Jo Sublingual 8:14:20 PM
Hello! I am so looking forward to new autumnal dreams & wonders
AndrewNYC 8:14:31 PM
Hey all. Saw TFUL282 last week. Here's the set list if you're interested. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/thinking-fellers-union-local-282/2026/great-american-music-hall-san-francisco-ca-6370be73.html
AndrewNYC 8:15:32 PM
Anne Eickelberg wasn't there.
Mats Sabbath 8:15:34 PM
andrewnyc nice!
AndrewNYC 8:16:18 PM
Seems like they played everything BUT Nipper. 😫
TAndy 8:16:52 PM
They'd need a real dog to do that live
Mats Sabbath 8:16:55 PM
andrewnyc they had a rough start with many songs but soldiered! Love it! The Operation!!
AndrewNYC 8:17:54 PM
@Mats Yes! There were 4 songs they had to restart.
Mats Sabbath 8:18:00 PM
great setlist andrewnyc!
Colt Dimez 8:18:14 PM
Excited for this show!
rosasolis (host) 8:18:15 PM
good evening @jo!! i hope that we can find the right tunes :) i hope youve been well~ and hii @andrew!! omg what did you think of the show?? i love that they played hurricane :))
rosasolis (host) 8:18:51 PM
hii @colt!! yay (◡ ‿ ◡ ✿) hope youre having a good one!!
AndrewNYC 8:19:47 PM
But all in all it was worth the trip. Due to various factors I wasn't able to get adequate sleep for the day so I did run out of steam at 11:30 but managed to make it to the end at 12:15.
rosasolis (host) 8:20:40 PM
thats good to hear! was that the only show they were planning on holding??
AndrewNYC 8:20:49 PM
Hurricane was great. Narlus Spector was cool. Lot's to like.
Mats Sabbath 8:21:16 PM
andrewnyc when I saw TFUL282 in '94 I wuz all jacked up on Jolt cola LOL
AndrewNYC 8:21:53 PM
There were no indications about future shows but this one was solidly sold out. So I'm sure they know they're base is still hungry.
Mats Sabbath 8:22:17 PM
Narlus Spectre and Milva Spectre are great songs. Good for them for coming back. Much needed in these tymes to have Thinking Fellers.
AndrewNYC 8:22:32 PM
Met a couple of cool dudes while there and we all follow on the gram now.
rosasolis (host) 8:23:05 PM
and they had so many songs from mother of all saints and strangers.. my favoritess.. hopefully they do! i bet the crowd was super interesting.. and @matt whats jolt cola :0
Mats Sabbath 8:24:28 PM
Rosasolis, Jolt was heart attack soda. You could also get speed sold as asthma meds at certain gas stations. The nineties were wild, wiiiiilllllddddddd!
AndrewNYC 8:24:30 PM
I also rode a Waymo car for the first time. It was a little scary at first but works really well. Not sure how well it would work in NYC.
Mats Sabbath 8:25:22 PM
yes the mighty Naked City
AndrewNYC 8:25:46 PM
Went to Amoeba Records on Haight St. and bought a new 2-disc edition of Like My Decals Off Baby.
Mats Sabbath 8:26:19 PM
andrewnyc glad it is still there! Amoeba rules.
Jo Sublingual 8:26:21 PM
@rosa I've been doing well, hope you are too. Thinking about going a sunrise hike tomorrow so might not catch the whole show... but it's a great vibe so far :)
rosasolis (host) 8:26:32 PM
omg now the suspicious gas pills are less interesting.. i cant believe they got away with that stuff back then lol.. and ive been hearing about those! i dont think they woud work in the city.. and ooh!! thats such a good magic band record
AndrewNYC 8:26:38 PM
And if any of you ever make it to Haight St in San Fran definitely go to the Counterculture Museum.
rosasolis (host) 8:27:23 PM
@jo ooh that sounds lovely!! the weather will be so much nicer if but momentarily.. do you usually go for hikes during the week? :) weather permitting
AndrewNYC 8:27:57 PM
@Mats having been to both SF and LA branches I have to say LA is superior. The LA Psych/Prog/Experimental section is MUCH bigger.
rosasolis (host) 8:28:42 PM
i think growing up i had heard about aquarius records but i never got a chance to go... sadd
Mats Sabbath 8:29:46 PM
andrewnyc I agree.
Jo Sublingual 8:30:46 PM
I do try to take advantage of my flexible schedule and take some weekday hikes when there are no crowds in the park... I haven't been doing it as much this year because I've been going on long bike rides instead, but I've got a flat and the leaves are changing colors so feels like a good time to hit the trails
Mats Sabbath 8:30:52 PM
play that thing JZ!!
AndrewNYC 8:31:09 PM
And FYI, the used CD market is blowing up right now. I've got a ton I could stand to dump.
Mats Sabbath 8:32:13 PM
physical media! (all media is ultimately physical, but I think people crave tactile experiences)
rosasolis (host) 8:33:56 PM
ahh that makes me want to go get my own bike @jo :) i havent been able to hike in such a long time, but i feel that particularly at this time of the year it would serve as a great way to stimulate the mind :) let us kno if you encounter any sights!! and @andrew omg the prices are jumping?? no...
AndrewNYC 8:34:42 PM
They are. Just make sure the surface isn't scratched.
AndrewNYC 8:35:52 PM
I'll be hitting the record fair of that other NJ radio station next month. I need to get more Can albums.
Tomi 8:36:25 PM
I thought there was only one radio station?
rosasolis (host) 8:36:37 PM
people do crave the tactile.. they dont want streaming anymore rightfully so.. and ooh i should probably check it out its nearby
Mats Sabbath 8:37:17 PM
Tomi LOLOLOL
rosasolis (host) 8:37:44 PM
hii tomi!! i think so too...
AndrewNYC 8:37:58 PM
The record fair is happening in NYC on Nov 6th to 8th. It gets crowded.
Tomi 8:38:39 PM

