Good day

Hi Mike! Volume OK?

Happy Friday to Jerry and Mike and everybody!

Yep....sounds good

Volume's good!

Hi Rick.! H:ow are you. Thanks. Let me know the same when I gum up the works and start talking.

OK.

This show is a "best of" 2026 so far

Afternoon Jerry

Hey Ossy!

H:i Ossy, good afternoon. Thanks!

I'm diggin' the groove on this track.

The best of 2026 just happened this week. :)

Hi!

He's a blues player, Rick, and not a jazz guy. Pretty dang good. Popular around contemporary blues people. Very

Hey Roffle!

Fingers are cramping just listening... lol

Indeed Roff!

Hi Rick!

Roffle, we have built a special show today based on your biorhythms.

Mike, you not so much

Only when we get to Vee-Jay

I ain't got no rhythms

My circadian rhythms need a reboot. That's why your here!

Why I'm here

If I were rating this track on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, I'd give it a 98.

But can you dance to it

Thanks, Rick. ROFL, I'm going into the closet behind me and pulling out the TNT

Good one, Mike!

I will give them a 100 for lip-sync r.ick

I am packing a plunger with wires.... :)

Roffle, you and Mike are on a roll!

The tracks today are all recommended by doctors on corporate payrolls of companies selling to senior citizens

I have been to their drug selling events with the great lunches!

Two out of three doctors smoke Camels

Ha, and drink Coca-Cola and recommend Maypo for your children

I miss healthy cigarettes

Especially the ones with coupons

When I was a kid my doctor was always burning one

Greetings to Gordski and his loyal followers. Dont like to politicize on SPINI but the new governor elect in Georgia is the daughter of ….MAJOR LANCE

I got my first baseball glove courtesy of S&H green stamps.

No kidding, Patrick! Um, Um Um, Um...

Hey Patrick!

@Mike, I never smoked anything but pot, but I stand by my nostalgia.

Oh, THOSE healthy cigarettes

That you can get with a prescription!

When I used to visit my Aunt Ronnie she had Raleigh coupons all over the place

Now at Mike's place, ...

My aunt Ronnie did not smoke, but her cheesecakes and ambrosia were addictive.

Nice to see that PRB collaboration with the Dharma Bums bar. I plan to go On The Road and go there . It’s located in a Subterranean Point Pleasant Location. Be sure to try the Kerouac Sazerac. But only one or you will have Visions of Cody. And buy David Amram a drink if you see him at the bar.

My Father saved Phillies cigar bands you could send in for premiums. He let me get a Steppenwolf album

Patrick, how are things out there on your weekly tour of dive bars?

Dharma Bums used to be Applejacks Bar

Is that a Jersey thing?

Cigar bands were high class rings for us deadend kids.

Dharma Bums = PA side o the river. Point Pleasant, PA. Somehow they got a New Hope address but that town is about 10 miles south.

Yeah, Cigar bands. They used to smell good.

Some crazy crazy nights at Applejacks

Hey Brian D. Sounds like a cool place.

Dharma is why I'm here... lol

I live in New Hope and it's a 15 minute drive for me.

And River Road at 2:05 AM....well....

Yep about 15 mins from New Hope proper

Greetings Brian D . Used to visit Point Pleasant USPS right on the river. I never fell in love with. But if The River Was Whiskey .

The GW bridge is about a 1 or 2 hour ride...

Yo Mok! Has anyone noticed that 100% of Cuckoo listeners are Barflys, former BArflys, or people who still have roach clips?

Just to get across\

Dive bars are golden

I am most certainly the former.

I used to go to Firenzes at 8 am near Chinatown after midnight shift. They should have filmed the Bukowski movie there.

I miss The Gobblers. Live Dixieland Jazz with bass player and owner Joe Butera. Tucked away in Point Pleasant, PA up on stilts. Such a good time

And great Italian food too to boot

Used to go to Gobblers when I was underage....always got served

Good bar, good people? Fucking magic!

50 years ago this weekend local entertainment options included Tom Rush,Dexter Gordon Tower of Power,Sandler and Young with Kay Ballard,Jon Lucien , Fifth Dimension and on a career low …. Jerry Lee Lewis at the Sunset View Inn in Browns Mill NJ

Kaye Ballard...oy vey

Wow almost forgot about Firenze Tavern

Tower of Power was the band that musician-types always held in high esteem.

