you enjoy today's show.

Recently, I was in an elevator that got stuck. You know that situations like this one, like getting trapped in an elevator, happen; but you wouldn't be able to live unless you thought, most of the time, they didn't happen to you. I felt the surge of adrenaline, I didn't know what to do. When it restarted after a few seconds that adrenaline became a slight euphoria-- silly me, of course this wasn't one of those days.

I think this is why we do Halloween -- to be reminded of the danger in the familiar, the familiar in the dangerous. To look scary things in the face, to let them scare us, and then tell them, not today. Happy listening!

Today's showhighlights some american primitivism, some sad girl folk, and other fun stuff. I had time in mind while putting it together, something about the right moment having passed, or about struggling so hard to make this the right moment that you kinda miss the point, but then I thought what about the moments we try to forget? Times of our lives we don't identify with anymore, and sweep under the rug. Between 10-12, we're thinking about them with the same endearment, and worry that we won't get them back. The song by Hayden Pedigo was on that vibe, so if you take anything with you from today's show, take that.

Today's show is inspired by John Cheever's The Swimmer! I think it's a story with multiple readings, but the Ungoogleable Feeling it left me with was about regret for not paying attention. About being so caught up in your own self and your own pursuits, that when you finally look up, things have passed you by. So that's why we're starting on a jazzy, yacht rock-y vibe, with a lot of bossa nova, and ending on an ominous note!!

Last week I saw a video of a King Oyster mushroom be turned into a robot, and my first thought was 'oh god it's happening,' but then I thought about the mushroom, and how it will go on living with just a memory of having walked. Today's show-- 5th wave emo, punk, many others-- is dedicated to all the things you had but were taken away from you: being loved, playing tennis, living in a free country.

In one of her essays, Sontag said that an artist's job is to foray into the edges of consciousness and report what they found there. This weekend, I realized that this means being faded on the dancefloor is an artform in itself. So here we are, on a Thursday morning with some edm, some neo-psychedelia, a lot of fun things, all an ode to being intoxicated and at the border of consciousness.

Two weeks ago, I met my friend and her friend, whom I've spoken to perhaps twice before, for coffee. Conversation was awkward, and often lopsided, and we were tucked away in a corner where the waitress couldn't see us, so I had to get up multiple times. The table was wobbly too. Overall, not too unpleasant.

When we left, I hugged my friend goodbye, and then I offered one to her friend too, to clear the air. He held me tightly and wouldn't let me go. I didn't know whether to pull away or to lean in, how to give comfort or why the comfort was needed. It felt like the jamming of two gears, a splinter of intimacy to keep them from turning.

Today you'll hear songs that discomfort, songs with surprising force or unerring sensibility. A lot of post-rock, but much more.

This summer, I visited my first desert and it filled me with an indescribable something. It was, for sure, the muted beauty, the soft angles, the yellows and browns; the knowledge that it's been there for millions of years, the generations of people that have looked at it with nothing looking back. Maybe it's like like hearing your own heart pounding in a really quiet room, except it's you entire, pounding against the vastness.

Today we are listening to a little bit of desert blues, some Tuareg rock, some tende, and ending on an ambient note, with a lot of fun stuff in-between. Excited for three more months of Ungoogleable Feelings.

Brief departure from the normal Cig Break programming (a cig break from cig break), local northern NJ Post-Hardcore/Emo band Redeye came into our studio and melted our brains, soothed our ears, and warmed our hearts with some classic songs of theirs and some unreleased music too! Stay tuned for a brief set and interview starting at 7:30AM.

You know that feeling you have when someone succeeds in scaring you by hiding around the corner, or does a magic trick for you the mechanics of which you can't quite figure out? There's an anger you feel towards them for acting like they know something you don't, for making you feel silly for not having your guard up high enough; all that's left to do after is to go with the joke.

This is how it feels like for August to be here already. It has snuck up on me, and I didn't even realize it would be my last show, and that a bunch of other things are over. But there's still a month of summer left-- so today we will begin with punk and end on a jazzy note, with a lot of fun stuff in-between. Thank you for having listened this summer.

This October, NASA is set to launch the Europa Clipper, a satellite that will probe for signs of life on the icy moon Europa. Among the cool things they are putting on it (like the waveforms of the word 'water' in 103 languages, and a poem by Ada Limón) they have a microchip with the names of 2.6 million people on it. Isn't that amazing? Your name, forever in space. Even though there's no way for it to be traced back to you, a piece of you is still out there. The first thing you are given when you arrive on Earth.

Today's show is dedicated to the tingly feeling you get when you think about that for too long; the wonder, the excitement, the discomfort of all the things that are out of reach. Or, it's just cool music :) Some synths stuff, some punk, maybe some disco??