I'm putting you on my phone and heading out for a drink. Cheers everyone.
rosasolis (host) 8:42:41 PM
enjoy your drinks!!~
AndrewNYC 8:42:56 PM
This is the jazz-rockin-est show you've played in a while. 😎
rosasolis (host) 8:47:19 PM
i think i was subconsciously missing some of the igniscent warmth... :)
Rob from Maryland 🦀 8:51:27 PM
Good evening
rosasolis (host) 8:51:37 PM
good evening @rob!! how are you??
Rob from Maryland 🦀 8:52:36 PM
Hi @rosasolis, I'm doing ok. How are your?
Mats Sabbath 8:52:55 PM
just started a punk band called "Igniscent Warmth"
Mats Sabbath 8:53:29 PM
oh chit we broke up
rosasolis (host) 8:54:16 PM
hii @rob im a lil sleepy but otherwise ok (◠‿◠✿) any birdsightings lately?? and @mats did something happen with the stream??
Rob from Maryland 🦀 8:55:44 PM
On a street in the downtown of a nearby suburb, there have been up to 10 migrating warblers flying up and down the street, going from one 20-40 foot tree to another. Going to the second story of a parking garage allowed decent (eye-level) views for me this afternoon. They were discovered yesterday, so they could be there because of the 2+ inches of rain we have had.
Mats Sabbath 8:56:24 PM
@rosaolis I wuz just referencing the ol' quantum speed at which punk bands form, rise, and decay so quickly. Stream is good! Signal good.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 8:57:29 PM
A birder who lives nearby noticed them yesterday while taking a walk. It was great when they got pretty close. Cape May, Tennessee, Blackpoll, Nashville, and 2 or 3 other species of Warblers. I'm going to go back tomorrow to see if they are still around
rosasolis (host) 8:57:48 PM
@rob oh how lovely!! youve gotten to hear their song then? :) yea the rain really accumulated it seems all across the east.. and @mats oh yess.. if i were in a band i would use as many latinate bases and configurations as possible in my name and songs
Rob from Maryland 🦀 8:58:16 PM
@Mats, Stream broke up but will still issue a record, and Signal has new members so it sounds different
Mats Sabbath 8:58:40 PM
RobMD LOL
Mats Sabbath 8:59:22 PM
@rosasolis Latinate bases! Nice! Those are rare these days.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 9:00:08 PM
@rosasolis, no singing, as it is fall migration. And they are in their autumn plumages, which are not very distinctive
rosasolis (host) 9:00:31 PM
@rob maybe you can catch some photos! do you have any binoculars for the occasion? :)
Rob from Maryland 🦀 9:04:27 PM
@rosasolis, the discoverer filmed 3 of the birbs taking a bath on top of the machine where you pay for parking (which is outside the garage). The entire block is 2-10 story buildings plus the parking garage, and some trees. Not a place one would look for warblers!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 9:04:56 PM
@rosasolis, I brought my binoculars when I drove over there
rosasolis (host) 9:06:09 PM
thats adorable!! on a side note i particularly love it when they dust bathe.. where are the warblers usually located??
Mats Sabbath 9:06:59 PM
Aluk Todolo! Like a darker Angine de Poutine.
rosasolis (host) 9:07:57 PM
yess!! the repetitiveness reminds me of some krautrock tooo
Mats Sabbath 9:08:15 PM
also Russian Circles-esque
Norman Burnosky 9:08:40 PM
oh yes, i'm digging this
rosasolis (host) 9:09:45 PM
hii @norman!! glad you could tune in :) yess i love this breathless rhythm rn... and @mats ooh yess some post-rock!