The Mothers-In-Law!

Yep....Roger C Carmel only lasted one season because he was such a druggie

The Mothers of Intervention!

Ha!

Eve Arden!

Replaced by Richard Deacon I think

Richard Deacon was one of my fave character actors.

Yep

I have a microwave cookbook written by him

I feel the big hollow body

Might be wrong, but...

Excellent guitar artistry goin' on here.

I had to look him up. He was in everything! And they were always good!

Would have never known him from his name

Famous for playing Mel Cooley on the Dick Van Dyke show

And also Lumpy Rutherford's father on Leave It To Beaver.

Right!

I gave up knowing names. I just settle for great stuff away from polite company now.

I am incapable of knowing names!

Too vast!

I'm good with names unless I run into someone

Yeah, they'll mess you up

Most times I draw a blank

I love crib sheets though. I bought the best calculators in college because they stored the formulas. That is life. Buy the best calculator.

But not for Richard Deacon or Mel Cooley or Lumpy Rutherford!

Roger Carmel played a great villain on a classic Naked City episode

Patrick, yes!

Mourning the death of C and W performer John Bobby Wright. Son of Kitty Wells . Major hit with Here I Go Again. Also the last living cast member of McHales Navy.

Harry Mudd on Star Trek

Bobby Wright was on McHale's Navy

He's dead Jim!

Opps...I see you mentioned that

Cuckoo-land Live!

That sloppy flute would get you kicked right out of a Paul Hall audition.

Sounding good is not an option there.

Each day the Earth spins- we see different constellations. The only solution is sidereal Time.

That was great!

Orion is rising in the East

My monthly donation after years was down graded. I am having issues. We shall see where this goes.

I'm not sure what that means, but sometimes it's just the thought!

And didn't Roffle Dyslexia play for the Phillies and drive his car into a tree?

trumpy sendin out those 5k checks ?

Aiffrig, no checks for you! That's history!

For Rick

ET, ;;how are you?

I’m not sure what that means….my mantra when overhearing anyone under 40 discuss pop culture and it’s denizens

Just doesn't make sense!

The Octave Guitarist? Is this the great Wes Montgomery?

Love it!

That B3 is smoking!

Lonny Smith and Wes Montgomery? Pretty cool Jerry.

And the organ player is from "The Lurch" tradition

I didn't notice, thanks for pointing out. Amazing how some great ones can be such influences!

the youts agree

They need to

@Jerry, I dunno about driving into trees, but I know that is a thing. that people do.

Yes, Roffle Dyslexia played for the Phillies, had a drug and alcohol problem, and drove into a tree on the Main Line

His nickname was "Nails". That 1993 Phillies team was a bunch of misfits and thugs - but I love 'em.

@affrig- You didn't get your check? Did you call the Eagles manager? Meet me on Pattison Avenue. Now I want to know more.

Thank you, Rick

The Daulton /Dykstra car crash/ the mysterious South Street mugging of Randy Lerch.and Larry Christensen . The great Richie Allen tearing up his wrist pushing a car home from the Sugar Stick tavern . Great Phillies lore

where the hell would I be without a drug and alcohol problem. California?

Patrick, indeed!

Yes, a broken headlight

She is 82. GOAT

1,2, tree! All done. Silly people...

Oh fucking Lenny. Tragedy writ large. I have a fund- we promise returns shorting everything.

Yes, Synanon

I get a kick out of young whining Iggles fans and WIPolios complaining about 2 and 6 . When I was young this was a standard season accompanied by the staccato voice of Charlie Swift

Rick, notice Larry Goldings

Jerry, this is so good!!!

Randy Weston's H:i-Fly, which youo probably knew

Yep.

What is 2 and 6? Is the is ruck or you are the left hook? ok. second down, six yards left. All depends on your bogulo situation, If you are at your own 30 yard line- what is on the scoreboard? On their 30? Go for it.

If six was nine

I don't mind!

ǝuᴉu sɐʍ xᴉs ɟᴉ

Maths!