rosasolis (host) 9:27:17 PM
hmm idk about any new reissues but you should def check out the live in greenwich village impulse recordings! i think youd reallyh like that one.. and @em i kno these next few days are tempting me to be out in the park all day.. and 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁💥💥💥 spooky season soonn
Ossy 9:27:56 PM
especially the period of wellness season
Ossy 9:28:44 PM
em - yeah, today was sweet summer lovin dolly parton weather
Rob from Maryland 🦀 9:29:22 PM
@rosasolis, warblers are usually found in areas with a lot of trees. Urban parks with trees can attract migrants, the more trees the more warblers. Big wooded parks anywhere will attract migrant and even breeding warblers
jimbooooo 9:29:38 PM
Agree on In Greenwich...Our Prayer track is amazing
Em Boro 9:29:50 PM

rosasolis (host) 9:40:17 PM
@ooh i see!! i would love if there were a way we could collect all the birdsightings we have here as a group.. it would be a good project to accompany the music :) and yess that our prayer track and the truth is marching in version is heavenly..
rosasolis (host) 9:40:29 PM
i do love geese too.. especially when they loaf
Ossy 9:40:54 PM

rosasolis (host) 9:47:12 PM
how so?? :0
Rob from Maryland 🦀 9:47:22 PM

rosasolis (host) 10:07:30 PM
ohh i think i remember her!!
Ossy 10:07:46 PM
rosa - ah yes, she was also intense to beat at first, ij the original yellow i played. loralei also appeared in the anime as well
Ossy 10:09:14 PM
unlike in the original yellow, in lets go pikachu/eevee she appears earlier at some place in the adventure, threatening team rocket in ganging up on the protagonist. Her presence alone made the criminals blast off LOL
Mats Sabbath 10:13:30 PM
Nze Nze! Gnaw Their Tongues-esque!
rosasolis (host) 10:14:36 PM
@mats yes!! i missed this when it came out a few years ago.. i absolutely love this sound.. and @ossy ooh i bet that makes it more interesting!
Mats Sabbath 10:15:35 PM
Nice find, dj. Reminds me a lil of Crash Worship, too.
rosasolis (host) 10:16:36 PM
ahh crash worship! ive read that their live performances were crazzyy and also sounded better than their records, is that tru?

rosasolis (host) 10:18:49 PM
@rob @jo i promised suspense and melancholy hehe.. hiii @maple!! im so glad you could catch the show :)) always!!
Mats Sabbath 10:19:01 PM
Rosasolis, yes, Crash Worship had a rep for live craziness. A la early Butthole Surfers. One of the wprb DJs has some great CW live stories.
Mats Sabbath 10:20:00 PM
RobMD LOL! "Slint, My Wife Said Happily" sounds like a novel title.
rosasolis (host) 10:20:10 PM
ooh who?? is it Mike? i need to try to see if there are any videos of their performances...
Mats Sabbath 10:20:53 PM
It might be Lupica. He has the best Buzzoven, et al, live stories.
Mats Sabbath 10:21:33 PM
Told ya the 90s were nuts! Very weird decade.
Mats Sabbath 10:23:35 PM
Slint, My Wife Said Happily, the unearthed 2000-page lost novel from David Foster Wallace.
rosasolis (host) 10:24:17 PM
but it made the music so gooood.. honestly i watched daria for the first time earlier this year and it made me pine for it too loll
Mats Sabbath 10:24:37 PM
Crash Worship once played with Sleep. Imagine the weedy air at that gig!
Mats Sabbath 10:25:43 PM
Daria! The master of sarcastic deadpan.
rosasolis (host) 10:26:13 PM
loll thats crazy did you ever get to see either of them??
Marcus 10:26:37 PM
@Mats, shout out to DFW! Consider the lobster
Mats Sabbath 10:28:05 PM
I did not..I wuz scared of Butthole Surfers cuz they showed gruesome surgery footage. Never caught Sleep but hung out with Matt Pike once in Oakland and only knew him from Sleep. Crash Worship was too wild to last. @rosasolis
Mats Sabbath 10:28:42 PM
hey Marcus! Yes! Infinite Jest! That book is a slog.
Mats Sabbath 10:29:21 PM
Infinite Jest is like a pleasurable punishment.
rosasolis (host) 10:29:29 PM
i remember i was going to read dfw after finishing gravity's rainbow in undergrad but i never did.. hmm.. and yess it sounds like a band that could only really have thrived in the early 90s
Mats Sabbath 10:32:49 PM
William T Vollmann has a 3400-page novel (actually, split into 4) coming out. I'm in training for it.
Mats Sabbath 10:33:22 PM
Love them phat novels.
Ossy 10:33:45 PM
Zelda 64 auras
Marcus 10:33:49 PM
@Mats: I read Gravity's Rainbow but it will be a cold day in Inferno before I try for an Infinite Summer
Mats Sabbath 10:34:41 PM
Marcus haaaaaa! Good to know yer boundaries.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 10:34:41 PM
@Mats, you're right, it does sound like a novel title!
rosasolis (host) 10:34:57 PM
@ossy thats what i thought too!! and ooh what is that novel going to be about @mats? and @marcus what did you think of pynchon??
Marcus 10:36:16 PM
@rosasolis: he's my favorite writer (with Harold Pinter). I've read all Pynchon's books.
Mats Sabbath 10:37:19 PM
Marcus, I hear Shadow Ticket is good...
rosasolis (host) 10:37:19 PM
ooh should i read mason & dixon?? ive had it bookmarked for a whilee
Rob from Maryland 🦀 10:37:21 PM
alright, this postSlint is a nice thing to prepare for sleep. Thx rosasolis for this wonderful show. Good night all you lovely chatters!

take care RobMD
rosasolis (host) 10:37:39 PM
goodnight @rob!! happy dreams and a wonderful week to you :)
Marcus 10:39:02 PM
You should start with "The Crying of Lot 49" and see how that hits you. Mason & Dixon is not where you want to go first
Mats Sabbath 10:41:04 PM
Lol!
rosasolis (host) 10:47:23 PM
ooh ive read that and V and Gravity's Rainbow! i kinda just didnt get to read his other works :)
Marcus 10:48:32 PM