Flemington NJ hasn’t been this hopping since the Bruno Hauptmann trial

Trumpet... you did not really need that finger,,,

5 string bass logic

Wood does not lie. Dear Patrick.

Shout out to Norwegian wood,Wilbur Wood,Willie Wood and Into the Woods

This track is swinging big time!

Jerry the G

JG with the GM. tru

Aw, nice BP shoutout.

101 trombones in the big parade?

Woody n'YOu

Jerry always repped BP . He is missed by everyone

Now BP relaxed listeners, the greatest!

recorded in a studio somewhere- also then promoted. hopefully the artists were composted lol. Compensated/

I want to know- Who was behind the board. I really want to know Jerry. This is early tech. The recording industry had its own Mojo. Mississippi blues was recorded. Am I right?

@elias, recorded in a studio somewhere! Love that! Sums it up.

Fred got this thing with a mic on it.

Blues before WWII certainly had an audience, and was recorded by labels bid and small, sold to the African-American "market".

Major Lance. Father of Georgia Governor Elect. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh.

Sometimes the blues was recorded in a hotel room (Robert Johnson)

Key word, "sold to"!

Words...

:0

it all happened at once. Recording technology- AM radio. Stack records. Post war jubilation. Do the Twist.

Anyone could Twist....groundbreaking

Honking bari sax!

Pretty sure the whole thing still needed content. AM is noise without it. Not making that up.

I once saw a sax player. yakkety sax.

AM is noise with it

Love that!

Boots Randolf of course

I diode and a coil. AM receiver.

The ending on this tune is classic.

Rick is on the case. So is Mike C

Meet me in Tulsa

@Mike Constantine, Noise is an ongoing concern,

It really is. Too much

One of the Butt sisters

I wack my head. The outcome is questionable.

Big butt

I wrack my brain

Girls wack my head with those wit no complaints...

Yep, originally from the Shetyl in Ukraine with her sister Betty

Shtetyl

How were the perogies

Lets play with six fingers...

So good. Covered in sour cream

mmmmmmmmmmm

what about the kopanosa?

Carmalized onions...

Oh my

I don't want a pizza or cheesesteak without such onions

Verge of perfection

Truth

I used to sing that song to my cat

Now I want onions

My people!

wit?

Pro move is raw onions on the cheesesteak gives it a crunch

My father thought they were saying Jerry baby

Always viewed Frankie as a junior varsity Lou Christie.

Mike, your comment is so apropos!

The AM radio in the Falcon wasn't very good

the cops were very nice when they found us 16 year olds nekkid.

@thomas hatch, onions speak for them selves. :)

They speak for themselves for a few hours after

what did the onions say? they have no teeth?

Onion say stop your sobbing

Jerry is an encyclopedia Audio.

To our garlic understanding folks. lol

Jerry makes me smart Elias. :)

he makes me smart too. Right in my Shctetyl.

Carol write like 500 songs.

Wasn't Linda Ronstadt either

Shtetl just need to keep moving. Proves itself.

H:aha, Elias.Welcome to the Shtetl. I don't know how to spell it either

It's just a fad

Like the Beatles...

Love

Love it, Mike! Mike, one of Philly's leading experts on The Beatles (it's true!)

Oh gosh

Don't pretend

The Beatles history on VJ is so crazy there's a book by Bruce Spizer.

Шетли.

Many variations

we are beyond the pale now.

Catch you at some wherever or another Jerry! Ain't done yet...

When VJ shut down the President of the company took the metalwork of the album Introducing the Beatles and made thousands and thousands of counterfeits

Love it! Elias, was that Sanskrit or Arameic?

Thanks Gordski . Everyone have a great weekend

Forget whether this version is Ringo or Johnny Hutch on drums

Mike, I use to carry the counterfeits but I didn't know that story. They were legit!

Thanks, everybo;dy, for today

Jerry, your show was once again prime entertainment value! You are the main reason why I contribute twice/year to WPRB! Everybody enjoy your weekend!

And thanks everybody who conhtributed

Akkadian. Sumerian perhaps.

Don't they speak that at Beaver college?

A yodel in the canyon

Ha!
